What was the last product that didn't work for you?

Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes! The formula was very different from the brand’s other palettes, and it did not work for me well!

Gave it away, so don’t know the name…that Marc Jacobs long palette with the cool tones, yarrrrgh. Thought it would be a workhorse. Esp the metallic shade, too emollient and skipped/poor blending. Also Viseart Liason. Very difficult to get acceptable looks, much less good ones. Not only was it lauded, but Viseart is usually easy for me.🤔🤔🤯🤯

Martine’s Mission Triple X eye shadow palette was a letdown for me. The looks I did were all similar and the matte eye shadows seemed thin, and the shimmers were lack luster. Surprised because I really enjoyed my other Martine 669 eye shadow palette. Will continue to try and work with it.

Due to my own stupid user error; Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipstick in Capricious. At first, I hated the goopy, very sticky feeling of it until I heard a YT’er mention that these do much better when applied in just one THIN coat, if still too sticky, blot lightly. It worked out in the end! My takeaway? Sometimes it’s not the product, but how we use it!

Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment; it was the absolute worst for me!
I used it religiously for a week (and no other products on my lips), but eventually, I had to stop. For me, it was one of the worst products I’ve ever used on my lips in my life! Upon initial application, it smelled good, felt nice on my lips, and was super shiny. However, once fully absorbed, it left my lips completely dry! As the week went on, they became completely parched, painful, and sore. I’ve honestly never had such a terrible reaction to a lip product, and needless to say, I’d never recommend it to anyone!

Odens Eye eyeshadow. It’s just a no for me. And basically any eyeshadow palette I’ve tried from Colourpop. Going Coconuts, That’s Taupe. I’ve decluttered everyone I’ve bought . Shimmers are terrible. Mattes ok. Got rid of every eyeshadow in my collection!

Urban Decay Vice Lip Bond in Text Em. The color is pretty, and I thought the new glossy formula would remove the dry, wrinkled look I normally get from liquid lips. No such luck! It’s still dry, just unpleasantly sticky. Unfortunately, I missed the return window so will likely offer it to my BFF who doesn’t have as many lip wrinkles as I do. I also just tossed the second GWP size of Maybelline’s Sky High Mascara, which does nothing for me and has been an annoying presence in a lot of GWP packages this year.

Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I have trouble with mascara smearing under my eyes, even when I powder. It looked great on my upper lashes though 😁

Dior backstage face and body foundation- i’ve heard so many rave reviews about it for years and I finally tried it but it just did not work for me – I tried all different primers, different brushes and sponges, different setting sprays etc, but it just wouldn’t work for me- it didn’t look that good on me and didn’t last very long. I do love their forever matte foundation though.

I love the Dior Backstage but I do have oily skin. In case it may change your opinion, I do think the best primer for it is the accompanying Dior Backstage primer but honestly I rarely use primer. Also I apply with a brush. Very little product is needed. You also imo have to like a soft matte finish

Dior holiday lipstick from a couple of years ago. It was gorgeous in both packaging and color but had a fragrance (violet?) that tasted like I was licking a grandma.

Also the Clionadh Dragon Fruit palette (not cohesive enough for me) and highlighter — it was too glittery and then completely fell out of the pan and exploded into dust.

A lipstick from Wet and Wild. I bought it some time ago, probably didn’t like it and put it away. I found it this week, tried it, the colour was a lovely sort of dusty light purple, the feeling on the lips wasn’t nice, it didn’t look flattering either, made the lips look smaller and dry-ish, and feel dry.
I tossed it.
