UDPP for me, since it creased! 🙁

Interestingly, the Clarisonic completely cleared my acne and has made a huge difference in how healthy my skin is – but it’s horrible for my mom, who was convinced to buy one after my results!

Melinda Avatar

I agree. I guess I wanted to buy it at the first place cuz it looks cute. I’m going back to Burt’s Bees. But I haven’t tried rosebud salve, I’d try it too 🙂

Leah Avatar

I can’t believe it creased on you…. 🙁 I love it and fl/oil makes my eyes super difficult.

Illamasqua cream eyeshadows love the color but they crease 🙁

rag Avatar

Dior Nude foundation… just icky on my skin, doesn’t look natural at all, I love Dior Forever foundation though. Almost all Urban Decay shadows as they are too glittery and somehow don’t last on my lids, but dry up and I have to wipe them off. At last the Urban Decay lid primer. I got it in several versions but none of them do the magic thing for me 😉

Emily Avatar

I will still NEVER get the hype surrounding Maybelline Great Lash- does absolutely nothing for my lashes. DiorShow may cost a heap more, but it’s worth every last penny.

Whitney Avatar

I completely agree about Maybeline Also you show try Dior Blackout waterproof. Awesome lashes and nothing but makeup remover budges it.

Laura H. Avatar

Totally agree! I think Maybelline Great Lash is probably the worst mascara I’ve ever used, period, and I can’t understand why it has such a great reputation.

Rachel Avatar

Hmm let’s see
-UDPP: didn’t like the texture, didn’t do a very good job
-Benetint: i was so excited about this but i swatched it in Sephora and it just looked really un-pigmented…barely showed up
-Benefit “That Gal” Primer: didn’t do anything
-Benefit “some kinda gorgeous” foundation: gross consistency, felt really slimy

hmm that’s all i can think of right now…lots of Benefit!

Jeannie Avatar

Mac New Collection Quite Cute. The cutie quad eyeshadows the colours were too light and less pigments it didn’t show up on my skin when I test out at the store

Jan Avatar

Midnight Cowboy. Perfect lid colour, but too much glitter fallout. I will purchase the non-glittery version, Sellout as soon as my makeup stash is used up.

Amanda Avatar

Loreal Voluminous – It couldn’t hold a curl for nuts, smudged despite its waterproof claims, and didn’t add thickness/length to my lashes.

Jean Avatar

Wow.. surprised that it was UDPP for you. I have really oily lids and it never creases on me. Perhaps you got a bad batch? For me, the biggest hyped up product would be the NARS Soft Touch shadow pencils. Bleh…

Audrey Avatar

I can bet it’s creasing from your eye cream you use before it! I’ve used it for months without any problems, switched to a different eye cream, and it creased like crazy! I stopped using the eye cream when I put on my makeup, and it lasts all day again, no creasing! Some just work better when layering than others. 🙂

Carrie Ann Avatar

I agree. Sin Primer Potion always creases on me and does not keep my eye makeup looking fresh. The color is pretty, but the product is so disappointing.

Lilli Avatar

UDPP for me too, after 5 hours i couldn’t even see the eyeshadow colors i used on my eyelids. really disappointed me because it was expensive too, but i’m still using it just to get rid of the product.

Melissa Avatar

Amazing Concealer…it’s a high quality concealer altogether but I was SO disappointed with the amount of product that came in the $28 size. Many reviews said that this wouldn’t be a problem since a little goes a long way, but i think I still need equal amounts of concealer (and my dark circles aren’t THAT bad).

I like that the texture is super creamy, but maybe too much so that I feel like it makes my eyeliner easily smudge into messy panda eyes…no thanks!

Ani_BEE Avatar

I can understand the prize being turn off. I took me years to try out this product but it is an HG concealer for me even at $48 CAN. For me my dark circle are very dark in my ultra pale skin and it’s hard even to find a concealer light enough to work on me. Also having a slight peach tone to counter act my dark blue circles Fair end out being perfect on me.

