It really does suck. At least you got to return yours! I’ve been trying to use mine up. I’ll definitely go back to MAC after I’m done with the Bobbi Brown one…

Emily Avatar

It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Celebration shadow palette. The second of their neutral matte palettes. I like the first one but don’t really use it much. I hardly wear eyeshadow at all anymore, and when I do, there are other palettes I like way more. I have no idea why I raced to buy this one. I’ve literally never even used it.

Cindy Avatar

Benefit They’re Real Push-Up liner. At first I really liked it and thought it was easy to apply, although slightly lighter than Urban Decay’s 24/7 liquid eyeliner in Perversion. I wore it a few times and all was well. Then I didn’t wear it for a few weeks, went into my makeup case to use it, and it was all dried out! Very disappointing.

Katherine T. Avatar

NARS Eye Paint in Porto Venere. It creases on me, and the color is too pale and pink for the skin around my eyes, so it emphasizes shadows and dark circles rather than hide them:( By the time I realized it, the return period was over. I’m hoping someone will come out with a new eye primer that will make it work on me. Or I could try to re-purpose it as a light cream contour on my face, since my face is lighter.

xamyx Avatar

Have you tried the Kat von D primer? I don’t have oily lids, so it’s a bit drying for me, but it does really hold up on long days when it’s very hot & humid. The packaging is a squeeze tube, so you may be able to pick up a sample at Sephora.

Katherine T. Avatar

Thanks for the tip! No, I haven’t tried the Kat Von D one yet, but I’m always on the prowl for eye primers. Will give that one a try, thanks again!

tini Avatar

I have oily eye lids and as if that’s not enough I have hooded eyes too, so you can imagine I have a hard time making my shadow stay. I have used the UDPP, Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ochre, Lorac Primer, Mac 24h Eye Base…..none of them have worked for me.
I apply my eye shadow in the morning and expect it to last at least 10-12h. Up until now the only base I can rely on is the Nars one. It has happend that my eye shadow has creased anyway, but for 90% of the time I’m safe with the Nars one!

Katherine T. Avatar

I feel your pain!! My eyes are oily and one is hooded too, so shadows tend to fade, crease, or slide off. I know NARS works on many people, but it didn’t work on me, but thanks for the tip, might help someone else. The only 2 that work on me consistently are Bare Minerals 5-in-1 Advanced BB Cream Shadow w/SPF 15 (the shade linen is my skintone so it’s a concealer too) and Fergie’s Wet-N-Wild Take On the Day Primer. The BM one is a little tacky, so it grabs on to shadows well, and the Fergie one is thinner and lighter. If you haven’t tried them, might be worth a shot.

Nancy T Avatar

Oh, I LOVE that Wet n Wild Fergie eyeshadow primer! Nothing ever even attempts to crease on me with that one underneath, although I have yet to have it on during one of our 110-120° days during AZ monsoon season, hopefully it continues to hold up. Hooded oily lids here, so I feel the pain of others dealing with this.

Katherine T. Avatar

Yes, us oily lid gals know the pain. If they ever discontinue that Fergie Wet N Wild primer, I’m going to stockpile a warehouse full of it! LOL

GG Avatar

Hourglass Veil Primer – I should’ve tested it more extensively in Sephora. Bought it to deal with my texture issues (pores mostly) and it wasn’t until I tested a bunch of different ones today that I realized how ineffective it was on me. It’s so funny how our individual skin chemistry can turn one person’s holy grail product into a meh. Glad I only bought the $16 travel size, and that I’ve found a replacement that looks promising (Smashbox’s purple polka dot one).

Nancy T Avatar

Believe it or not, Clinique All About Eyes Rich. After trying samples of Fresh Black Tea eye cream and the one by First Aid Beauty that is tinted peach, and seeing the HUGE transformation in how my crows feet are now barely noticeable, the bags and circles too are less noticeabe using the Fresh one p.m. and the FAB one a.m. So yeah, basically feeling ripped off.

kjh Avatar

The FAB triple duty eye remedy? It even seems to work as concealer primer/concealer w/ TM and as an eye shadow primer. It’s just about the only thing i use that is not Paula’s Choice. Good stuff.

Nancy T Avatar

Yes, that’s the one!!! Love it for daytime because it not only de-puffs the eye area and smoothes out fine lines, it hides my dark inherited circles too!

