What was your favorite beauty product that you used today?
Well, I didn’t really LOVE anything I was testing today, but I did still love my Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation, lol!

The new Hourglass Illume Sheer Trio!
Considering that I had a situation earlier that prevented me from doing a FOTD, the only thing I used beauty wise today that I absolutely love is my Origins GinZing Eye cream. That eye cream has made a huge difference at roughly $50 less than the one I bought over a year ago, but just felt like it moisturized nicely, but that was all. GinZing makes my circles less noticeable and tightens up the eye area a little better.
You, too? Worked 6 hours at day job fri and 5+ at night job, getting home @11P, then some new hire didn’t show..big surprise…at night job, so I had to be back @ night job by 8 A sat. Only color product I got on was Nars Sandra, and it was probably gone by 9, given the Mother’s Day rush. Now I’m resting and cruising MAC pretty packaging.
That’s insane!!! Too much of no real break with work is a nightmare, and then having to sub for a no-show is really terrible. I hope the other employee is dealt with, geesh! My situ was a actually a meiobian cyst on my lower waterline. When it happens in the upper waterline, it’s fixable. Not so on the lower. I tend to get them if I overheat. They’re pesky little suckers! Just have to wait for it to go down, otherwise those *can* get infected. Dealing with some severe hives on my arms, hands and feet, too. Just a PITA!!!
Today was sort of an off day from makeup. I did apply some IMAN Cosmetics eyeshadows, but that was to my forearm for swatches and pics. I don’t think that really counts. Lol. I did, however, apply my favorite lip gloss from Jane Cosmetics. It was the ‘Sparkle Gloss’ in SPARKLE PINK. I wear it whenever my lips are uber dry; it’s quite moisturizing and long-lasting.
Definitely Boy Brow. It takes me under a minute to do my brows. I’m definitely a fan.
ColourPop Fizz shadow! Every time I use it, I fall in love with the beautiful, light, glittery green.
Mac eyeshadows
Milani highlighting powder
Loreal bronzer
Also love my Maybelline lash sensational mascara
I didn’t wear makeup today, but I did a face mask (well, two in a row) today which was nice. Both were Peter Thomas Roth ones. First I threw on some of the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask on a few of the less-sensitive areas of my face as my chin/jaw area has been uneven lately and my forehead needed a little seeing to. As I have sensitive skin I followed that up with the Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask (which I keep in the fridge) to replenish any moisture and calm down any areas that got “upset” from the enzyme mask. Fantastic combo! (the PTR cucumber mask is also a good one for after the pumpkin one).
Oh, and I tried out the Lancome Juicy Shaker in Mint to Be as that came in the mail today. I was supposed to get the Mangoes Wild one too but they sent me two of the Mint to Be ones instead, but knowing Sephora and they’re great customer service they’ll probably just send me the Mango one and then I get a free extra Mint one so that’s fine with me XD
Oohhh how do you like the Juicy Shaker? I’ve read that the Mint one makes your teeth look whiter!
I really like it! The applicator is very soft, and the oil (or whatever it is) is very comfortable and makes your lips suuuuper hydrated. It also just feels very luxurious to use so it’s like a little treat whenever you use it. I didn’t really notice any change in how my teeth looked, but I drink a lot of tea so that may be why XD but my guess is any whitening effect is going to be really subtle if anything.
I can imagine the luxurious feeling using that shaker. Youtube’s gone wild about those thingies. Happy to read that an actual person likes them as well. 🙂
I loved the pink eyeshadow look I got today using my Visert Ribbons Boheme palette . Visert shadows are smooth and long lasting a joy to work with.
Becca Champagne Pop <3
I loved Tom Ford’s Moodlight. Bobbi Brown’s new finishing powder was a close second.
How do you use the Tom Ford Moonlight Tracey? As a highlighter, blush or all over powder? I need to watch some you tube videos – I can’t figure out exactly how to wear mine!
