What was the last base/complexion product that caught your eye? Did you resist or give in?
AURIC Morganite 2.0! The undertone of it is so perfect. For me, this is a base product as I have been using the formula (this shade or another) mixed in with my foundation since they released.
I’d be all over Auric if it were easier to find here, if I order online it’s $60USD all in and there’s no guarantee I won’t be charged duty on top of that.
For me, the Becca Dewing Tint. I purchased in Luminary (bought a backup on sale) for winter and Moondance 3 for summer. I’ve been using Moondance each time I’ve actually put on foundation this summer.
Fenty Eaze drop skin tint…if the product would ever come back in stock at Big S.
Laura Geller Baked Balance-n-Brighten Color Correcting Foundation. I sought it out and bought it (my shade is Porcelain) after seeing Allie Glines use it in a YT video. I’m so glad I did! It easily corrects my rosacea, which has been pretty red lately. It’s luminous enough to brighten my skin without emphasizing my fine forehead lines like most luminizing products do. It faired well under my mask, too. Total winner.
It’s been awhile. But, probably when that MAC SA/MUA took one look at me and matched me up with a perfect as it gets shade match. Never would have thought to look at their NW range, because I assumed that they were all pink based. Not past NW25, they aren’t! So, not so much that it caught my eye because it was beautiful, but NW30 or 35 matches me so nicely that I feel kinda pretty.
I am bucking the trend here. I bought the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation. My skin provides all the glow I need in summer. I may actually prefer the Milani Conceal + Perfect Shine Proof Powder.
bareMinerals complexion rescue in terra 8.5. It’s so good spot blended over tizo tinted AM replenish (spf 40) and Nars radiant concealer sucre d’orge and caramel. No pilling, makes up for the spf mineral cast on tan skin, dries to a satin finish.
I find that my foundation, L’Oreal’s True Match in porcelain rose, provides the perfect cover for me and I tend not to use any other bases, except for primer on occasion.
Ok I resisted Lisa Eldridge liquid highlighter til I heard to compare it to Auric and I love it so much. Pains me I did love auric the best but now it’s 2nd. I do really like Samantha.
I bought the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer ( not the oil free) as I’ve been swimming and got 10 shades darker. Love it!!!
Sorry that didn’t make sense. I heard Christine compare it to auric as Dewey and more shiny…something like that.
Rituel de Fille’s highlighters. I’ve tried a few, but the “best” ones are the plain, non-chunky shimmer, smooth creamy ones. Icebow is the one I reach for the most, but honestly I really need something more icy neutral silvery. It’s quite pink and as a rule I avoid pink on my skin as it brings out the rosacea redness too much.
Tom Ford Traceless Matte foundation. I didn’t resist, but wish I had. It clings to any slightly dry patches, even ones I didn’t know I had. I wanted to splurge on myself, which I did, I just wish I was enjoying it more.
I bought Kosas finishing powder. I like the packaging and I’ve been really pleasantly surprised by the bronzer/highlighter and blush duos this month, they don’t look especially unique but for once on this earth the bronzer is cool on me! Or at least it’s not muddy or warm. It’s been a really natural look and I thought I’d try the powder. I already have MAC finishing powder and a white one from Ciate that I like a lot plus a ton of loose powders, but I’m always up for a new favorite!
I don’t know it it’s the last one, and it’s an old one, but Becca highlighter in Pearl. I bought it on sale and have used it every day on the inner corners of the eyes and om the cupids bow and sometime even on the upper cheekbone area. (I generally only use a bit of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder as a highlighter on the face, so a shimmerier one makes me feel brave.)