Natalia Avatar

I usually don’t buy anything without researching or/and thinking hard about it first, so I rarely/almost never regret buying smth. After giving it a good thought, however, I think I can say that I do regret buying MUFE Aqua Liner. It clung to my eye lashes, was impossible to correct a line once it was drawn and the finish was reminiscent of a film (I did not like it, But I’m sure s/o definitely might). The only plus I found was it did not budge or transfer whatsoever and was not too difficult to remove with oil makeup remover.

ilovemakeup Avatar

The IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palette. I thought I’d use it all the time, but I usually go for my Lorac Pro 2 or Naked 2 or 3 instead. It’s okay, just not very pigmented and I haven’t had luck making the shadows a little more shimmery with that shimmer strip or whatever. It always seems to lighten them up more than I want. I didn’t have a lot of matte shades, so I figured this would be the perfect addition to my collection to start using them, but it just hasn’t really worked out for me. I love everything else by IT that I own, though!

Mariella Avatar

Probably Clinique’s “Jenna’s Essentials” quad. It’s 4 neutrals (ha-big surprise, right) and there’s nothing really wrong with it but it’s just not very exciting and for some reason, I don’t reach for it, preferring Naked2Basics or a MAC self-made quad when I’m in a rush and want a no-brainer.

Camille Avatar

I read a lot of comments on this palette before buying it and believe it had terrible quality control. Some of the palettes seem to have been high quality and some of them, very dry; the reviews were radically different depending on which ‘batch’. I bought it because I knew I could easily return it if I got a bad one, but was lucky. It behaves like my Nars singles. Sephora will give you store credit for it indefinitely – even now you could exchange it for something else that you’d actually like!

Rachel R. Avatar

I don’t regret buying the palette, but the shadows in mine were much drier than I was expecting. Not powdery or anything, just not creamy or buttery, either. The pigmentation is great, and wet they’re stunning. From the reviews I’d read, though, I was expecting a really exceptional texture.

Wednesday Avatar

Hey Camille and Rachel: I do not think I received one of the ‘duds’. The pigmentation is quite good on the palette and the payoff is decent. It’s the shimmer I do not like. I’m rather picky about the type of shimmers I use and this is a formula where I find the shimmer just that smidgen too much and it looks garish on me and worse, ugh emphasizes my eye texture. I’m not a fan. I’ve been a huge NARS supporter since the beginning and I have many of their single and duo shadows which I absolutely love. Unfortunately, I’m not feeling it here which was rather unexpected.

Rachel R. Avatar

Ah, I see. Sorry I misunderstood. I hope you can either make them work for you, or get a store credit to buy something you love.

Rachel Avatar

Definitely, the Too Faced Natural Matte Palette! I’m in the shade Benares in NARS ( dark/warm) for reference. It swatches really well, but all the shadows just look a little dull on me. I can’t use the palette alone, which is what I hoped to do.

Natasha Avatar

I bought the Nude Dude palette and I wish I hadn’t. There are light matte colors and darker matte colors but no matte colors to tie them together. 🙁 I use my Tartelette palette over this one and only go to it for a few of the shimmery colors and I only do that just so I don’t feel bad for buying it.

Sheb Avatar

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush. I got excited and bought two. Just… ugh in application and pigmentation, plus I broke out in hives.

Christina D. Avatar

Laura Mercier Watercolor Eye and Cheek palette. If it was inexpensive, I would have been OK. But given the price point, not even close to worth it. With the exception of the Artist’s Palette, I have found most of LM’s products to be disappointing, again, given the price point. I think I’m done with Laura Mercier.

MissJae1908 Avatar

Definitely the Smashbox Photo Op Eyeshadow Luxe Palette. I bought it for really cheap when it went to clearance at Ulta back in January. I have never even touched the thing! Plus it’s heavy and huge. Same thing applies to the Too Faced Joy to the Girls Palette. I used it once in November and I haven’t touched it since…

Candice Avatar

At least it was clearance but it was completely an impulse buy at Winners a couple years ago.. A couple years ago, an eyeshadow palette by a brand I recognized by name – I just wanted to give it a try. It had a slightly cushioned rectangular brown packaging, had 3 round shadows in it, but had a small round middle which was a different complementary colour (so really it had 6 eyeshadows). Something royal or monarch or highness, I need to pull it out and remember who made it! I never really liked it or used it so it wasn’t a good purchase for me.