MaryBeth Avatar

Definately NARS Orgasm blush! It looks awful on me. I have pink undertones, so as soon as I put it on, the rest of the redness in my face stands out. Oh well, there are plenty other blushes out there that I love 🙂

Esther Avatar

It’s gotta be LUSH’s “It’s Raining Men” shower gel. Sorry everybody and fans of this product. The smell is just wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too sweet and its like washing yourself with toffee… So sweet that I’m afraid ants may crawl on me 😛

Soo Avatar

theBalm concealer for me. it just sits in one my drawers being useless now 🙁

I do love Jack Black lip balm though! I decided to try it because I’ve seen you rave about it a couple times.

Erica Avatar

Revlon PhotoReady? My face become soo oily every time I have it on.

Side note: I recently tried UDPP and I really like it! I’ve been using NARS Smudgeproof before that.

royalmommy Avatar

Definitely MAC Feline Power Kohl Pencil.
I hate it so much. I can’t believe that so many people brag about how wonderful it is and it sells out every time it’s re-launched. It smears like crazy. Sure it’s black but not the blackest eyeliner out there. I honestly don’t see much of a difference between Smolder and Feline. I think UD 24/7 Zero is much better. UD made a limited edition black eye liner that’s even darker than Zero and much darker than Feline and it stays all day. I just cant think of the name of it. It came out with the 15 pack celebrating their 15 anniversary.

Ani_BEE Avatar

Perversion is the name of the UD one and I agree it’s WAY better then MAC Feline. Having small lid I’m afraid of transfer if it’s not waterproof.

Dezi Avatar

Ugh, the UD pencils never stay on very well for me. I find they smudge like crazy and they don’t even stay on the water line. I think the Stila Smudgesticks are sooooo much better.

Carlyn Avatar

Yea me too Christine! 🙁 It’s so disappointing since I’ve been wanting to try it because of all the hype and positive reviews about it.

The shadows won’t even stay on my eyes, it’s really annoying 🙁 I’m waiting to get the TFSI and hopefully that will work better for me!

Lucy Avatar

NARS is the best I’ve used, hands down. Though I personally don’t think UDPP is bad either. I haven’t tried Too Faced shadow insurance yet but I hear it’s really good. What are your thoughts on that one, Christine?

Adelita Avatar

Me too! I’m not too impressed with UDPP because I still experience a fall-out from glittery eye shadow (Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy does so much better job in this field).
Another product that I find mediocre is NARS blushes. Yes they have the greatest color pay-off, but it also wear-off easily on my very oily skin just like any other powder blush. The only powder blush that can stay on me all day is Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes, other than that, I can only rely on cheek stain 🙁

Charlotte Avatar

I just wanted to let you know that the background for your site is now a huge H&M advert (same as the top banner) and it’s really unpleasant to look at.

Nadia Avatar

I’ve been visiting the site less because the advert situation has gotten very annoying lately. I keep having massive (and I mean HUGE) ads pop up in the middle of my screen and completely covering the post I’m reading. I click the ‘x’ to close it off and scroll down to read comments and when I scroll back up again, the advert has appeared again.

Ilaria Avatar

Mac Creme de nude. on me (nw15) is horrible. It makes me feel like I’m dead.I can’t belive UDPP doesn’t work on you. I can’t live without.

Ani_BEE Avatar

Really, out of all the nude lipsticks I’ve tired Creme de Nude is the nicest but my shade tone it NC5 or NC10. I also have rosy lips.

I guess on you it’s to close to your skin tone.

Kris Avatar

Diorshow. I feel like a bad person saying it, but I’ve gotten better results from the drugstore, in terms of mascara that doesn’t flake or migrate.

fabiola Avatar

i agree with you, i have mac springsheen, and i love it, i bought nars orgasm and swatched next to springsheen and they look the same, but mac’s is more creamy and softer texture, i didn’t get what is that blush so special, mac springsheen looks exactly the same and applies better. i returned nars orgasm.

