Pat McGrath SatinAllure lipsticks! They were solid, though not a personal must-have since they felt more like most lipsticks on the market.

I almost bought Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk (original) several times over the years, but changed my mind. I finally bought it a couple weeks ago and I’m amazed at what a perfect MLBB shade it is on me. But although the color is absolute perfection, I’m a little let down by the formula. It’s not as smooth and creamy as I thought it would be, getting into my lip lines and wearing off too quickly. Although I love the color, when I use it up I probably won’t buy it again for that price.
Agree Charlotte Tilbury lip products in my opinion are not a great formula and can be drying. Pillow Talk is a beautiful color but it’s drying . I have one of her Kissing lipsticks which is supposed to be creamy and I found it a bit drying too. Colourpop make better lip products imo and a much better price
i purchased these two at Dillards
Lancome Absolu Mademoiselle Amanda (253) which is a warm peachy nude, Estee Lauder PC Discreet which is a warm rosy-brown nude.
Ha! I saw a Lipstick Queen Frog Prince at Marshals. All sealed and not expired. I used it, it was ok. It really is a $2.00 lipstick, not worth more imo. It was never consistent. Sometimes it would be a pretty raspberry sherbet color, few days later almost a bright red. It was so so. If it were around I wouldn’t buy it, not even for 2 bucks.
Huge surprise, I’m sure – I found a tube of MAC Craving, my favourite lipstick of all time, marked down at Winners and grabbed it.
I think Mac is discontinuing that shade (along with one of my favs – Girl About Town). So go stock up 🙂
I forgot the “mini review” part! I love the Amplified Cream formula (unfortunately, there aren’t that many shades anymore than suit me) and this colour is just perfect for my pale, cool toned skin (NW 15 to 20). It’s a beautiful berry/plum shade and wear is really good, especially with Elizabeth Arden Lip Fix applied first. I must have purchased this lipstick at least 10 times, if not more.
OH NO – PANIC time….I just looked at MAC’s website and Craving is now in the Good bye’s section. What am I going to do??? I’ll have to get to MAC in the next few days and grab a few backups (I was by the MAC store just yesterday and entertained the idea of stopping in just to ensure that the impossible wouldn’t happen….I should have gone in because today I see that the impossible HAS happened and they’ve discontinued pretty much the BEST lipstick ever from my point of view!
OMG! And here I have been sitting on the fence waiting for the right time to purchase Craving all due to your glowing review of it, and knowing that it’s a favorite of many others!🤦🏻♀️ Looks like this can wait no longer.
I was like oh no! I don’t want to share bad news, but you gotta know 😭 I don’t know why they keep getting rid of the best shades.
Recently bought Dior lip glow oil..it is totally non sticky, very smooth and hydrating…loved the pink so much I immediately purchased the raspberry and the new peach! Excellent product. Lip liner and this and you are set…great for my desert living and dry air……
Paula’s Choice Lipscreen. I haven’t purchased a lipstick in a long long time. Anything I own right now is either a free gift with purchase or a Back-to-MAC gift. 😆
It’s my favorite lip balm. I love a versatile product, and the fact that it has SPF for day time, but it’s hydrating enough for night time it’s a big plus. It heals and soothes my lips immediately and the effect lasts a long time without having to constantly re-apply.
Clarins Lip Oil in Honey. Love, love, LOVE. Smells wonderful. Nice big doe foot applicator. Moisturizing and not sticky. Lips look shiny with a hint of color. Love an easy lip product!!
PMG Entranced SatinAllure–I am in love with Bridgerton and PMG so this was the perfect collision for me. However I was a little bummed that this formula doesn’t have a lot of longevity. Absolutely gorgeous spring color though and just on the border of my comfort zone.
I also recently gave in to the TikTok hype and tried Black Honey Almost Lipstick–color is amazing but takes a lot to build up and doesn’t last long on me.
PMG Guinevere–also just inside my comfort zone, this formula shreds and it can’t be beat by anything else.
Elizabeth Arden Advanced Lip Fix Cream. It just arrived yesterday, and I have to wait till I’m completely over this virus, so no review. Mariella’s glowing recommendation and a lifting of mask mandates convinced me to finally try it.
Same here Rachel! I have recently purchased the Lip Fix cream by EA and I have yet to try it too because I have had a little ulcer inside my mouth.