Olivia Avatar

I just bought a Too Faced Melted Fuchsia lipstick and I am SO disappointed. After so many raved about it, I had enormous expectations. Well the one I bought was oily and super sheer. Your pictures and description were exactly the opposite of what I got. Sadly, one bad batch ruined it for me and I probably will not buy them again. I am positive that the one I got was a bad one. But I am still too chicken to try them again haha. So I got the Urban Decay Anarchy instead 🙂

Rachel R. Avatar

Hi, Olivia. Did you try kneading the tube? Sometimes, the product separates a little when it’s been stored for a long time. It can help to shake and knead the tube to remix it.

Sadra Avatar

I think I’ve purchased, and subsequently given away 3 or 4 Too Faced palettes. I’ve finally given up on them. The pigmentation is so weak that it’s just not worth having around. I’ve finally learned my lesson, and avoid their palettes altogether.

Kimber Avatar

I had to exchange their Boudoir eyes palette. It just applied patchy and had no pigmentation for me. I love their original Natural eyes, face primers, and other face powders, bronzers, and highlighters though.

Meghan Avatar

Sephora’s 10HR wear perfection foundation. the shade I bought was way too light and one pump was so thick! I couldn’t blend it into my skin at all. I returned. I wish I had the guts to return more stuff though! I get kind of complacent and will hide stuff away in my stash, even if I’m not drawn to it.

Tigerlily Avatar

GOSH Forever Eyeshadow jumbo pencil in Green. It pretty much started creasing during application (!) and it made my not overly sensitive eyes water throughout the day. Like Christine once joked about the NARS jumbo pencils, I may have to use it to write down my groceries list or something!

xamyx Avatar

I buy mostly in-store, so I get a feel of what a product is, so I rarely have any regrets… That said, I bought the UD Mariposa palette a few years back because I really wanted one particular shade, and it was out of stock at Sephora. Looking back, I should have waited; I ended up getting it in the Smoked palette, and the texture/pigmentation is sooo much better.

I also have a couple of Smashbox & Too Faced palettes, and while there’s nothing wrong with them, I just don’t use them… Also, Stila In The Light…

Raeanne Avatar

I returned two products recently. One: Too Faced sweethearts blush in candy pink. It has such great reviews on both Ulta and Sephora, but I found it to be sooo powdery, not creamy, and the bulky packaging didn’t even have a mirror! I just couldn’t justify the price for a quality I considered to be more drug-store like. I also returned the Marc Jacobs nude lip gel in Moody Margot. It applied unevenly and didn’t have good pigmentation, even for a sheer formula. I’m still searching for that perfect sheer wash of brown/nude for softer summer looks… Have an extra $60 to work with now! LOL

Lotus Avatar

Definitely the NARS All Day Luminizing foundation! It was awful to work with & just had zero natural quality to it! My skin also reacted, so I called NARS, and they are kindly helping me out even though I did not purchase directly from them. So nice! 🙂

Lotus Avatar

I’m so sorry you had a bad experience too. Thank tou for saying so, though. The hype surrounding it and supported is so unreal to me that I felt alone in my findings. I’m glad I passed on the Narcissist after reading your post. I had a feeling.. I’m sorry that displeased you as well. 🙁

Katherine T. Avatar

Lotus, you’re not alone in disliking the NARS All Day Weightless Luminous Foundation. The reviews on it are very mixed, people seem to either love it or hate it. I tried to make mine work 10 different ways, gave up, and returned it. It is probably the trickiest, fussiest (and maybe worst) foundation I’ve ever used. The wear was pretty good, but it didn’t make me luminous, kind of flat with a weird finish (never dried down, never became one with my skin), and it clung mercilessly to every dry patch, even ones you didn’t know you had. And it hated every powder and primer I used on it. So glad I could return it because it was so expensive.