Wow, it’s hard to name a fave today! I’ve been testing out makeup products all week for the upcoming black tie event, and everything performed like a champ, and it’s been a looong 17 hr day day ( 7AM to 12 midnight) . Probably the fave is the Marc Jacobs Re (marc) able Full Coverage Foundation Concentrate, a little faded but still looking pretty good at midnight, set with a little IT Bye Bye Pores Loose powder. But honorable mention to all of the other products. The blush combo ( IT Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Stain layered on top of Vincent Longo Lip & Cheek Stain) is a little faded but still there, which is a miracle since my cheeks usually eat blush alive. The Anastasia Dip Brow never budges ever. And the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Lash Mascara is still there, holding some curl, with slight smudging, but not bad considering it’s 17 hrs, I have super oily lids, and straight lashes that point down and don’t hold curl well. Also impressed with my small sample of the Giorgio Armani Esctasy Lip Lacquer –it wore well through snacks/drinks, left stain, and only came completely off if I ate oily foods, but was easy to re-apply.
Tough question since I used all my usual go-to’s to get ready quickly this morning! Hmm.. it’s a tie between my Too Faced Papa don’t Peach blush (why was this beautiful glowy blush discontinued?!) and the new YSL Oil in Stick in #54 Rose Rive Gauche (which is a peachy pink on me and not very rose at all haha). A very fresh and glowy peach look with MUG’s Cosmopolitan blended on my lids and Laura Mercier’s Candleglow foundation to even out my complexion.
My mascara. A surprise favourite.
By Terry Denssiliss Primer
Armani UV Primer
TF Cocoa Mirage ( + 1st time using UD and Marc Jacobs purple pencils, love them)
Dior lash primer, and it-lash mascara
YSL tint-in-oil gloss
Love my moisturizer Magical Moringa by Lush, I use it like a primer and it’s perfect, i love it so much !!!
That stuff is really cool…I stopped using it in the winter but I am definitely going to break it out now that I can benefit from the oil absorbing properties again…it really works!
Yes, the skin is so soft after !!!!
Looking back the only thing I really liked was the Blossom eyeshadow I wore from the Anastasia Self made Palette.
Do antihistamine eye drops count? I wore very little makeup on May 6 so it was probably my UD Rapture lipstick (I have a cold so CC Cream, concealer and eye makeup were beyond minimal as my eyes are tearing like mad).
My new LORAC Unzipped palette! Tried it for the first time today 😀
I have my eye set on that palette… But I own so many already ? Do you recommend it? Even if I have naked 3 and tarte tartelette? Thank you ?
I’ve only used it twice so far, but I do LOVE the colors! The shimmery shades produce a bit of fall-out though, not sure if that’s a deal breaker for ya? Either way I plan on reviewing the palette some time this month, so maybe you can check out the review and see if it’s helpful.
I will love to see your review! Do you have a blog? Youtube channel?
Yes and yes! I don’t want to spam Christine’s comment section with links though, but if you check my profile here you can find the links to both my blog and YT channel. Hope to see you there soon! 🙂
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation mixed with Tom Ford Fire Lust
I wish Tarte made the Rainforest of the Sea foundation in deeper shades. I would love to see what the hype is about. My fave beauty product right now are the Wet n Wild MegaGlo highlighters. Both of them are gorgeous and are surprisingly great quality
I agree with color matching. If they can do it crossbones at wall paint stores, they can do it for us. I am fair to medium pink cool, I think but too many foundations are too yellow. Not as big a problem as for women of color but still seems easily solvable. I began wearing make-up in th mid to late 60s. The foundation colors matched no-one. Stage makeup was easier. NO EXCUSES.
*crossmatches
A lipstick called “Bad Girl” by Performance Colors, who I think is no longer in business. Very pretty plum-berry shade.
Tough question because I am away from home with my all-time favorites !
I can’t decide between the me-512 golden beige from MUFE or my Laura Mercier’s highlighter.
Love both brands.
Hmm maybe Too Faced Sweet Peach palette or Urban Decay Sheer Liar lipstick
I literally just woke up, so nothing yey, LOL! I’ve been playing around a bit with L’Oreal La Palette Nude 2 & CoverGirl TruNakeds Roses, and they work beautifully together. I plan to give them a real run today, and try them over a base. They held up on their own, but I just want to see if I can take the color up a notch (alone, I get a soft, romantic eye, but I want a more intense option).
