Cera Ve Foaming Face Wash. Otherwise I am open to trying new things when it comes to makeup/beauty. Makeup takes so long to finish so it’s hard to say I wont stray bc by the time I use up some of it most likely it will be discontinued lol. NARS Orgasm and Stila come close though!
Meant Stila Kitten Eyeshadow
And I forgot Smiths Rosebud Salve. I have tins all over the place and recently used up two which took me years to finish!!
Since I bought my 1st bottle in a Ross store 7-8 years ago: Nail-Aid 1 Minute Gel Coat (previously named 3 Minute Artificials). It works, so I just keep buying it! Also: Ole Henrikson Truth Serum (again, it actually WORKS), OGX Anti-breakage Keratin Oil Conditioner, Lurbiderm Daily Moisture with Sunscreen SPF 15, and FAB Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 40. Oh, and Essence Midnight In Paris Gel Liner, Marc Jacobs Blaquer Highliner and MAC Orb e/s!
Edit to add: UD Afterglow Blush in Rapture,
MAC Cosmo, VG I and Marque Lipsticks.
Wish MAC Yoni Crush was a permanent shade, as it is my perfect non-matte red!
The one that stands out is Guerlaun Meteorites Perles – it was one of – if not the first – purchase(s) that was not my usual preferred brand (MAC). I’ve been using it daily for the past 4 or so years and will continue to re-purchase. Also Benefit Brow-Zings in Medium – it’s the only brow product I use.
If I may, what skin type do you have? I have been curious about Guerlain meteorite pearls as they DO look so pretty but I’m not sure about purchasing as I don’t know if they will be so good for my oily skin.
hi, i have oily skin but love the meteorites too. the key is to mattify the skin after makeup with a mattifying powder, then apply a light dusting of the meteorites. you’ll look powdery for maybe the first hour or two then our oils will peek out after that to meld everything together. hope this helps!
That’s interesting. I might have to take the Guerlain plunge. Thanks:)
I have normal to oily or combination (oily in T-zone, normal on sides of face). I wish they had samples of it, like a week’s worth so you could try it – it really does blend a look together. I have been using it the perles for 4 years and used to be just oily (no normal) until about 3 years ago (maybe aging? maybe different skin care?) and never had a problem, if that helps. 🙂
P.S. Make sure you’re okay with the scent – it dissipates as soon as you put it on, but it is not subtle at first.
Shu Uemura cleansing oil. I have been removing my makeup with this for 10 years.
MAC Fix +
Guerlain Meteorites in Claire
Issey Miyake L’Eau de Issey perfume
Although I wear other lipsticks there are two that I will never be without, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Red and Rouge Bunny Rouge Perfume of His Gaze
MAC Lip Liner in Nightmoth
Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser
Sunday Riley Good Genes
Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Eye Gel
Tatcha Camellia Oil Cleanser
Tatcha Rice Powder skin polisher
Soap and Glory The Righteous Brothers Body Butter
Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm
Cover Girl Lash Sensation Waterproof mascara in Blackest Black
Beauty Blender and Artis Oval #8
Wow, I didn’t realize I was loyal to so many products. I actually have a couple more but this list was getting obsessive, LOL. With the exception of the lipsticks/lip pencil and the perfume, I use each of these everyday.
You and me both, Deborah! I have far more than I ever realized until i actually had to think about this last night. You reminded me of my “must always have” lip products that I had forgotten: MAC Cosmo and their Ultimate Lipstick in Marque, and wishing Yoni Crush was a permanent shade because I would buy that one eternally, if possible! Nyx Mahogany Slim Lip Pencil is a must, too!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum, CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Bar, Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne, Beauty Blender, and Zoeva brushes in general.
Oh I’d also add the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (only spot treatment that has ever worked for me), The Body Shop’s Camomile Waterproof Eye and Lip Makeup Remover and their Camomile Silky Cleansing Makeup Remover Oil, and NARS Sheer Glow.
