Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea! I love it. It’s a glorious amber bomb with the right level of sweetness and spice, and it’s more linear, but that’s a good thing since I LOVE it.

Elizabeth Arden White Tea. It’s a very light and pretty scent – not one that anyone could find objectionable and when I’m teaching (as I was yesterday), I always choose something pleasant and “inoffensive”. I’m trying to finish the bottle (there are only a few few more spritzes left in it) so I can open my new bottle. It is a very pretty, fresh fragrance. I was surprised to learn, after I bought it, that it contained musk as I think of myself as not liking musk at all but I do like this fragrance.
I’ve been wanting to trying this one! Funnily enough, I do like musk, which is one of the reasons I’ve been drawn to it.
I tried a sample of Byredo Velvet Haze. I really enjoyed it so far! It smelled musky, floral, and creamy from a little coconut. I think it does smell a bit like Narciso Rodriguez for Her, which Iāve loved for years, but with that added coconut note.
This morning, Guerlain Cologne du Parfumeur, fresh and green with hints of orange blossom.
Diptyque Philosykos. Itās a gorgeous fresh fig scent. Not too fruity or too green. Also not too overpowering but I can still smell it on myself throughout the day. Itās the perfect clean and bright fragrance for the warmer weather.
Maison Margiela Beach Walk! It smells delightful, and it transports me mentally to my favorite place: the beach. I smell the salty sweet air of the boardwalk and suntan lotion, just everything that makes me feel like I am there. Evokes pleasant memories of trips down the shore with my parents when I was young as well as ones where my ex and myself brought our own two kiddos there. How I long for another bunch of beach trips!
Your love for that perfume makes me want to try it so much! Even though I feel too femmey wearing amber!
The last perfume I wore, I think, was Tobacco Vanille. I’ve been having just a *real* hard time, mentally, for the last week and cutting out fragrance is one of the first things to go. Anyone else not want to wear their favorite scents when they’re in the thick of the worst parts? I don’t want to associate these feelings with *anything* I might reach for in the future.
I bought the 10 sample pack from Henry Rose fragrances and Iām working my way through. Iāve tried half of the scents and have enjoyed all of them, but so far Jakeās House is my favorite. Itās a neroli driven scent, love it! Looking forward to trying the other five this week.
The last fragrance I wore – which is today is Estee Lauder’s Beautiful. My son got me a large bottle for Mother’s Day. It is a complex fragrance of floral notes of rose, lily, mandarin orange and bergamot – to name a few. It was created in 1985 and is still going strong.
That’s a very nostalgic scent for me! My mom and grandmother wore it at very points in my childhood. š
Such a delightful fragrance. I bet it smells lovely on you, Genevieve!
Solstice Scents Pharaoh. White musk, honey, and frankincense. A lovely light, clean musk with a little complexity behind it to back it up. It lasts like a champ, but holds in close to you so you aren’t being too intrusive to other noses, which I always appreciate.
Le Labo Another 13. It’s like a middle of the road green floral. Not too heady with the florals and clean and light. Decent lasting power. It is growing on me.
In other news, I’m still lamenting over Penhaligon’s Violetta being discontinued. And Quelques Fleurs…..that used to be my signature scent. It doesn’t smell the same on me anymore – I think hormones are playing a role. I’ve tried Tom Ford’s Neroli offerings and the Tobacco Vanille but they don’t last on me and I wasn’t that impressed with the scents. I am on the hunt for a new fragrance.
The 7 Virtues, Vanilla Woods
An intoxicating vanilla… just like I like my fragrances. Because once I spray them on me, they suddenly lose power and sweetness as usual. š
Not the most long lasting, I wish it didn’t have the slight rose scent; but the caramel and pear notes add the gourmand vibes I love.
The scent lasts annoyingly long. For most people this would be a night time / winter fragrance… because my chemistry tones down sweet fragrances, for me it would be great any season… I mostly wear it at work nowadays.
Dior Addict. And more Dior Addict. Did I say Dior Addict?!? Ha. Yes, Iām addicted to it. 20 years is a longggg time to wear the same perfume. I sniff other juices, nope. Why fiddle with what one likes š¤
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic. One of my all-time favorites, this gorgeous, elegant fragrance goes on with a bright burst of citrus. The green notes start to come into play more and more as time goes by, and then finally the warmth of the amber shows up. Mandarine Basilic is more spicy than sweet, which I like because I’m not partial to cloying perfumes. The bottle is very elegant, too.