Ani_BEE Avatar

NARS Orgasm is one of those product I never felt deserved the hype. I was not that noticeable on my ultra fair skin either. Le Femme blush in Terracotta is a much better blush with the same colour tone as NARS Orgasm.

julie Avatar

Maybelline Great Lash mascara – why is it raved about so much in top 10 lists and beauty editorials? It smears, it smudges, it flakes. Mascara has come a long way, baby.
Oh, and Benefit Erase Paste for me. It makes my undereye circles more prominent, and I look 10 years older.

Christina Avatar

All the body shop eyeshadows for me, talk about fallout and creasing, closely followed by Lancome juicy tubes, way way to sticky, and although i love the texture of the urban decay pocket shot lipglosses, putting something on my lips that smells of chicken pie crème brulee is just sooooo urggghhhh

Julie Avatar

NARS orgasm- it just does nothing for me (corals in general are not my fav).
MAC Creme D Nude -makes me look like dead and completely blanks out my lips..not cute! lol
Covergirl Lash Blast – was ok, but didn’t do anything spectacular and its really hard for me to remove. I think Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes is a much better mascara.

Miss Kitty Avatar

MUFE HD foundation! it was meant to be my holy grail foundation, perfect for photography, medium-full coverage… but on me, the coverage was sheer, unbuildable and transferred on everything that came near my face, with or without powder and primer! there goes $75 down the drain…

Marie Avatar

Lancome Hypnose waterproof mascara. Goes on super dry and barely shows up. Even tho I got it in black, it looked dark grey (what you could see of it) on my lashes. My mother got the non-waterproof formula of it and had the exact same issues….Why do people love this product so much? You have to fight with it to get it on…

Marianne Avatar

I had that problems with that mascara too! It was too dry. It didn’t do anything for my eyelashes, no more volume as it claimed. There are a lot of drugstore mascaras out there that I think are too much better!

Catriona Avatar

Generally mascaras as I go through them faster:

Max Factor False Lash Effect (same as Lash Blast) (meh)
DiorShow (also meh)
Rimmel Lash Accelerator (this is AWFUL)

I also don’t get the hype of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, which is hugely hyped in the UK blogosphere. It’s nice but no better than any other cleanser really. It’s the muslin cloth that’s good, the cleanser is average.

snm Avatar

dior mascaras(diorhow, iconic and blackout) all were terrible.and laura mercier-oil free TM.it turned my combo skin into an oily slick and felt heavier than any other foundation I have tried, even more than the heavy covarage ones.oh and bobbi brown corrector, which good product creases in 5 minutes and disapperars in several hours?

btw udpp works miracles for me since nothing else works(tfsi, nars, you name it) but I dont like how it feels very dry and it is hard to blend both the base and shadows on it.

Shilpa Avatar

i tend to go against the herd with most things and root for the underdog. but in particular i didnt like:
NARS orgasm – much prefer amour
didnt love the naked palette – more going against the herd
di

fabiola Avatar

Mac prep and prime finishing powder, it left and amazing look on my skin, but after a week it broke me out like crazy, and i’ve never have suffer from acne before, then i read some reviews and this has happened to other people, see i didn’t read the it has corn starch and that may have clogged my pores, the girl in mac was reaslly nice and exchanged it for a msf natural, now i am afraid to use that too. christine, can you tell me anything about msf natural, thank you so much.

Susanne Avatar

NARS Sheer Glow foundation… I just don’t get it! I’ve used like a 100 different foundations and this one dissapoints me the most. What glow??? I think it’s just a dull, unflattering foundation with no glow at all! Sorry for all you girls who loves it but really not for me!

Elissa Avatar

Urban Decay Zero. I bought it hoping it would stay on my waterline…doesn’t stay on for more than five minutes D:
I use it one my lash lines though, it works pretty well only if I set it with shadow though.