Today I tested a sample of Dr. Brandt’s Pore’s no more primer. I do not have a lot of very visible pores, but since I had to go out and about and it’s summer this week (from 7 degrees with snow and hail and wind to 25 degrees celsius with a sun in a perfectly blue sky in 1 week) and I wanted to look polished I decided to give it a go. It is fabulous. I put it on at 8.30 am and I came home at 4.30 after a day of travelling by train and by bike, walking in busy streets, sweating… And my skin looks absolutely amazing. As if I just put my moisterizer in the morning. I saw it was on offer here so I just bought a tube. 🙂
They have a mattifying gel that also accentuates the pore hiding and mattifies. Feel wonderful. Apply just prior to primer.
Ah great, thanks for mentioning this. I will have a look at it!
Kinda in love with everything today; it all came together.. the makeup gods were with me
1. MAC mineralize blush – Cosmic Force: It’s like strada only that much better. The finish is gorgeous. I usually do not care for MAC blushes. This one for me is perfection.
2. Looxi beauty – Ever After – highlighting powder continues to be so frickin’ magical looking.
3. Too Faced Chocolate bar – the orig – Candied Violet I bloody well love LOVE you too!!!!
I just bought MAC Cosmic Force last weekend, and am seriously kicking myself for not grabbing a backup! If I make it to the mall today, I’m going to check if any more are left in stock..
I knew you would be with me on this one. It IS that good 😀
I’m loving MAC Men Love Mystery lipstick today (actually all this spring).
I had an early morning vet appt so makeup was minimal, but I wore UD “Hush” blush from the UD Gwen palette, and I really love it! It’s the perfect balance of blush and luminosity so you don’t need more of either, and the color is gentle enough that I can kind of slap it on haphazardly and not worry about over-doing or under-blending. It’s a really nice shade!
I love Hush. It’s my go-to when I’m too lazy (or don’t have time) to bother with a million products but still want luminosity and a little color!
I just finished painting my nails and I love the color! Essie Mod Square
That’s a hard one since I really like a lot of what I have on. I suppose I’ll name a few then.
First would be the Surratt Lipslique in Perfectionniste. I’m so plesantly surprised by how this doesn’t go all goopy on my dry lips. Seriously, pretty much everything else I use does as my lips slowly suck all the moisture out! I can top up this lip colour without having to remove the product completely and start again. That’s a big deal for me!
Next is a staple product that I use every single time I apply eye makeup, NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. I’ve used tonnes of primers and this is the only one that wins the battle against my oily eyelids! Anything I apply over this lasts over 24 hours. How it does this I don’t know but it must be magic or something. ?
Finally my foundation. As much as I love my Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation my skin sometimes needs more coverage and a more matte finish. That’s where the Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation comes in. It lasts so well on my oily skin, keeping it shine-free for most of the day. I have other foundations that are pretty good at this to but the clincher here is the colour – it’s damn near perfect! In all, I just love this foundation.
I still need someone to tell me if coffee is a beauty product :p
It is for me, Erin! First one I use EVERY day, LOL ?
Coffee is definitely a beauty product – next to putting on makeup it is my Number 1 priority.
Hahaha! It is! And don’t you love putting makeup on while having coffee?
Considering this is about yesterday, my Lancôme Juicy Shaker in Bohemian Raspberry. Seriously I love that stuff.
Mac MEHR lipstick. Love it so much.
Oh gosh me too. I’m so scared they will stop making Mehr. I always have to have 2 back ups but I want to hoard many more!
I think I have 3 open, one at home, one at work and one in my bag.
But here in Germany the colour mehr is not Part of the regular lipstick line, it is only available in the USA. So I always have to buy it from the USA.
And in General I am always afraid of discontinuing.
No matter what Brand. I am very often “the Lucky Winner” and my loved products Are discontinued.
From the first moment I saw Mehr on myself, it has become an instant favorite of mine, too! It’s: “My Lips But PERFECT”
Just came home from Sephora to pick up UD revolution lipstick in Rush. Instant favorite – changed my eye look to go with it for this evening. I may go back and snag a backup before they are all gone
Maybelline BB Cream in Light-Medium.
