We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Probably the Natasha Denona Glam palette (I didn’t buy it but got it as a Christmas gift after letting it be known that I really wanted it). It was reviews here and at Sephora and especially Genevieve’s encouragement that put this at the top of my wish list. For some reason, I think I’d like it a lot better if it didn’t have those “instructional” names and just had ordinary names or even just numbers for all the shadows. I don’t know why, but those “crease/lash line/inner corner” names just bug me!
Yes, the instructional names are so off putting and I have the feeling that ND won’t be making that mistake again…..
I just ignore them and focus on the shades – which I love. I also think this palette works well in conjunction with other, more colourful, palettes too.
The quality of the shades is what makes it good for me. I do hope you like it.
I bought No 7 Lift & Illuminate Finishing Powder bc Jessica Braun talked about it. Love it!
I like a lot Jessica Braun and follow her content, but I have totally opposite tastes to her. If she likes a powder or foundation, I know it’s a skip for me. If she hates the finish of something and it’s not a total failure (irritating, patchy formula, not long lasting), I might get curious to try it. 😅
I actually don’t really watch her content except for once in awhile. I mentioned her name but a few others mentioned the No 7 powder. It’s a really decent product. But I get it. I love Theresa is Dead on YouTube. I have bought a few things based on her glowing recommendations and they were utter garbage. I’m hesitant to purchase Kaleidos or Adept though they are pushed so hard from small Youtubers none of which (sorry not sorry) have particularly great taste or good makeup skills imo. Makeup is always a gamble though. Everyone has such different preferences and expectations. I try to just buy what suits me but every now and then I’m influenced. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes not.
Mine is also Terra Moons Eyeshadow! Someone I follow on Instagram wore it and I was at a loss for how beautiful it was, so I checked out the brand and just fell in absolute love.
Hi, Christine! 🙂 I love it when you review indie brands… 🙂 I hope to see Kaleidos, Menagerie, Shroud, Emme and Oden’s Eye the most. Well, actually… there’s one more brand. But it seems so impossible and I think it would be pretty cruel to even wait for you to do it, ’cause they have nearly a thousand shades!!! 😀 It’s Sigil Inspired Tammy Tanuka. Oh, but they are gorgeous!
I respect you so much, and I appreciate your never-ending effort. I wanted to say thank you for everything you do! (Sorry, my English sucks)…
UD’s Born To Run palette – I liked the look of it and that it was an all-in-one (at least for most of the eye look) and readers opinions on here helped make my decision to buy it. Plus it was on sale for half off at Macy’s awhile ago so I snatched it up!
I think, the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder.
Mel Thompson is always raving about it and it’s pretty expensive when you translate to CDN$ but I picked up a small size in a LE Christmas ornament (normally those types of seasonal packing do not appeal to me) to test and use on my undereyes and setting around nose and mouth.
She’s not wrong, that is a fine powder, I’ve used it everyday since I received it and it’s the best powder for aging eyes/fine lines. I really don’t get nearly as much crepe-y dry settling in any of those places anymore. I’ve got a lot of powders now, my second (formerly first) fave is Fenty’s Lavender for brightening, but this is one BY Terry I’ll def restock.
Absolutely the Natasha Denona Love Mini’s! Especially the very glowing (haha!) reviews of the cheek duo. I just knew I had to have it.
Another one has got to be the Rare Beauty Lip Souffles and Glossy Balm lip products. I love my Heroic and Brave shades very much. They dry down just enough to still wear my mask, but are completely non-drying to my lips. I definitely believe that I will love my Nearly Mauve Glossy Balm (?), too!
Nowadays I mostly repurchased my favorites, it’s been such a long time I actually purchased what someone recommended. As far as I remember, I think it’s almost years ago 😅 when I tried the Hourglass brow products, since I almost got bored how often Anna (from theannaedit) and Ingrid Nielsen mentioned them. Useless to say I fell in love with all, they are clearly better in my viewpoint than my old favorites (Benefit, ABH).
Kaleidos Club Nebula. Still waiting for it to arrive. I really like Kaleidos, I have all of their palettes except for Deepsea Luster. I really like the color scheme Angelica Nyquist came up with.
The Adept Plain Jane Palette. Several Youtubers I watch raved about it, and it looked gorgeous, so I pre-ordered it. It arrived yesterday.
Black Moon Cosmetics Cider liquid lipstick because of Beautbean. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out well because it’s so close to my skin tone…
Would love to see you try Devinah eyeshadows! I bought some over the holidays and I loved them! I wish you had more swatches for comparison’s sake. I feel like they’re so unique, but it’s so hard to guess.
I am so sorry to say this but with all of the billions of dollars spent on make up and skincare.. I RARELY see a woman with nice looking make up on… very rarely and I live in Atlanta. Unfortunately I see a lot of bad make up. I find its either excessive or barely any. Not a lot of meeting in the middle pretty make up. A few of my friends have given me some good skincare suggestions. I also find that many women purchase make up but do not know how to apply it. That is where youtube has make fortunes and helped a lot of us. I bought so much MAC.. never knew how to property apply eye shadow! I didn’t know that you needed eye shadow primer or concealer! all those years I was putting water on my eye shadow brush!!! :-/
Sydney Grace’s eyeshadows were purchased because of the recommendations here – especially Tiara, Cadet. Commission and Antique Coin.
In fact, all of my eyeshadows are purchased based on your recommendations Christine.
The Clionadh eyeshadows that Christine reviewed. Love them!
Nancy T.’s comment on here convinced me to buy MAC’s Natural Vice palette! I was already waffling about it, and her positive review made me go right to the website and buy it. I’ve never been so happy about an impulse purchase!
Kaleidos Nebula Palette collab with Angelica from Sweden on you tube and recommended by her.
I bought 2 other palettes and like their eye shadow formula although I hate ordering from China.
Just today, Glamlite Veggie Pizza and Taco palettes. To celebrate International Pizza Day and because I have ever heard of the brand. Also, appealed to me about the backstory of fat shaming. Hope they’re at least as good as my top Revolution palettes.
Natasha Denona Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette. About a year ago and I love it. Every time I wear it someone says something about my look. After watching Mel Thompson review I took a chance. Don’t regret it at all!! It’s making think about getting the 5 pan cranberry but have similar colors already UGHHHH….