A few Carolina Herrera lipsticks because I could NOT resist those amazing fancy colorful (refillable) cases. The Matte formula is pretty good, but I don’t love it as much as Givenchy Matte Velvet. But the Sheer formula is terrific — it’s really quite pigmented, similar to LQ Saint or some of the NARS sheer lipsticks, far more pigmented than the Dior sheers in my stash. “Lucky Flush” is a true red softened with a hint of plum-brown, goes on glossy, wears down pretty evenly and leaves a bit of stain behind; “Fabulous” is a mid-toned neutral-to-warm nude on me, which I’d prefer leaned a touch more into the fig/prune range, but it’s not so warm that it looks weird and orangey on my very pink skin. The Mini Lip Tints are also quite nice, and they’re not THAT tiny (I think they’re .07oz? not too much smaller than typical lipstick of .1oz). The pH-reactive one is ok, tho the tint is very light/sheer indeed; the “Carolina” red is great. Smooth formulas all around, reasonable wear time, very light perfumey type scent (no vanilla, thank glob). Tempted to stock up on refills, as the only place I’m seeing these in the US is Macy’s!
I bought Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Éclat d’Amour and started using it this week. It is a nice neutral dark red. It is creamy, but I would have wanted to be more nourishing and when I blotted after a few hours the colour stayed inside the lines on my lips and disappeared between. Not top quality but I will use it still.
Pat McGrath new satin allure formula in Nude Romantique 2 (Cool Neutral Pink Nude):
1) change in size – 3.7g (vs 4g older formulas) – like everything else in her recent collections, getting smaller
2) color – excellent pink nude
3) formula – meh, staying power not as good as her MatteTrance and doesn’t have the same bang as her retired luxetrance or blitztrance formulas
I believe that the last one I bought and have actually had an opportunity to wear has to be ColourPop Peeps Lavender Lip Glow? Pretty sure, anyway. It looked gorgeous on, not so boldly purple that one looking at me would immediately think “purple”, but still, it was. It wore fairly well on my lips even though I was sipping water from a bottle and chatting it up with a friend. It had the added benefit of hydrating my lips for the 3 or so hours before I needed to do a small touch-up.
Now, today I just walked over to the complex mailboxes and retrieved my ColourPop Star Wars order, so sometime very soon I will be trying out Dark Lord Lux Lipstick and Imperial Lux Gloss. Here’s hoping that I love them both just as much as Peeps Lavender!
Charlotte Tilbury Nude Romance lipstick – in the fancy sparkly bullet. It was during the sale, I had a giftcard, and I *really* needed a special treat. At first I was disappointed that the color was too peach, but it’s actually pretty good and not like any thing else I have. Feels very grown up. The formula is fine. Not my fave, not my least fave, and at least it smells like vanilla.
Well…I’ve bought a few…
Pat McGrath Labs x Bridgerton Nude Romantique – it’s fine. Great application but I feel like it emphasizes texture on my lips
Hermes Lip Oil in Rose Kola and Beige Sapotille – I wanted to hate these and I absolutely love them. The smell, the feel, the sheer colour: they are exceptional.
Dior Lip Maximizer in Rosewood – it’s fine. Sometimes when I apply it, it burns. Not noticeable maximizing.
Gucci skinny Glow & Care Shine in Rosewood – dreamy formula, looks gorgeous.
Fenty Gloss Bomb Heat in Lemon Lava – smells like old lady menthol cigarettes. Hate it.
The last lip products I purchased werer the Shiseido’s Visionary Gel lipsticks in Firecracker, Lantern Red , Shizuka Red and Sleeping Dragon. My first thought when these arrived (I ordered them online) was how small they were and I was thankful that I was able to get them on sale.
I have tried each one of them and have found that they glide easily across my lips for a full burst of colour and feel quite comfortable to wear. Each one of them lasts about 2-3 hours on me and leave behind a muted stain on the lips. I can recommend this line, if you are after a comfortable lip product.
Mac Marrakesh lipstick
The most recent lipstick I ordered was Revlon Fire and Ice for $4.97 at Amazon. I don’t wear red lipstick often, but I was curious about the hype. I like it. It is a brightening, flattering shade (I’m cool-toned MAC NW 20), it has some warmth but not so much as to make my teeth look yellow, it is not at all drying, and it doesn’t settle into my lip lines too much. It lasts on me about 2-3 hours, but I drink hot tea all day. If you want a flattering red, no need to spend more. I won’t be using it a lot, but if I want a red, I now have one.
The Surratt Lipslique in Hevyn (cool beigy rose) and Victoria Beckham’s Posh Lipstick in Pout (pale coral pink) are my current absolute favourite. I did not expect this and I am tempted to buy more. They are long wearing and make my lips look fuller even without a lip liner. Another positive surprise is the new Dior Dior Addict lipstick, which I got in Beige Oblique, Patchwork and Coral Bayadère. The last one stays on a whole day without touch up. It has an amazing staying power. The other two fade a little easier, but they are gorgeous and the formula is so nice.