Laurel Avatar

I think for me it is udpp only because sometimes it creases and sometimes doesn’t and isn’t very dependable for me. Shame though because I bought two of the professional sizes and have tons of travel ones from sets and palettes so I have to use them up. I look forward to when I’m traveling so I can use my mini tfsi or smashbox primer haha

LH Avatar

Easily two things come to mind UDPP and MAC satin Taupe ugh I heard so many people going on and on about those two things and I do not see why. I bought UDPP after buying the Nars smudgeproof just to see what the hype was about and its so bad on me the colors fade and it creases on me worse than if I hadn’t used a primer. Satin Taupe is a pretty color but I don’t find it suits every skin tone as I was first led to believe it took me ages to find a way for it to not look like dirt on my NC42 skin.

Lucy Avatar

Too Faced Shadow Insurance: it does crease on my eyelids; paintpots work better than this for me.

Maybelline foundations: I’ve tried and tried but they don’t seem to get along with my skin. They become icky and oily.

Nadia Avatar

UDPP for me too. I didn’t like the texture of it, eyeshadows creased and faded too. And I don’t even have oily lids!

YSL Touche Eclat – or any highlighter type pen. They don’t seem to do anything noticeable…it’s just one more layer on the skin, one more step.

And believe it or not…the GHD straightener!! It didn’t seem to take any less time to straighten my hair and after a few uses, my hair texture was awful and dry. I returned it.

Girl Hearts Makeup Avatar

MAC eyeshadows in general. Don’t murder me but I honestly feel UD makes far better shadows compared to MAC. Living in Singapore, a MAC shadow costs $28 which is ridiculous. Buying a UD palette is so much more affordable.

Cindy Avatar

MAC Complete Comfort Creme and Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream. I have mild rosacea, I use medication for it, but I’d like an anti-redness moisturizer to actually do what it says. The MAC cream is a good moisturizer, but did nothing for the redness. The same with the Clinique one. I tried them because I’m currently using Dermadoctor’s “Calm, Cool, & Corrected” which is $85, and I wanted to find something cheaper that would do the same thing. So far haven’t found it. The Dermadoctor cream does such a good job that I wake up with no redness in my face and I only have to use my medication once a day, not twice. I know that Philosophy just released a new anti-redness line, “Keep The Peace.” Maybe I’ll try that one when it comes to Sephora, right now it’s only at Ulta.

Jazz Avatar

lets see : TFSI , I prefer Urban Decay. My shadows are still creasing with the TFSI . Nars Orgasm , Super Orgasm – they are NOT compatible with every skintone. Orgasm doesnt show up and Super Orgasm just looks wrong on me . OPI nail polishes- for 8 bucks I shouldnt have to do 3 coats of a color and even then still be able to see my nail.

Nadia Avatar

MAC’s Myth doesn’t work well on its own for me, either. But it’s beautiful when paired with a red-pink lip gloss (eg. EL’s Cherry Kiss lip gloss)! I also use it to alter the colour of other lipsticks. Myth + Crosswires = Pretty!! Oh and Myth + Love Nectar lipglass = Beautiful! HTH 🙂

AnGeLwInGz Avatar

That sucks that UDPP didn’t work out for so many people. It’s my HG! I hate to say it but I’m disappointed by MAC eyeshadows. I’ve tried them in every finish and found that within each category, even different colors have a completely different texture and color payoff. I’m not saying they’re all bad, but with the enormous color selection you would think you could choose your fave finish and know what to expect when you apply the shadow. Also can’t understand the hype about Orgasm. Just shows up yellow on me.

Ashley Avatar

NARS Orgasm never did anything for me, and I prefer Springsheen as well!! 🙂 Also, found Chanel Lipsticks not to live up to their hype

Shelby Avatar

Ugh, agreed. I received a starter kit as a gift once and if you have ANY acne at all, it’s hardly worth putting on because it doesn’t cover anything!