The Wet n Wild PhotoFocus face primer! I’m on my 5th tube and it’s the only primer I’ve used since I first tried it. I cannot understand why no one else is talking about this primer. It’s hydrating with a hint of tackiness to grab foundation and, while it doesn’t blur pores on its own, it stops my foundation from falling into my pores. Plus it’s $5 for 0.84 fluid ounces.
I have other products that I’ve used pretty regularly since I bought them but that’s the only one where I really haven’t used anything else in that category.
Oh! Also the Anastasia Beverly Hills tinted brow gel in Auburn! ABH is the only company that actually makes brow products that match my brows.
I forgot the Ole Henriksen On The Go cleanser (I think now it’s been renamed Face the Truth)! I’ve been through about 5 bottles already, I have three in the original packaging as backup (I thought it was being discontinued so I bought a ton on sale), and I’ll definitely purchase the new packaging even though they made it more expensive per ounce. I know spending money on cleansers is kind of unnecessary but it cleans deeply without drying out my skin, breaking me out, or irritating me.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, Giorgio Armani Luminious Silk, Mac Groundwork, LM Secret Camouflage…defo Sheseido’s eyelash curler. L’Oréal Voluminous mascara.
They are called cult classics for a reason ?
IT Cosmetics CC Cream, Lise Watier SunSmart, Nars and MAC’s newer eyeshadow primers, Marc Jacobs skinny black eyeliner pencil, Shiseido foundation brush and, of course, Chanel Empreinte du Desert quad (I’m sure I reach for it at least once a week). And the original Naked Palette deserves an honourable mentions, as do MAC Craving and Plumful lipsticks.
That is a really interesting question. I look forwards to read other’s answer ?.
Maybelline color tattoos in crème de nude and crème de rose (dupe for Mac painterly and soft ocher).
It is more recent but the US brow box is really the one thing I use since months now.
Nars creamy concealer. I love the coverage. Just wish they had a pink undertone shade between vanilla and chantilly for winter! I think chantilly will be too light but I will give it a try (after 3-4 tubes of vanilla).
Viseart and mufe shadow formula.
I am changing a lot less my skincare and haircare products. Once I find my HG I am not even interested by novelties (except for face mask).
Joveda (organic branch of Jovees) clarifying mask and a cream against imperfections. I will also be rebuying their face scrub and cleanser once I finish them.
Evolve hyaluronic serum.
Antipodes, aura mask, rejoice cream, vanilla pod cream (I ordered other products of the brand to try out)
Whamissa brightening eye cream. Its effects wowed me.
Urtekram rose shampoo.
Denovo hair serum.
Weleda oat hair mask.
Coco’s oil for prewash hair mask.
I am NOT changing my skincare and haircare products a lot ?
MAC Mineralize Loose powder. The best finish with the NARS tinted moisturizer.
MAC Prep + Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base. Makes eyeshadows easier to blend and they last longer. Wish it evened out skin color, but it is great as is anyways.
NARS Sheer Glow foundation. The best finish for my skin type (dehydrated) with a moisturizer underneath.
MAC Fluidline. Have two, both work perfectly. Have had Dipdown for over 2 years, still no sign of it getting dry! Stays put for hours.
Benefit “they’re real” mascara… I keep trying others, but I come back to it
Bioderma Micellaire démaquillante Créaline H2O, MAC Lightful C Softening Lotion ( but after finishing it, I will replace it, with another brand, repulsed, by the 50% reduction in the product ) , ERRE DUE Luxury Waterproof Eye Pencil (Greek brand ), Frezyderm Sun Screen Velvet Face Cream SPF50 ( excellent sunscreen, acts also as foundation primer), Apivita Organic Jojoba Oil , Hermes Elixir des Merveilles.
Anastasia Dipbrow, Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, W7 Oh So Waterproof mascara, ELF Clear lash and brow mascara.
Urban Decay B6, Too Faced Hangover Primer (the cream – don’t like the spray), NARS Sun Wash Bronzer, Escada Fiesta
Givenchy Brun Createur lipstick (so many tubes); MUFE setting spray (so many bottles); Lubriderm body lotion with SPF (decades of use); MJ gel liner pencils in black and brown; Cover Fx color corrector.