Lotus Avatar

Thank you, Katharine! While I realize it seems a product either loved or intensely disliked, spit responses, I had the same problems like you and was just dumbfounded! I agree that it’s awful, possibly worst, considering the claims.. While NARS told me they’d help me, it’s not occurred yet, but it takes time and I hope they do! It’s not cool that I was too sick, all of a sudden, to try it out in time to return.. But it seriously should not have left my face red after removal! As for price.. If a formula is actually nice to me and does what I need, being I don’t wear full makeup every day, I will pay whatever it costs! Example: CdP, By Terry.. My skin color is a hard match & I’m sensitive. I’ve honestly never had luck with any NARS base products, but I felt this would be different. I love blushes, lilies, and eyeshadows., this was just frustrating! It shouldn’t take that much work and still not set or do anything.. How sad. I’m glad I’m not alone. 🙂

Meghan Avatar

I know there was a lot of hype around it, but I thought reviews were split pretty 50/50. Foundation is certainly a very personal thing! I liked it so much I wore it on my wedding day a few weeks ago! 🙂

Glad NARS is helping you out though! That’s good customer service!

Lotus Avatar

Meghan, it definitely seems split! Foundation is very personal, I agree! So far, I’ve not received the call back, but I’m going to give them plenty of time before I call again. That is great customer service and brands should be concerned when their products burn people. Haha. Some of us are restricted to online shopping, so it’s difficult. Here’s hoping. 😀 I’m glad it worked THAT well for you that you wore it on your wedding day! Wow! Congratulations on that & thank you for sharing! I’m sure the pictures are beautiful! 🙂

Marissa Avatar

it’s been a while because i now read reviews to be somewhat prepared. but i bought an 5-pan-eyeshadow of wet and wild’s color icon (the 393A) and even though the base color itself makes all the palette worth the price, the rest of the eyeshadows were awful, falling out, so powdery and a mess on the lids 🙁

other memorable ones were a black jumbo pencil called ‘master smoky’ from maybelline, it had a spongy thing on the other side to ‘help’ you make the smoky effect, the problem was on the spongy part because when you tried to blend the pencil, it was so stiff and it hurt your lids, the friction made you feel you were burning your eyes or something, and last but not least mac ‘hue’ lipstick bc i feel it’s too nude for my complexion #washedout

Blue Avatar

Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara. The brush is pretty nice–kind of similar to Benefit They’re Real, so it is good at brushing apart clumps, but it also has a little rounded spiky bit on the end that looks kind of like a flail and is good for precise application in sparse parts. The bummer is the formula which has been flaking on me every day for a week.

Gillyflower Avatar

Hourglass ambient powder. I got a single when they were between trios…I missed them, then a few months later they relaunched. Grrrr….

But even if I had gotten it, I have to say I’m unimpressed. I couldn’t see what it was doing, Mac msf is so much better as a powder, and because for highlighter.

Janie Avatar

Clinique’s redness solutions relief cream. I used it for over a month and saw absolutely no change. Grr! Their undereye circles treatment doesn’t seem to do much either. CeraVe night lotion and a periodic DIY oatmeal and yogurt mask are more effective for redness for me. (I’m a super-pale, allergy-prone brunette living in a dry climate – in other words, redness treatments’ worst nightmare.)

Stephanie Avatar

just a quick fyi, but Origins Mega Mushroom line, especially the serum and face cream, works really well at controlling the reactive redness/rosacea I seem to have. It keeps my face from flushing and might be worth checking out for you. Pricey, but worth it.

Melissa Avatar

Guerlain Ombre Eclat Eyeshadow Primer. It sucks compared to the MAC paint pots I already had and loved, it was an impulse at the counter and every time I look at it, I get angry for wasting so much money on something so mediocre.

Beary Avatar

MAC Face and Body Foundation–and I heard great things about it. It somehow made my sahara-dry skin crazy dry skin crazy greasy and offered next to no coverage, even through my attempts to build it, which made for great cake face.

Ciara Avatar

Ditto on the Face and Body for me. Little to no coverage, greasy and splotchy. Plus the girl who helped me pick a color got it so wrong, which added to hot mess it turned out to be.

Ciara Avatar

Where do I begin? UD De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray did the exact opposite of it’s claims and made me shiny and my makeup slide like no other. Model in A Bottle is the truth on that front. MUFE HD Microfinish Powder gave me the Casper the Friendly Ghost white cast in photos when I used it to set their HD Foundation, which is my Holy Grail. IT Bye Bye Under Eye looks flawless in natural light but does the same with a white cast to me in pics. Same reason I had to stop using Bare Minerals, they started using mica which gives a white cast on tan and darker complexions.