Dezi Avatar

I couldn’t agree more. I work at a certain beauty store, and I have no idea why but everybody buys it. It only looks great on people with flawless, perfectly toned skin… Otherwise, you might as well just not wear foundation. I have NO idea what the hype is!!

Lauren Avatar

the only people super crazy hyping sigma brushes are the ladies benefitting from their partnership program. only a handful of the brushes are good, and it’s a trial and error thing. I’m pretty sure that our lovely Christine was the only unbiased review. I own 3 sigma brushes. 2 are half-decent, one is embarrassingly bad- all have been MEGA HYPED by the hive mind.

tracy Avatar

urban decay primer potion, cant get it to spread evenly and feels too tacky.
nars orgasm, hate the name and the awful gold shine to it.
nars sheer glow, not enough coverage.
eos balms, made my lips dry.
nyx milk stick, creases my eyeshadows.
cetaphil skin care, leaves a film on my skin.

Nicole Avatar

MAC msf in Stereo Rose! I was so excited to get it because of the hype and when i finally got it in the mail, it pulled orange. So, I exchanged it and got Petticoat instead and I LOVE it!

Lorraine E R Avatar

EOS Lipbalms were disappointing (they don’t do anything for me), Mac Studio Fix Fluid ( too orange and unflattering finish) & Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation (cakey/powdery and not enough coverage).

SJean Avatar

I second the Benefit “That Gal” Primer. Meh. And pretty much every MAC eyeshadow quad that’s come out since last winter (ESPECIALLY WW… uuggghhhh). And, I hate to say it because I love UD, but the Urban Decay shadow pencils. :/

Katie Avatar

I don’t really get the UDPP. It doesn’t crease on me, it just isn’t that great. I prefer paint pots. I don’t really get MAC Stereo Rose either. I have it and like it, but it isn’t like mind blowing.

Meg Avatar

Tarte cheek stains. I wanted so much to like them, but I got the holiday mini pack with three colors last year, and I’m not a fan. You have to rub them so hard on your face to get any color! I thought they looked and felt sticky and didn’t last that long, either.

Mari Avatar

UDPP- Totally agree with Christine about this one. The NARS eye primer is waaaayyy better!

NARS Sheer Glow- Not for me. I think this is more for oily to normal skin types. I have dry skin and this accentuated my dry spots.

Clarisonic- I was really excited to try this but after using it for around two weeks to a month I felt like my skin was dryer than normal and when I stopped using this it went back to normal. I think this is just too much of a strong cleansing method for my dry and very sensitive skin.

Anne Avatar

Cover Girl Lash Blast Waterproof –> tremendously difficult to remove, I thought it was taking my lashes too.
Benefit Stay don’t stray –> I felt as the Phantom of the Opera with such a mask that didn’t prevent my shadow from creasing. I rather use Too Face primer, my shadows stay the entire day.

Lucy Avatar

Benefit Stay Don’t Stray is the absolute worst eye primer that I have ever tried. Creases like crazy on me every time. I just don’t understand why it gets such rave reviews.

Jill Avatar

Definitely Bare Minerals makeup. Everyone raves about it but I can’t stand it. I had to buy two different shades and mix them to get a color that actually looks somewhat natural on me (to me that just seems like a marketing scheme!) and even then, I felt like you could still really tell I was wearing makeup. Also, and this is my biggest complaint, it feels really chalky. I don’t know if I just touch my face a lot or what, but I feel like it rubs off very easily and if I got it on my hands, and then touched my clothes, that it transferred easily. And I have to wear a suit every day so this really bugged me. I switched to LORAC Natural Peformance and it’s been wonderful–no ruboff, completely matches my skin tone, I don’t even need powder.

Rachael Avatar

NARS orgasm blush, totally not worth the hype, not a Holy Grail item. The wear is limited and it does NOT look good on all skin tones, what a waste of $27.

Dorna Avatar

UD midnight cowboy… glitter fallout, of course.