Oh dear, forgot … Biologique Rercherche P50 1970. I’d (almost) mortgage my house to keep it in my repertoire. 🙂
Clinique Brow Shaper is the one product I’ve used faithfully longer than any other product. I’ve been using it daily for more than 10 years and love it. Recently, since my eyebrow tails have all but disappeared, I added ABH Brow Wiz for definition. The two of them work really well together for me.
I’ve been using Clinique Mild Liquid Facial Soap and Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 for quite a few years and my skin has been happy with it, so I have no plans to switch to anything else.
There are a few products that I wore faithfully for many years, but recently broke up with. After at least 15 years of Revlon ColorStay foundation and pressed powder, I decided to try high end foundations and powders a couple years ago. The difference was astounding. I haven’t looked back. Also, I exclusively used NARS blush in Orgasm for many, many years, but just switched to a new brand and color last month.
Goss Air Brush
ABH stick foundation in shade shadow for contour
NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Cannelle and Custard
Marc Jacobs The Conceal full cover correcting brush #14
Tweezerman ultra precision tweezers
Surratt La Rosee du soir blush
Benefit kaBrow
Surratt expressionist brow pomade
Wwendy, how do you use the Air brush? I recently picked it up, have used it with a few blushes and highlighters, and am feeling a little stymied – it’s so soft and floppy.
Hey Lindsay: Blush, highlighter and spot powdering (especially sides of nose). It is not the best brush for products that run harder in pan. I find it works really well with Surratt blushes, Tom Ford (the original version), MUG blushes which are softer. These brands represent most of my fav core blushes. Not so good with MAC extra dimension, Clinique pop series or even Ciate which I think run harder. I go in with a small MAC 130 for those. Caveats: I tend towards ultra natural cheek and like to spend time layering sheerer blushes. Also, I have smallish features so all the traditional sized brushes are far too much for my face. I always work in light pressure circular motion with my brushes. Maybe try with less pressure and using tip of brush. Please know this not patronizing.. Just trying to share that I use this baby with with very light touch 😀 Hope there is something helpful here!
Thanks for your thoughtful (and not patronizing at all!) comments Wwendy. Funny you mentioned Mac extra dimension – that’s one of the products I tried it with and found not super satisfactory. I’ll keep experimenting with others…
Nothing color. Magpie issues. Skin: Cosrx aha/bha toner. Base: FAB triple duty eye, Paula long name TM. Those never vary, nor do I look for s.t. better. Frequently looking for things to layer over, though.
MAC 237, COLAB dry shampoo, REN balm cleanser, Christophe Robin Blueberry shampoo, MorrocanOil hair mask for thin hair, Chanel Le Volume mascara
If we’re talking about products that have remained in my collection throughout my entire makeup life since I purchased them the very first time, I can only think of two: Guerlain Jardins De Bagatelle Eau De Parfum and Shiseido Benefiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam. I’ve never been without either of them for 20+ years. Maybe there are more, but I can’t think of any others at the moment that I’ve owned without any interruption whatsoever. If we’re talking about never having fallen out of love with a product since purchasing it (and have purchased it over and over again, and/or plan to repurchase it over and over again), there are too many to mention, but they’re all HGs.
Urban Decay Riff eyeshadow (I regularly use many UD singles; I often use Riff in particular as the perfect warm neutral on me);
Cle de Peau concealor;
Chanel eyebrow pencil;
MJ Jazzberry highliner;
Jack Black lip balm;
Bulgari Eau de Vert (green tea) fragrance;
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water SPF 30 foundation
Nars Pro Prime – Fantastic for my oily lids, doesn’t leave a white cast and easy to blend over. It is a pain digging out the last bits of it out.
Meow Cosmetics powder foundation – I have to mix shades to get my color, but it doesn’t aggravate my acne-prone skin and has a great price point.
