A rainbow! Having been sick for almost a week, with a nice sized haul waiting to get played with, needing to go out, and it was raining pretty good yesterday. The perfect storm for taking my KVD Pastel Goth out of the drawer to put rainbows on my lids! ?
We do have some great sunsets here in AZ , though! I’ve definitely done many variations of those, because out here the inspiration is never ending and ever changing!
That’s going to sound weird but a gloomy, rainy day! It inspired me to do a gray eye look with a dark, vampy lip.
A picture that my daughter posted on her Instagram page which was of the fall colors on her campus. The picture was taken last fall but she just posted it recently and since I stalk her Instagram I saw it and was so inspired by the rusts, greens, yellows and reds. I don’t wear a lot of these colors so decided to try it out. I have to say, I also did a look inspired by the 4-5 feet of snow in my yard and did a really light eye with KVD Thunderstruck and a red lip. I really liked how it turned out.
After seeing the peachy themed palettes form Too Faced and Kylie Jenner, I got inspired to do my own peachy look, with green eye shadow, peachy blush/lipstick, and gold highlighter –turned out quite well!
Ooooh that’s lovely inspiration, imo!
As I follow a lot of beauty instagram accounts and watch a lot of youtube a lot of my inspiration comes from there. The last inspired look I did was a black lid with a sparkly gold triangle in the middle (I don’t think I’m explaining this well). It was from a woman named Mykie’s (Glam and Gore on youtube) account for New Years (but I did this like two weeks ago). Gosh this was a long response!
Oooh I remember that look she did! It’s so gorgeous, I’ve been meaning to try it out. What did you use for the gold?
I know! I was like immediately obsessed! I used the Colour Pop Creme Gel Colour in “Dirty Talk”. I really liked the dimension and texture (in a good way!) that it gave my lids!
A colour, LANCOME Ombre Hypnose Mono – Eyeshadow – Petale De Roses.
Did a very rosy almost tired eyed and rosy cheeks on a model.
🙂
By the Dior ad. I recreate makeup for ads on my You Tube channel on a monthly basis, and that one was requested by a fellow blogger. Not a very good recreation though, I did struggle especially with the posing.
Love this!
An old pic of Winona Ryder for a true 90s inspired look not the Instagram idea of a 90s look 🙂
I was inspired today to wear MAC’s lipstick in Chili by a young woman who posted her look on Reddit. I was inspired by Temptalia reader Shannon, who recently got the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette and posted two looks on her beauty blog.
Oh gosh!! I’m SO happy, I can’t stop smiling 😀
I’m so glad my silly little looks inspired you Tammy!!
I’m not done fooling around with the palette yet, the love is still going on strong!!
I just recently saw a YT video by an Australian MUA (whose name I can’t remember at the moment) about concealing under-eye bags (I’m starting to get them) that took 4 steps, a process that I had never seen before. The 3rd step was strategically applying a very light shade of corrector (I used my YSL violet) in the line under the bag AFTER applying both corrector and concealer, and before applying setting powder. It worked well, and didn’t look unblended or caked at all. (But full disclosure: I only use a bit of corrector in step 1 on my innermost and outermost corners.)
The only thing I can think of is Autumn. It is my favourite season and I love pulling out the colours that are just to heavy and dark (in colour but more in “feeling”) than those I’d wear in the oppressive summer heat and humidity of Southern Ontario.
The group of awesome women here who took the time to share how they use the Chanel Empreinte du Desert quad. The quad is new to me, and I tried every single one of the suggestions. So much fun.
I noticed a few weeks ago a number of young women wearing a very clean, peachy, light eye look with black liner. I did that too.
I would like to read the suggestions about the different uses of the Chanel quad. The quad came to me by peculiar circumstances, generally I would not buy it because I’m not blonde. Thank you for your time and please ignore my bad english.
For me, it has to be the starry night sky; deep indigo nail polish with glitter, blue glittery eye shadow and a pale, nude lip.
My most recent inspiration was another makeup look! Like a tone on tone no makeup makeup look that was what I’d expect society ladies to have looked like in the Bronte novels. Regal but windswept.
I love the tone-on-tone look and do it all the time with either gray or rose shades. The look is very soft, natural and pretty. Love it.
This is so lame, but I’v been taking inspiration from my Modern Renaissance palette! I’v worn it every day but yesterday since I got it 8 days ago!!
Also I’v been wearing a lot of light, springy greens. Because where I live, we’ve had feet of snow since October. So I am SO ready for May, when the snow will be all gone!!!
I recently picked up the modern renaissance palette and I’m obsessed with it too.
Roses!
It sounds silly, but the movie La La Land got me into a really colorful mood! Lots of springtime colors with natural-looking skin and lips, along with old-Hollywood makeup as well.
This sounds like a good inspiration! And the makeup looks you got out of it sound lovely!
Autumn looks always inspire me -with olive green, neutrals and golds with a coppery cinnamon lipstick.
I also like the nautical look of navy and grey eye shadow with a bright red lip too.
Your reviews and ‘looks’ inspire me! Specifically the blue/green eye from bh cosmetics was the last one.
Thanks!!

That’s amazing!
Right?? I love this woman’s makeup looks.
A beautiful old soft focus photo from a Biba campaign from the 70s. I think it was by Sarah Moon. Porcelain skin, a very thin faint eyebrow, a dark smokey eyeliner with a glossy highlight and a berry stained cupids bow lip. Adorable.
Rummaging in my makeup collection, I found some older duochrome blue-brown eyeshadows and pigments and experimented with doing a duochrome with matte brown on the outer third/crease and a little champagne on the inner corner. Not terribly exciting, but I sometimes find “shopping at home” inspires me, esp when fashions change and I have more added to my collection.
New Mexico sunsets aren’t too shabby. I agree with Dianne, the movie La La Land inspired me to do a peachy lid with a bit of soft taupe in the crease, black liner and Chanel’s new Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur lip color in Framboise. Love these new crayons. The color is richly pigmented and surprisingly lasted all day with only one small touch up. I’am also quite often inspired by Christine’s combinations of eyeshadow color.
Great question! For me it was yesterday’s sneak peek of Colourpop’s spring collection. I used my TAF sweet peach palette to create a look. Georgia transition in the crease, white peach brow bone highlight, bless her heart in my outer crease and outer bottom lid,Bellini in center of lid and nectar as inner eye highlight. Bless her heart and Georgia on my bottom lash line. UD Roach 24/7 eyeliner in my water line.
Autumn, for sure…..but Autumn in places with 4 seasons. In Texas we don’t really get very much of that so I’m always doing an autumn look when the mood strikes year round.
One has been I think by Emily Noel using WetnWild Comfort Zone I never fell for greens but these have a golden/bronze to them that makes them a dream! Another blogger which inspired me with was a reddish eyeshadow but I tried it and being pale I think I look like Michael Jackson in The Thriller. I still will wear it and mix with silver with a grey sweater though but being careful! Trying to experiment with reds and sunsets. But I should stick to rose and purples and these Comfort Zones in hazel eyes.
All the pastels coming out for spring inspired me to mix some in with my usual brights. I used the peach, gray, and blue from KVD Pastel Goth with cobalt winged liner and KVD A Go-Go on my lips. I liked it!
I really love Patrick Ta and Hung Vanngo so their IG accounts really inspire me.