Monica Lane Avatar

I totally agree. They suck the life out of your lips and show every line and crease. Stila liquid lipsticks are much better quality and finis

IRockFaces Avatar

I have two. The venus palette from lime crime cost me more than just money when someone hacked my info and tried to steal thousands of dollars from my account thanks to their janky security they had in place. I was so pissed and they didn’t even have the courtesy to apologize or fix their mistake. Now I have to keep an eye out for someone trying to use my identity for good and that’s a huge headache all by itself. The second would be Melt’s eyeshadow stacks which look great on their site but aren’t very practical for everyday wear. Two of the colors were reds that look identical on my skin, the black I would never use, the grey shade is identical to the one in the lorac 2 palette, the purple took a lot to build up on dark skin also, and the golden peach shade only looked good with a base underneath. The only two shades left that were cool was the caramel one which disappears on my skin and the brown. That’s a lot of money for something with so few shades that were easy to use and flattering on me. It’s too bad, their lipsticks are super matte and nice… the shadows not so much.

Marissa Avatar

oh kristen i feel this deeply, some of the shades looked really interesting but as you said, the serious lack of professionalism of the company made me reconsider. I won’t ever buy from them either.

Sorry irockfaces that you had to get through that.

IRockFaces Avatar

It was a learning experience but the good news is most of their stuff is dupable and I have better quality products that I absolutely love. There are so many kick butt companies out there jumping on the liquid matte lip craze too. Ex: Jeffree Star, Abh, Kat con D, etc.

Sherri Avatar

The make up forever artist palette I guess everyone had such an awesome review on these shadows but they were honestly lacking in pigment and all shimmers! It turned out to be one of my least favorite pallets even though everyone says these are the best shadows ever

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

Clinique Color Pop+Primer.. The lipstick was fine but the color very chalky on me. Will return to Sephora. Most of my regrets are related to chalky effect of lipstick. I can’t tell until I put them on. I also have trouble with concealer and under eye coverage. This may be due to my application technique.

Sam P Avatar

Clinique Smart Serum. Not technically a purchase as it was a gift with magazine but I did buy the magazine especially for it so it kind of counts. I’d been dying to try that serum for ages but it smells so strongly – like smoked bacon crisps. Yuck! I just can’t bring myself to use it.

Soleil Avatar

Definitely a waste of money. Didn’t do anything to my spots and pigmentation, not even to the new ones that normally just fade away in time. It’s just a plain simple moisturizer that doesn’t even moisturize that much.

Daniele Avatar

There are a few: (1) Escada Born in Paradise perfume, does NOT stay on me. (2) Tarte Amazonian Brow Mousse, again – does not stay on me. I have VERY oily skin and NO eyebrows. This product is waterproof but not oil proof. I have yet to find an eyebrow product that stays on from morning til’ night. Most I can wipe off by the end of the day. (3) NYX – eyebrow pomade. Same reason, doesn’t stay on. I have tried EVERYTHING out there for my brows but NO LUCK with keeping them on past and through the oil. I will not even get started on all the primers I’ve used. So far NOTHING works…for more than a day, on my oily skin. I’ve long since given up on primers but that’s another story.

Rachel R. Avatar

Fortunately, I don’t often have makeup regrets. The last was either Melt lipstick in Dark Room or MUG eyeshadow in Unexpected. I can’t remember which was most recent.

Marissa Avatar

i actually have the dream fresh bb cream and even though the scent is quite odd i liked it a lot (it works for me but it doesn’t have a lot of coverage) … that until i got a sample of the hydra life bb cream from dior… the difference is big. BIG.

Lacie Avatar

I love them! I think it’s about finding the right mix, because when I first got them I messed around and had a few bad foundation days until I found my perfect mix.

Selina Avatar

Me too. It’s all about finding what works best. Did not work with my Laura Mercier hydrating primer but works amazing with IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream.

Sezea Khatun Avatar

MAC foundation! Dont know why I keep getting MAC foundations, they always oxidize on me 🙁
Does anyone else get this problem? I’ve tried almost all their foundations and they always oxidise on me. This never happens with other brands.

But I still love MAC, always will 🙂

Lee Avatar

Yeah, I get that problem with MAC foundations too, they always turn orange. Still use MAC for almost everything else but their foundations don’t work for me.