Zoya polish remover
Abbey Brown lip balm
Tarte Gifted mascara, Jack Black Lip Balm, and Nivea Extended Moisture Body Lotion.
Maybelline Fit Me Matter and Poreless Pressed Powder! 120 is the perfect shade, and I press it over my liquid foundation for extra coverage and the perfect finishing veil.
Urban Decay original eyeshadow primer potion, Wet n’ Wild brushes, Pixi glow mist, Colourpop lunch money highlight (there will be months where I don’t wear anything else, v unusual for me with color products), Beauty Blender, RCMA no color powder (I recently tried 1 or 2 others and no way José!), and Urban Decay eye liner in demolition (to tightline).
Nars radiant creamy concealer and velvet matte skin tint used to be on this list, but not since Nars lost its cruelty free status 🙁
UD Primer Potion, Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, and Kat Von D Shade and Light contour palette.
* Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light — Dewy coverage that keeps my undereye area looking plump and bright. Easy to swipe on and pat in with my ring finger.
* Bobbi Brown Long-wear Cream Shadow in 25 Stone — Perfect sheer, neutral base shade for any eye look. The formula does crease a bit though so I’m open to recommendations!
* Sephora Rouge Gel Lip Liner in 01 The Nudest — Super smooth liner that glides on like butter, stays on, and shapes my lips without making it look too obvious or garish.
* NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Espresso — The tiny tip makes it easy to define the brows with precision, and the hard, slightly waxy formula keeps me from applying too much at once.
* Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Embrace — The perfect cream blush formula in a flattering neutral nude-pink shade. Blends seamlessly and wears all day. Expensive, but I haven’t tried anything better, honestly.
Boscia Clear Complexion cleanser, Naked Skin foundation, Benefit Rollerlash
I love this question and I am really enjoying reading everyone’s comments! For me it’s Clinique Take the Day off Eye makeup remover, Olay Regenerist UV defense SPF 50, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium, the MAC 239 brush, Urban Decay original eyeshadow primer, and Revlon Cherries in the Snow lipstick is my go to “signature” lipstick.
Do you even know how classic you are with Cherries in the Snow? According to what I’ve read, CITS has been unchanged since it debuted in the 50s. The classic cooler red. Even my mum (who would be 107) wore it. Whatta classic. You go, girl!
My mom wore Cherries In the Snow; I had forgotten all about it. I remember being fascinated with the color, looking at it in the tube. Lovely. I wouldn’t wear it because … well, I think it would be weird to wear the same color my mother did, but maybe I’ll look for dupes.
Really, too many color products to name here, so I just included some top favorites..
*BareMinerals Original Foundation SPF 15 in Fair and Mineral Veil in Original
*e.l.f. HD Powder in Sheer
*e.l.f. Original Mist & Set
*Too Faced Shadow Insurance
*Too Faced Hangover face primer (for water-based)
*Nyx Angel Veil face primer
*bhCosmetics Eye & Lip Makeup Remover
*bhCosmetics Waterproof Lipliners
*L’oreal Infallible Silkissimee Eyeliners
*Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion and Roach (HG black and brown pencil liners)
*Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Rapture (HG MLBB shade for me)
*Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (infinitely useful; always versatile)
*Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Bittersweet and Rapture
*Notoriously Morbid Highlighter in Osteomancy
*Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove
*Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed
*Tarte Clay Pot Waterproof Eyeliners
*Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer in Bavarian Cream
*Sephora Colorful Face Powder in Tranquil
*Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick in Cougar
Rachel, thank you for reminding me about UD Rapture Afterglow Blush! One I cannot imagine not always having as it is perfection.
Lancome Teint Idole foundation, Lancome long-lasting under eye concealer (I use it to cover blemishes on the body), every eyeshadow and blush purchased from Aveda, Bobbi Brown Dusty Pink Art Stick, Bobbi Brown’s full coverage face brush, and Charlotte Tilbury’s Air-brushed finishing powder.