Also, Guerlain’s rouge G lipstick and meteorites. the lipstick bled/stained all around my lips and was so messy… and the meteorites didn’t show up at all no matter how much i packed on!

Courtney Avatar

Illamasqua intense lipgloss in Galactic. Pictures made it look gunmetal gray, but it’s actually bright silver. Mega bummer…so I have to wear it over black lipstick to get it to look how I want.

Nora Avatar

Diorshow. It starts out great, but after a couple of weeks the brush starts to get so clogged with product and it’s just a mess to use. :\

vio Avatar

Too many to mention!! I must have freaky skin but Nars Orgasm looks like dirt on me, most colours on the Naked palette are super crepey, MUFE HD foundation shows all of my lines..

natalia Avatar

Benefit Powderflage. I saw no difference whatsoever. Waste of time to take a whole extra step in applying it under my eyes when my setting powder has the exact same result.

UD 24/7 Liners. I only have one and it’s the dual ended pencil from the naked palette, but I think its terrible!

MakeupMonster Avatar

NARS Orgasm didn’t do anything for me, it just looked like pink glitter.
Maybelline Great Lash, the most crappy mascara I ever tried!
Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara, horrible… Horrible, plain horrible.
Clarisonic, Braun did a great face brush a couple of years ago…
It was far cheaper AND better 🙁
A couple of MAC lipsticks that just didn’t live up to my expectations.

Emily Avatar

UD 24/7 have no staying power on me
Zoya polish formula is really hard for me to work with for some reason and takes eons to dry
Chanel aqualumieres- so Meh for me
UDPP as well
Revlon Photoready looked really off and cakey
Smashbox face primers did nothing
MAC 187 for some reason refuses to wash clean of oil ( used MAC brush cleaner, baby soap etc) so I don’t use it
Bare Minerals to the Nth
Everything La Mer

Melissa Avatar

Contrary to popular opinion, my biggest disappointment was probably the Naked Palette. It’s not the worst thing ever, but there’s significant creasing with about half the colors, no matter what I try.

I think it’s sort of interesting that many of the product disappointments are near-HG to me. LashBlast, MUFE HD, 24/7 Liners, Orgasm, Voluminous, Creme de Nude… And my literal Holy Grail of Everything Beauty Related, the Clarisonic!

Julia Avatar

The naked palette has some gorgeous colors and I still use it quite a bit but I think the palette overall has too much warmth! I have very cool toned skin and some of the colors are just icky!!

Sheryl Avatar

I agree with you Julia! I waited for so long to get my hands of this palette, but I hardly ever use it! I’m cool fair skinned as well, and look sick when i wear some of the colors. Also the fall out drives me nuts!! Its not a kit I can use in a hurry or I’ll end up with glitter all over my face & i’m too old for that look! 🙁

Lucy Avatar

I too love my Clarasonic and got a couple of friends hooked on it also. I can’t believe it’s gotten bad reviews on here. Everyone that I know loves it. My skins never been better!

Poppy Avatar

1) The Naked Palette: It was far too warm for a girl who’s too fair for MAC foundation, like me.
2) NARS Orgasm: I’m far too pink to even touch that.
3) The Clarisonic: I asked my grandmother to buy this for me, and she did. It rubbed my skin raw. Still mad.

Jocelyn Avatar

So nice to hear from another gal who is TOO fair for MAC foundations and who HATES NARS Orgasm products! When I tell people they’re too dark/orange for me they look at me as if I’m a crazy person!

mariana Avatar

both UDPP and too faced shadow insurance since both creased on me. i feel like my skindinavia spray is also a little disappointing but im still liking it so far. its just not as great as it was hyped up as on youtube.