Meghan Avatar

I’ve only ever tried one sample of a MAC foundation, and that was just in April. I tried the Matchmaster liquid foundation in 1.5. At first I liked it & thought it was a great match. Then shortly after went totally orange! The SA gave me a generous sample & I couldn’t even finish it, it oxidized so much. I have yellow undertones anyway, but it just looked like a mask.

Genevieve Avatar

Probably Guerlain’s Les Vert’s eye shadow palette – not enough pigmentation in the colours. It was hard to get a review of it, but seeing as I loved Les Gris, I thought it would be fine. It’s good, but not as good as Lancôme’s Jade Fever.

Kat Avatar

Wet ‘N Wild Megalast lipstick in Bare it All. I know it’s like $2 and I don’t really regret it, but I don’t love it on me. I love the formula of it, and it looks great on other people, but I think I just can’t pull off nude lipsticks. I’ve been trying and trying for like a year to find one that doesn’t make me look dead, but I just can’t.

I think this is a regret, but also a good thing, because now I know what works and doesn’t work for me! I can wear more natural/MLBB shades, but not those pale or brown nudes that have been sooooo popular in the past year and a half.

In a similar vein I bought MAC Blankety (same day actually!), which was a total nightmare on me! It looked like I slapped a bandaid on my lips! I don’t “regret” that one though since I was able to exchange it this morning (I got Relentlessly Red, a gorgeous red-pink Retro Matte).

Kelly Avatar

Not sure if I’d go as far as saying I regret purchasing it, but I haven’t used my Viseart eye palettes as much as I thought I would. The formula is as nice as everyone says but the neutral matte palette has a lot of very warm shades that I just don’t use. Like super warm orange-y shades, not all of them but enough to make me not grab it much I guess. And the Bridal Satin one is nice but the colours just haven’t been inspiring me. They are nice to have in my collection (and I will totally buy the other two once they become available again) but for the price I should be using them daily! And maybe one day I will. Strangely enough I’ve been using my Naked3 palette almost daily the last few weeks, I got it shortly after it came out, then barely used it until now, I’m sure the same thing will happen with my Visearts eventually!

Meghan Avatar

I don’t regret buying the Viseart palettes either, and I own four… But I’ve barely used them and haven’t been reaching for them! I def have to make an effort to pull them out, because as you said, the price alone is worth using daily! 😛

Kelly Avatar

So funny this came up right now… I just got the emails from sephora a couple hours that the 2 I don’t have (sultry muse & Paris nudes) just became available, so of course I snatched those up too. My poor wallet. Now I really have to make a concentrated effort to use them! I’m more intrigued by these colours though so hopefully it won’t be a problem

Lynne Avatar

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown. I’ve been using her products for probably 20 years, I’ve always been Dark Brown in every single one of ’em and refused to believe the SA that I was Medium Brown with this particular one. And guess what. I looked like I was trying to do Amy Winehouse karaoke. Bought the Medium Brown a few days later, which of course is perfect, but can’t bring myself to toss the Dark Brown pot. It sits in my makeup vanity table taunting me.

Lee Avatar

From a year or two ago: the Urban Decay Vice 2 palette. There’s nothing really wrong with it but I haven’t found any combinations I love and I really don’t wear a lot of colored eye shadows much anymore anyways.
Other than that, a few MAC lipsticks. I love hot pinks but I’ve learned that unless they have a lot of blue, they will pull too red on me.

Monica Avatar

I recently bought one of NYX’s Nude Lip Creams. I love the formula and the color but the packaging is horrible. It’s a push-up crayon type product but the entire lipstick fell out the second time I used it. But because I love it so much, I thought well maybe it was just that one. Bought another one, and yes, same thing happened! So I guess I have two regrets 🙂

nana Avatar

I’ve heard that is a super common problem with their chubby sticks! Too bad because I’ve heard that the forumla and coloring is supposed to be really nice.

Rosie N. Avatar

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipsticks. The formula feels heavy, is pretty much impossible to reapply, makes lip lines stand out, and becomes a sticky mess after a few hours.

Nikki J. Avatar

I kind of regret purchasing the MUFE Profinish Foundation Powder. I don’t think it’s a bad product, however I’ve tried another powder foundation that works better for my skincare needs. I finished my previous favorite and was dying to try the MUFE powder thinking I’d like it better because I love the brand as a whole, but it just doesn’t perform as well in the longevity department or give me the finish I desire. When I finish my current compact, I’m going back to my old favorite!