Arcona Cranberry Toner, Clinique Foaming Face wash, Dior Serum Foundation, Nars radiant concealer, Nars eyeshadow base, Osmotics Prime 1, Algenist anti-aging lotion…and that’s all I can think of for now.
Stila Kitten, L’Oreal Voluminous Full Definition (now discontinued), NARS Orgasm, NARS eye primer, and Guerlain Loose Kohl.
– TactuPump Forte. My prescription topical anti-acne treatment. Nothing worked for my Cystic Acne caused by my hormonal imbalance.
– My Morning and Night Vitamine C Serums. My skin is SO even and clear now. I just dab some concealer under my eyes, powder all over and I’m good to go! Which is AMAZING for someone like me who used to have severe cystic acne.
– Essence Lash Princess! I’m on my 5th? tube of it. Ever since I first bought it I haven’t boughten a different mascara!
– LUSH Santa Baby Lip tint. I own over 50 lipsticks. But I could give away all of them and just have Santa Baby and be happy!! It’s a orange red, matte lipstick. And it’s my all time HOLY GRAILlipstick! Im on my second, or third tube of it!!
– Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The only eye primer iv ever found that works on my oily severely hooded eyes!!
A few things I have been using since I started using them are any of my Dr. Dennis Gross products with Retinol. There are so many but I will say Dior lip glow & Victoria Beckham’s Modern Mercury Highlighter it’s still my favorite out of all my highlighters. I can’t wait for her new releases this September but my purse definitely can wait.

Do you use the Elizabeth & James dry shampoo mostly for the scent or for the dry shampoo function? Or a combination of both?
I am so fickle. I cannot think of a make-up product that I have used consistently over the years. For skin care, however, I have used a version of prescription retinoids since the day they were invented. I also have remained loyal to REN Glycolic Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask and Wake Wonderful Nightime Facial since the first time I used them. I change up everything else.
I forgot about L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother. I am pretty sure I bought it when it was first introduced and have not been without it since. I like it better than any of the high end brands I’ve tried, like Smashbox.
I’m pretty loyal to the regular Miracle Blur, the one I put on my forehead and my “11’s”
I certainly tried that but it didn’t work very well for me. I had bought the oil free version because I was really oily then. Maybe the regular version would have been better but I just went back to Benefit Pore-Fessional.
I’ve got a bunch:
MAC Paint pot Painterly
MAC Waterweight SPF20 Foundation
It Cosmetics Under eye Corrector
J/One Jelly Pack Dramatic Firming skin with improved elasticity and pore smoothing
Algenist Sun Screen SPF50
RCMA powder
Skindinavia Oil control finishing spray
UD Naked Basic 2 e.s. palette
MJ Tightliner Gel Pencil
And the list goes on….
Maybe it’s cheating because it’s only been a few months, but Hurraw lip balms. I could tell as soon as I started using them that I’m going to want to buy all of their different scents. LOVE the formula.
Another one is Dipbrow for me, too. I do switch up my brow products here and there, but always come back to Dipbrow. People say theirs dry out fast, but mine is still easy to use even though it’s drier than it used to be (had it for almost 2 years now, same pot).

Urban decay setting spray
That’s all I can think of for now!
Most of my answers are going to be for products I’ve started using in the past 3 or so years, mostly because that’s when I started reaping the benefits of serious research. I’m going to leave color products out of this, because while I certainly have plenty of products that have never left my stash since I got them, it’s mostly because it’ll take me a long time to use them up (if I ever do).
1. Paula’s Choice Resist Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense
2. Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
3. Mother Dirt Shampoo
4. Mother Dirt Cleanser
5. Mother Dirt Body Mist
6. Lather Yuzu Bergamot Creme Rinse
7. Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid
There are others that I’d list if they hadn’t been discontinued. 🙁
Reading other comments made me realize there are two color products I can safely add to the list:
MAC Paint Pot Groundwork
MAC Paint Pot Quite Natural
Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Smoky Eyes Pencil- Whether I’m wearing a full-on smoky eye or just a lightly smoky wing/cat eye- I have been wearing this pencil almost daily since it first came out. Once set (after about 2 minutes) it does not budge, creep, smear, smudge, wander, nor bother my contact lenses. Super easy to apply & comes in a variety of gorgeous colors. Developed with the famed MUA Mary Greenwell too!
