What is the most expensive beauty product you've purchased?

What is the most expensive beauty product you’ve purchased? Was it worth it?

I purchased a Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscope palette ($95), and given the size and quality of the eyeshadows, yes, definitely worth it.

MUFE Flash Palette, and I believe it was $95 at the time. I’ve used it for just about everything (although I originally bought it to use as eyeshadow bases), so it is *definitely* worth the price. It’s also extremely pigmented, so the tiniest amount is needed, therefore, despite the “small” wells, you really do get a lot of product.

Face Product: Sisley- eye cream, Creme de Mer and Santa Maria Novella face creams. They are all about the same price.
Face Color: Guerlain- Pucci Blusher/Bronzer and Tom Ford eyeshadows- same price, although 20 years ago, I bought YSL loose face powder and it also was 75.00. The container is so beautiful and I still have it.

as long as it doesnt include perfume, brushes, tools, etc, I cant recall the exact prices but either the Dior holiday or even the Mitzah palettes (I have way too many sitting in a drawer but they are pretty!) or the Nars bento box, so as collectibles they are worth it, but as actual products to be used, um.. no. Brush- yah some of my Hakuhodos were over $100. One brush that wasnt worth it= Nars Botan ($75 and too cumbersome and scratchy).

I think my most expensive product, would be Chanel Joues Contraste blush, great quality absolutely worth it. My second most expensive product would be Ysl Rouge Volupte lipstick, just plain amazing, I adore it, and such gorgeous packaging. 😀

Currently, it’s my Guerlain Meteorites ($56). I haven’t quite gotten my value out of them yet since I’ve been incredibly busy with work and schooling, but once things even out next year, I’ll be more apt to include them in my regular routine rather than just special occasions. 🙂

Illamasqua Skin Base for $41AUD. I just can’t afford to buy expensive things. Totally happy to keep buying it, despite my previous efforts to find cheap alternatives for major make up items.

I purchased Fysiko eyelash serum, it grows eyelashes and eyebrows, it is $139.00 per tube, but worth it, as I have huge eyelashes now, saved lots of money on extensions…

Arcona Night Breeze $52. I’m sure I got a discount bc that’s just me, but I do remember having anxiety about such a high-cost single item. I’m not sure yet if I’d repurchase, but there’s still a ton left and it does smell like the most magical thing I’ve ever put on my face, lol.

I’m thinking it was a Sephora pantone collection pallette, and it was $58.00. If perfume counted than it would be Lady Gaga’s at $59.00. But, yeah, I think that’s as pricey as I ever bought.

Smashbox Halo powder (£45), considering it was exactly the same as a Mac MSF natural and i could have bought two MSF’s naturals for the same price and have some change, it wasnt worth it.

My YSL 5 colour eyeshadow palettes, Guerlain Meteorites, Guerlain Rogue G lipsticks to name a few. Yes the prices of these items fall on the other end of the spectrum compared to other more affordable brands but the quantity (especially the Meteorites) and quality is to the roof. Don’t get me wrong, I do have drug store brands but usually when I buy high end makeup I do an extensive research and testing in the store before I buy it. Therefore, its worth it for me since they definitely have a huge pay off.

I think it was Chanel Sublimage ( at that time 260 € or so ) but I am not sure. Anyway it was quite disappointing ! Now there are at last 2 different textures and the excellent Sublimage l’Essence which is highly expensive though ( I had a sample, very very good product indeed )

I paid $108 for my Guerlain Terra Inca Sublime Radiant Powder (crazy Norwegian prices).

I know I have purchased more expensive skincare products, but don’t remember product/price.

The refillable Météorites Voyage compact from Guerlain. I had a coupon but still it was so much. I know some people either love it or hate it, but I’m definitely one that loves it.

IZ Avatar

I think it would be my Urban Decay 15th Anniversary palette, which was $55.
I don’t use it so I probably could have gone without, but I still am glad I bought it.

Hmmm – probably Guerlain’s Cruel Gardenia highlighter. I was obsessed with owning it and now, I rarely use it. I should haul it out and use it more often.

BooBooNinja Avatar

Guerlain Cruel Gardenia illuminator. It was $76. At first I couldn’t bear to use it and eventually sold it after realising I have a highlighter I already love.

SISLEY BLUSHES around 60 Euros each.
SISLEY is the QUEEN of BLUSHES for me and are so totally worth it as i find them much better texture, finish and longevity than Chanel, Burberry and other high end brands.

Aside from perfume, skin care and tools, the most expensive single makeup item was probably my Naked 2 palette. I love it and am considering picking up the original too. It’s so versatile.

Saira Avatar

I dont know if it counts as a tool or product but my temptu which was $280 plus tax… And also my dior air spray foundation for $62…both of them totally worth every penny though 🙂

If we are talking strictly makeup; then my Chanticaille Tiger in the Wild Palette at $78. Beautiful, creamy eyeshadows and very flattering blush. But, if I had to do it over, I wouldn’t have purchased it.
Otherwise it would be my Clarisonic. Totally worth it.

Beauty product??? I blew $250 on a small tub of Estee Lauder’s Re Nutriv Ultimate Anti-Aging Creme last year. $100 for the coordinating eye creme (which actually rocks pretty hard), and I don’t even want to get into how much I spent on the rest of the Re Nutriv line. I have to say, the Re Nutriv loose powder is one of the best powders I’ve ever used.

If by “beauty product” you mean “color cosmetics” then perhaps it was that Guerlain Cruel Gardenia highlighter, which I believe was about $70. It’s actually very nice, although I confess, I use my MAC MSFs far more often when highlighting.

If we are including beauty treatments, I’ve spent over $2k on eMatrix facials, and I can’t even say if it was worth it or not.

Smashbox primer – great but can live without it. Smashbox Luminizer, about $45 ? And now a must have, makes foundation wearable in Southern summers.

Forty something USD on a Guerlain lipstick last week. Great lipstick! Everything else is mass or MAC, but I may be in Guerlain trouble.

For makeup – probably my Naked palette for a one time price – although when it comes to price per ounce my YSL Glossy Stain in #10 is much more expensive!
For overall beauty my Clarisonice Mia – but it is totally worth it!

As far as make up, my most expensive product is my MUFE HD Foundation which cost me $40 at the time. However, the most expensive beauty product I own is my GHD flat iron. Luckily, I received it as a Christmas gift! So glad I received it because it does it’s job like no other iron I’ve ever used. LOVE IT!

I’m a student so…not a lot of discretionary money.

The most expensive thing I’ve bought is Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. Of course I’m very happy I got it, and somewhat regretful that I didn’t buy it sooner. (But oh well. At least I got it in the squeeze tube packaging, right?) So versatile, and better than anything I’ve tried for my very oily lids. I mix it with lotion to make my own liquid face highlighter, thus saving money after all. 🙂

The most expensive thing I own is a 5-eyeshadow palette from Lancome which I got for my birthday last year. I normally would not even buy a palette because I’m very picky and I hate the idea of buying a set of anything where I’m not in love with ALL the colors. But my mom/sister gave it to me, and fortunately I like every color in the set (Coral Crush). A year later and I still have more than half of the original amount of product left, so it was well worth it.

Of course, when I consider that I could have asked them to get me the Naked Palette for the same price, I start to feel sad…