Anne Avatar

I’m one of those people who waits and waits to buy something (most of the time), so it’s rare I regret buying a product (I also pretty much only buy things I can either get a sample of (usually if it’s skincare) or can test out in-store. The one thing I have regrets about was the holiday Tarte Kiss & Belle Lipsurgence set. The consistency of the chubby lip pencils were meh, the colors too common, and the lipglosses, which I already tend to avoid, were WAY too sticky and sparkly.

Dez13 Avatar

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but UD Vice 2 palette. I missed it when it came out and shelled out almost $90 for it on eBay (I know, I’m an idiot!) But the color Stash was in it, and I wanted that color badly, and it was not available anywhere else. I didn’t buy it just for that of course (I’m not that stupid) but it was a prompting factor. Stash eyeliner is my favorite eyeliner of all time. I’m not kidding when I say I get compliments every single time I wear it! My eyes are plain, boring, light brown, and Stash makes them golden; it’s wild. So I really wanted the eyeshadow of course. Turned out the eyeshadow was incredibly dry and powdery, by far the worst in the palette! Instead of looking gold green, it looked sheer, dull, greyish taupe! What the heck?!?

Since then I’ve found MAC Sumptuous Olive (I know it’s a classic, but I had never tried it) and it’s close to the color I hoped Stash would be, but not quite. I’m thinking of picking up the new MAC Extra Dimension eyeshadow in the Sea Worship color that looks to me like it might be comparable to Stash too. Christine, I’m going by your swatch of it; do you think it’s similar to UD Stash eyeliner?

Karen Avatar

The Stila Metallics eyeshadow. I used them once and made sure the lid was tightly closed. A few months later, I reached for one and it was rock hard. I tried my other one and it was the same. The only one that I have that is still usable is the Emerald color. The Merlot and the Copper were bone dry and there was no fixing them!

MELISSA R C Avatar

Benefits They’re Real Push up eyeliner because it’s super hard to work with. It takes forever for the product to come out of the tube and when it finally does, it’s too much and a waste of product. For $25 I wil stick with my MAC Fluidline. The eyeliner is sitting in my makeup holder collecting dust.

Colour Pops lipstick. I bought about 8 different ones and didn’t like any of them. I found all of the colors too cloyingly bright because of their strong white base. Bright lipstick colors look quite flattering on me, but not white-based ones like Colour Pop. I never knew this until I got the Colour Pop ones, so it was a good lesson in helping me figure out which lipstick colors to get in the future.

Kevyn Aucoin lipsticks! Smell and taste like you swallowed a whole bottle of perfume! Nauseating. Returned. They cost a fortune. Is it because the fragrance they use is expensive? Whatever, I’m NEVER buying any lipsticks from them again.

I agree that ColourPop lipsticks are a disappointment. Colors are very light and the lipstick is thick. I like the lip pencil I got, but the lipsticks really don’t work for me.

Agreed on the KA lipsticks. Such a disappointment!

I recently bought a Colour Pop Lipstick in Cherry Pop. The color is gorgeous & there’s more than enough pigmentation. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you.

Estee Lauder Vita Nutritious toner. It smells HORRIFIC & the scent doesn’t dissipate. I tried it in the store & I didn’t mind the scent, but on my face? FUHGEDDABOUTIT! I bought it at the CCO, which is 40+ miles from my house, so talking it back would be a PAIN! Plus, I could only do an exchange or store credit because they don’t do refunds. #majorregret

Maybelline the Blushed Nudes palette… I dont ever reach for it. And the few times I did , it felt incredibly fussy. Also, I think I hate my hair skin and nail vitamin( well hate is a strong word…. )

The Nars Orgasm-Laguna duo. After holding out for sooo long, I finally gave in and splurged on the travel size version of these “legends” as a Christmas gift to myself last year (What can I say? $24 for a mini size of *anything* feels like a splurge for me! LOL). Then after using it a couple times, I finally admitted to myself that I do NOT get what the big deal is supposed to be. It turned out that I already owned way more flattering blushes on me than Orgasm. As for Laguna… I don’t know, maybe I just don’t have enough appreciation for bronzers in general. But… why? Seriously, I really, really don’t get it! Thank heavens I didn’t spring for the full size version, or I’d *really* be kicking myself!