Ponds Cleansing cream- It’s cheap, it’s easy to use, it’s an oil in water emulsion takes all my makeup off without drying nor irritating my skin & eyes. My mom used it, my grandma used it, & I use it!
It Cosmetics CC cream- I was late to the game in trying this product as I thought it was just another glorified tinted moisturizer. Wow! This is actually a medium/full coverage foundation that goes on easily, minimizes my pores & fine lines, lasts a good 8 hrs, has 50 spf, does not crease nor give me ‘polka dot nose’, looks amazingly natural, and soothes my parched & mature skin. The has replaced me beloved $$$’s CdP foundation for daily wear.
Tarte Blush in Dollface and the Tarte BB Tinted Primer. First discovered in 2012 and I haven’t found anything better.
– Seche Vite top coat
– Covergirl Lashblast Volume Waterproof mascara
– Cerave face cleanser (not the gentle one, the original)
– Nivea Lip Butter pots
my DHC Deep Cleansing Oil and Mild Soap makeup removing combo followed by Dermalogica Daily exfoliant I use this trio on the rare days when I actually wear a full face of makeup. For everything else I try new things all the time.
Fun reading these… Never heard of some people’s products before.
My list:
-Clarisonic
-Paula’s Choice RESIST hydrating cleanser and toner, and PC facial sunscreens
-Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten
-MAC Vex eyeshadow
-INGLOT eyeshadows: some light taupey greys and a cream (I have a cat on me and can’t look at them rn)
-C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm. Gone through 25+ of them.
-Trader Joe’s Midsummer Night’s Cream body lotion. Again, prob 25+ of them.
-Aquaphor. Aquaphor Aquaphor Aquaphor. <3
Ole Henriksen walnut scrub (I think they changed the name and put it in a tube recently, which I think is awesome)
Koh Gen Do spa water , it’s the only micellar water that doesn’t leave any sticky residue after use.
Shiseido eyelash curler. I’ve tried Shu Uemura but it didn’t fit my eye shape as well.
Prescription Retin -A Micro gel (a less irritating formulation)
Clinique Moisture Surge Intense
Lush Rose Jam shower gel – awesome fragrance, non-drying
Vitamin C serums in general – I’ve used both Skinceuticals CE Ferulic and its cheap dupe by Timeless and I don’t see a huge difference. I just ordered Drunk Elephant C- Firma on sale from Dermstore to see how it compares.
As a brand, Bumble and Bumble – I’ve used a wide variety of their hair products and haven’t been disappointed by a single one. I don’t think I can say that about many brands.
Urban Decay primer potion. Mostly because ever since I got the full size, it just hasn’t run out. It has been 4 years, at least. I should probably get a new one, though. :,)
Honestly, I have strayed from just about everything but there are things I come back to. The closest thing I have to a completely loyal makeup relationship is Cargo Reverse Lip Liner in Light. This just nudes out my lips so I can make them look bigger and whatever lip color I use applies and stays truer. I really don’t buy any other lip pencils, but if I get them in a subscription box/bag, I do try them. I never like any as much as this one though.
Disclaimer: When every site in the universe was sold out of my reverse lip liner, I bought and used NYX wonder pencil in the lightest shade. It was a stand-in until my Cargo was back in stock. It was just about as good, but the pencil seemed to wear down much faster.
Great question and it was so enjoyable reading everyone’s response.

2) Pantene dry shampoo. Absorbs oil well without any powder residue and it’s under $10. I recently tried Drybars dry shampoo and was unimpressed with its performance at that price point. Ditto Perfect Day.

1) Original Beauty Blender
2) UD Optical Blurring brush
3) T3 hairdryer, cut down on how long it takes to dry my thick hair
4) Sutra flat iron, game changer
