A few months ago, when I went to the Guerlain store in Orlando with plans to buy Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick in Rosy Boop (which I did), they were having a half-price sale on La Petite Robe Noire Lipsticks, so I bought the shade Plum-brella. It’s beautiful! (Ok, I do admit to quickly looking up the Temptalia review on my phone while I was in the store, but it was still an impulse buy.)

Nars Carmen. I was looking for a subtle nude-ish (MLBB/ pinkish as I can’t wear nudes) and the SA said, oh, you have to try this on. I’m such a sucker, but I’m not sorry. It’s just the perfect red lipstick.

Drugstore foundations! I’ve always thought mid to high end foundations were “better” for formulation, lasting power, shade range (well, for some high end), but drugstore foundations have recently blown these out of the water! Walgreens CYO Lifeproof and L’Oreal Infalliable Freshwear have been amazing for shade match, lasting power, and beautiful formulation and finish, depending on what you’re looking for. Highly recommend. I’ve also heard great things about Maybelline Superstay but I tend to go for moderate coverage, satin to dewy finish, so I haven’t tried that firsthand.

L’Oreal Freshwear is my answer to the question. I had seen it reviewed but really didn’t have any intention to purchase it and then I was in Walgreen’s and decided to pick it up. It is really beautiful on my 65 year old skin. My only problem was shade matching as I couldn’t swatch so I just went with the lightest shade and surprisingly, it is too lite. For me, that is pretty amazing. I also think the shade I picked up pulled a little to cool/pink for my skin tone. I really love the formula, though. Hope it works for you.

I went to Ulta to pick up a couple of the new Buxom blushes and on a lark picked up a 4 pc. set of the Benefit Punch Pop! lip glosses. The glosses are really creamy and I personally do not find them sticky. I’ve liked all of the colors, including the coral one that I normally avoid because I don’t like warmer colors on my lips. It almost has me reconsidering coral in general.

I love this blush so much. Sadly, my butterfly is but a memory but I was surprised by how pigmented it was. I have to be careful about picking up too much on the brush and since you are pale like me, I imagine you have to be careful also. I know Chantecaille is really expensive but I don’t mind shelling out a little more money to help a good cause. After all, I have shelled out a lot of money for no cause, LOL! I am fighting buying the polar bear line. I really want to help the polar bears and I like the shades but it would be my second and last palette for the year so I have been resisting. Glad you liked it.

Pat McGrath’s Mothership Palettes…holy pigmented. The one’s I have are the more “wearable” ones, so I’ve worn them daily (Sublime [ii] and Bronze Seduction [v]). They are surely an investment, but for someone who is passed basic neutrals and wants something unique, these surpass all palettes I’ve used. The textures in these are surreal and catch the light SO beautifully, I literally get stopped on the streets and have people asking me what’s on my eyes. They last ALL day/sweating too.

Smashbox Punked Cover Shot Palette! I never thought anything this gray hued could work on me, but this does! The decision to buy it was an impulsive one for me, as I only mulled it over for around 24 hours before running back to Sephora to buy it. Wore all 3 purplish mattes and the pale shimmer and deep purple shimmer yesterday with Nars Calisto on my mid-lid. It was really a beautiful eye look!

Revlon Rose Glow Illuminating + Hydrating Primer, although I had seen it in-store a few times prior, picked it up, but changed my mind for various reasons… I’m glad I bought it, though, as it is literally everything I want in a primer!

A couple months back, I did grab the Wet n Wild Makeup Locker Foundation, which I hadn’t even heard of prior to stumbling upon it, and it turned out to be the perfect “everyday” foundation. The coverage is pretty light, but I personally don’t need high-coverage just to run errands, and it feels really good on the skin. Honestly, if I didn’t have $5 in CVSBucks, I most likely wouldn’t have bothered to try it, but I will end up repurchasing!

I picked up the mark J. steeleto palette and when in line on a whim bouht the natasha denona mini diamond and glow palette. Total impulse buy, I havn’t even used it yet… lol

L’Oreal’s True Match foundation in Rose Ivory – I saw it there on sale and I thought, why not give it a go? And now I love it.
Secondly, and this was awhile ago too – the Maybelline Burgundy Bar eyeshadow palette – Isabella Muse had reviewed it and given it the thumbs up, so again, on sale at half price, I thought the neutrals looked good and I liked the plum shade. It turned out to be as stellar as Muse said it was.

Well, I’ve got one. MAC Gold FX Hyper Real Foundation. I would have never bought smth that costs $40 in our “Palestines” and does not do much on its own. However, when I tswatched it, I had to have it and I’m happy I did. Makes my skin glowing and makeup that goes on top (including foundation) smoother.

I know that I’m getting boring, but my last impulse purchase was the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette and I’m so in love with it (still not a Jaclyn Hill suscriber or whatsoever)! Especially after reading some dreadful opinions and reviews. Every day I’m just looking forward to use it. I’m just happy that I bought it
