UOMA Black Magic Metallic Shine Lipstick in color Mother. Gorgeous color but I just couldn’t deal with the glitter in it, which migrated to my chin and other areas. I couldn’t get it to work no matter what. It’s unfortunate because the metallic aspect alone would have made this be a very flattering shade. I didn’t keep it and based on this experience have decided that I’ll never again buy any lipstick with glitter in it.

Actually this rare beauty blush in the pix. I saw it listed as a new innovative formula and tried it again. Patchy!!! But I went on to work no one could tell with a mask on!😊

A Clinique lip crayon in Curviest Caramel. It’s supposed to be brown, but turned the most atrocious shade of bubblegum pink on my lips I couldn’t use it. When I wiped it off, it was brown on the towel. Magic 🀨

That’s why I miss being able to try lipsticks in store. Every color looks totally different on me than swatches or other people lips.
Sometimes I use temptalia as a reference, just because I know how to compare myself with Christine. 😁 Everything pink or purple looks more purple on me, everything yellow or white based looks more yellow or white on me (and looks bad), cool tones reds usually look similar, etc.

And nothing can save me if the color is unflattering on me.

Ana Maria, I am exactly the same. Lots of lipsticks change colour on my lips – it must be my weird lip chemistry. I can no longer buy red lipstick because they all turn a bright pink on me. The only kind of reds I can wear are red/orange shades. It is so annoying and I understand how you feel too.

I’m finally going to talk about it…my failure with PML Subversive III Mothership. What I never told anyone up until today was that I only kept it for 3 months. Trying to get cohesive looks from it that didn’t look like I was going clubbing was next to impossible. Look, I love dark eye looks, bright eye looks sometimes, creative, edgy ones too. But everything I got out of it made me look like Cardi B in her stripper years!
Saddest part? I actually MISS that crazy palette so much that I sometimes feel the urge to purchase it again, LOL!

Nothing really recent comes to my mind, but I am constantly annoyed by the fact that MAC In Extreme Dimension mascara dries out so fast… I love the mascara, have it multiple times, but can’t seem to use one for more than 2 months before drying out and get those spidery lashes. I know people that specifically let their mascaras dry out… I like them more liquid! πŸ˜…

I mostly repurchased items this past year, so I didn’t had to make anything work. But at the beginning of 2020 I tried for the first time a classic pencil for the eyebrows (I was previously a fan of tear drop shaped ones), the MAC Veluxe Eye Pencil. At first I had troubles getting the shape right, but I practiced until I got the shape right.

My only recent kind of fail was buying Maybelline’s Copper Charge lipstick – which looked on me nothing like the pics on the internet. It was absolutely pale as and tugged at my lips when trying to apply.
Another fail was Bite Beauty’s Nori lipstick – way, way too dark for me and difficult to apply as well.
PMG’s Mini lipsticks trio – just awful. A waste of money. Could not get any colour out of them.

Just today! Becca Ignite highlighter in Passion. It’s a liquid highlighter that comes in a tube. First, I squeezed a little bit and just got WAY too much out…then I tried to blend it and found it has a lot more slip than I’m used to with highlighters. It wound up way up on my temples, somehow. The color was actually pretty, so I was still considering keeping it when it started to make my face itch and that was the last straw. I tossed the tube in a bag to give to my BFF. Thankfully, it was in a group with other products I DO like so I didn’t pay too much for it.

I finally received my PM lipsticks. I ordered three on sale in November and it took them almost 6 weeks to arrive, which would normally mean I wouldn’t be ordering off her site anymore, even with free shipping.
But as I have nowhere to be, no lipstick to wear it really didn’t matter.

Matterance Peep Show, gah!
I confirmed on your site, read reviews, looked at swatches…
Not only does it turn a weird chalky apricot-y on me, but I cannot get it to cling to my inner lips, so, as soon as I smile, you see a very disturbing and obvious line. I’m used to that with many liquid lippies, they wear off from the inside out after a while, but that I cannot even get this one to cling to start is terribly disappointing.
Luckily the two others, Blitztrance Skinsane and Naked Kiss work.

Oh no, I have Peep Show on the way! Perhaps I will return it, chalky apricot sounds awful. I’ve also gone bananas on that sale (I seem to keep going back and ordering “just a couple more”, I have so much black tissue paper now!) and have really liked all the shades I’ve gotten. I find that they do ok under a mask, especially the mattetrance shades, so I wear them every day even if nobody sees. I wear them for me, anyway.

I’ve managed to get Urban Decay’s Naked Ultraviolet palette to work for me by roughing up some of the pans and re-pressing them (I only do this to half of each pan). It leads to a little more fallout during application but with primer and setting powder it wears fine. It’s not quite the relaxing and magic experience of using Viseart or Pat McGrath but it’s adequate, I’d bump its grade up to a B minus. I tried this with Huda Purple Haze palette as well (on the shades that failed) but it didn’t work, so instead I depotted the three shimmer shades that had decent scores and got rid of the rest.

Surratt Dew Drop foundation. Bought this a few days before Barneys closed or would have brought it back for a replacement. Cannot get the liquid foundation to come out of the very interesting dispenser. So disturbing because it has a few times, but not at others and it was lovely and it was $$$ … 😩