Perfect color for me for transitional times of year. I use it as a foundation over 2 coats of moisturizer. Gives me a “natural” finish that’s between dewy and matte. Unlike many or most drugstore foundations, it’s forgiving of skin texture and works well even when skin is not freshly exfoliated. Excellent value.
Clinique Smart Night cream for dry-combo skin.
Wow. Just wow.
Urban Decay Junkie eyeshadow from the Urban Spectrum Palette.
A gorgeous shade – I really love wearing it too.
Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contoure palette.
Today, I especially LOVE my NARS Pure Radiant Concealer because I have a black eye from getting my tear troughs corrected with Restylane this past Monday.
Ow! Hope recovery goes well.
Hi KiKi: I have been considering this option. My troughs are getting that much more significant. Did it hurt like hell? You know, I don’t think it’s the pain that holds me off, I have high tolerance, I think I get a bit freaked out by the thought of injections close to my eyes. How is the overall experience for you?
My Elf sunkissed bronzer! It’s my favorite highlighter for the summer. No glitter whatsoever, just the prettiest sheen. Even as fair as I am, it looks stunning and blends into the top of my bronzer for a beautiful golden glow.
maybelline instant rewind foundation
maybelline instant rewind primer
l’oreal true match powder
lancome 24 hr hypnose mascara
bobbi brown creamy concealer
too faced candle lit glow highlighter
nivea spf 30 lip balm
makeup forever plexi gloss in artist
Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea lippie in Beach Bum with Visionary lip gloss looked nice. Well I received a compliment!
Christine,
How do you like the Rainforest of the sea foundation compared to MAC’s studio water-weight foundation (if you tried it)?
There are a lot of these serum/water foundations out on the market now, and I struggle to find many differences aside from price and amount of product (Sephora teint infusion, Smashbox camera ready BB water, etc…).
Thanks
Sorry, I haven’t tried it.
Bésame Cosmetics lipstick in Bésame Red!
I used two things I really love today…UD Rapture blush and the Tartelette 2 palette.
One of my most loved lipsticks of all time, MAC Sweet Sakura. It makes me happy, just looking at it.
Dior Contour Lipliner # 573 Airy Mauve as lipstick.
Kevyn Aucoin – The Celestial Powder in Candlelight
This is a secret super weapon to make an ordinary makeup day turn spectacular. Most people comment on my “pretty” skin. Mums the word!
my IT cosmetics CC cream! I love it so much! as well as my Milani blush in amour touch I think it’s called (the one that’s supposed to be a highlighting blush). also my pixi by Petra contour powder (my HG contour powder) and the essence tinted fiberous brow gel in brownie brows and last but not least the violet voss holy grail palette! I received it in the mail yesterday and used it for the first time today and I already love it!
Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow primer mixed with Make primer. My Omorovicza foundation, and my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and Tom Ford lipstick. Sorry but I love all my makeup, just named a few. LOL
MAC Just a Wisp mineralized blush.
My Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in Chai
Estée Lauder double wear foundation! I may change out everything else to try out new but the foundation stays thee same. It’s perfect.
That’s a hard one!
My Milani Cinnamon Spice lipstick is now a favourite
An oldie but goodie – Dio’s 3 Couleurs in Khaki – three great colours – a khaki brown, a khaki green and a beautiful soft gold.
I have an old Calvin Klein eye shadow palette (since about 2004) that I got at Sephora that I take out and use once in blue moon. I forgot how beautiful the shadows are. It contains 5 shadows in very neutral color that go on beautifully and blend like a dream. The color names are aubergine, granite, almondine, espresso and khaki. I have hit pan in almondine and khaki.
I love my Besame Vanilla powder
Traveling with bare minimum, although doing fancy Mothers Day brunch, so this is the best of the best for me (right now, anyway):
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 30
MAC Skinfinish Natural
Nars Orgasm
Laura Mercier metallic eye cream in Rose Gold (this would be the winner overall, I suppose). Subtle neutral eye with strong lip so no brushes or powder shadows needed while traveling, either! There’s no good lighting or mirror at my sister’s spare room, I came prepared to give up any fancy eyeshadow.
Guerlain Kohl Me Kajal eyeliner
Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Créme
Anastasia Brow Wiz
Lately I’ve been trying new foundations and primers, but today I went back to my old go-to and I LOVED the results! Why did I change? Smash box photo finish primer with supergoop cc cream (yep) mixed with a little Maybelline Lumi liquid highlighter. Perfect!
And I loved my lipstick: Estée Lauder nectarine.
I only had 7 mins. to apply my makeup this morning as my toddler son was VERY interested in all of mommy’s lipsticks and I just could not run the risk of another smashed bullet haha! But I must say, I went in with low expectations and ended up very pleased with the final look!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (applied with Sigma F80) – this is only the 2nd time I’ve used this and I was super happy with the results and longevity!
Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder – really love this as a setting powder/pulls the look together.
And my VERY favorite of the day, and for sure my most shocking (I hate that I’m a “brand snob” with lipsticks but I collect them and love luxury lippies so this is why I was even more surprised by how much I loved this stuff!): the NYX liquid suede cream lipstick in tea and cookies. I got this at Target months ago and it’s been sitting in my stash, unopened, since then, and for whatever reason I decided to reach for it today and I’m SO thrilled that I did! It was gorgeous and wore beautifully. I did top it with Marc Jacobs lip gloss in Sugar Sugar which ended up a perfect color for my complexion. Has anyone else used the NYX suedes?! Would love to hear other people’s experiences.
The only makeup I wore today was MAC studio fix powder, jordana brow pencil and a NYX butter gloss.
Applied a nice pastel blue nail polish today
Today was a minimal makeup day for me, but I did slap on some Kitten Parade eyeshadow (Sugarpill) and I totally love that shade!
Makeup Geek’s new eyeshadows in Chit Chat (crease), and Rebel (lid) with Morphe’s Pretty in Pink (transition) AND my new Too Faced Glitter Glue on my lid so my hoods don’t crease! Lolol! ?? AND my new favorite blush of all time now: Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Sparkling Bellini (I like to just use just the first two strips). What a gorgeous peach for spring and it has this amazing built in luminizer (more glisten than sparkle) so I don’t have to top up with any highlighter. The BOMB dot COM of a BLUSH!!! ??
Tough question for today as it was a no make-up day. I would have to say me skin care routine. I’ve been using Liz, Earle cleanser, toners and moisturizers and FAB cream on my hands and nails. Both feel really soothing and good for older skin.

Oh, does Chardonnay at home with hubby watching recorded shows count? Watched PBS MASTERPIECE, Janis Joplin. Brought back the wild, free crazy days but. not into substance abuse like poor Janis. I believe in English lit, and songs are poetry, there were many tragic heroes. I believe she was one after hearing her more detailed stories..
I got the by Terry Sun Designer palette in Tan and Flash Cruise yesterday and swatched it, it’s gorgeous! I wore the coral shade on my cheeks, with the beige shade as a highlighter and it looked lovely. Also loved a sample of Elie Saab’s Intense Eau de parfum, it’s a gourmand scent.
I loved trying my new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light today! I’ll need to try it a few more times to make up my mind, I think it’s subtle but noticeable?
It was the combination of 2 foundations
Born this way from Too Faced and
Touche eclat le teint from Yves Saint Laurent
The first give more coverage to the second who give a beautiful radiance
I think it was the most love for my makeup 🙂
Violet Voss glitter in “Champagne Kisses”. Wore it to a dance for my business fraternity 🙂
Becca Rose Gold layered on top of Colour Pop’s Most Necessary. #HighlighterHeaver
My moisturizer. Decleor Aroma Lisse Energising Smoothing cream (such a long name). It has made a huge difference in my skin.
My faves are always my Miracle Blur and my Cargo unliner for my lips. I love love love the pale liner on the lips – makes them look bigger. I have NYX’s but haven’t tried it yet.
Mary-Lou-Minizer!
L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Andie’s Rose Carmine.