Mariella Avatar

Probably MAC Twig lipstick. A lot of my friends used it and raved about it as just the BEST lipstick colour around. Well, I got it, hoping it would be my all day, every day lipstick. What a let down – the colour was just awful on me and didn’t work with my colouring at all. Funny thing (and what made me think of this question) – I was cleaning out a drawer the other day and found it. I’ve had it for years now and something has happened to the colour as it has “aged” – it actually looks okay on me now, provided I apply it with a lipstick brush! But I’d never buy it again! Also Bourjois bronzer. So many people love this product so I got some (I have issues with bronzers). Well, it either doesn’t show up at all or, if I can get it to show, it looks like dirt on my face!

Joanne Avatar

Agreed! I tried the MUFE HD foundation in green and it really didn’t negate any redness. I returned it.
Also disappointed in the Bare Escentuals foundation- after a while it sort of settled into lines and didn’t look as smooth.

Elisabeth Avatar

Urban Decay shadows generally. Too much glitter, lots of fallout, and impractical colors that don’t flatter my skintone.

I use Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer and have been happy with it, but just bought UDPP thanks to all the hype. I’ll be curious to see if it holds up or is a disappointment to me, too.

Julia Avatar

The biggest one I can think of is Great Lash. On me it clumps, smudges and just all around sucks. I have never understood the hype. Benefit “That Gal” primer was another product that got great reviews that I didn’t care for. It really did nothing for me as far as primers go and because of the applicator, it is impossible to know when you are low on the product until you realize you are completely empty in the middle of priming your face!! Super annoying! I think MAC eyeliners are also hugely overrated. I am not much of an UD girl, but in my opinion the 24/7 liners blow any MAC liners out of the water!!

Jilliterate Avatar

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush. After everyone raving about it endlessly, I picked it up…and got some pink blush. Pink blush in a cheap, tacky container that broke on the first opening that costs almost $20 at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. I definitely didn’t feel happier about buying it.

Megan Avatar

MUFE HD foundation! wanted to love this, but the coverage and lasting power sucks (did not cover redness). Plus it accentuated my dryness and oiliness on my combo skin. SO OVERRATED. I feel that the mat velvet is a much better foundation from them.
Diorshow mascara, flakes like crazy and way too much mascara comes out on the brush to the point that you’re cleaning the mascara off and losing product.
Too Faced Lip Insurance, made my lips sticky and made it hard to apply my lip liner and lipstick.
Benefit Sugarbomb blush, I felt this was way too sheer to be called a blush, came on more as a sheen than anything.

Yelena Avatar

NARS SHEER MATTE FOUNDATION! omggg dont even get me started. i got oily after 2 hours…my estee lauder double matte is 100x better! (and cheaper)

Kat Avatar

MAC paint pot in Soft Ochre! It’s the perfect colour to even out my lids, but it only lasts 3-4 hours before creasing :/ I feel like I must be using it wrong, but I don’t know how else to use it.

Sarah Avatar

Napoleon Perdis anything. It’s not terribly popular but its still popular.
This company is so expensive! It’s like $55 for a foundation. And their products are just eh….
I have found many drugstore products that blow their NP counterparts out of the water…

Paige Avatar

Popular products that disappointed me:
1) UDPP. It creases on me as well. In addition, it makes it tougher to blend my eye makeup. I find TFSI works better on me.
2) GHD flat iron. I think the heat setting is too high that it burns my hair. My hair texture feels like hay now; very dry and scratchy especially towards the ends. It was not like this before (and yes, I always spray a heat protectant beforehand). I’m going back to my CHI.

Paige Avatar

3) Also UD 24/7 liners. They don’t stay well on my lower lash line. I have better results with Dior crayon eyeliner (waterproof) or Stila smudge stick waterproof eyeliner.

Airisu Avatar

UDPP tends to crease on me too. That said, I take it that the doe-foot absorbs too much product so when you go to put it on, you get way more than you need. When I took some of it off the applicator and just patted it on with my finger, it worked a lot better.
Also:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils – they’re pretty, but if I put on as much as some of the gurus on YT show in their vids, they crease really horribly, I can only get away with using a very thin layer.
Amazing Concealer – I found the consistency too thick and cake-y, I tried it for both an under-eye and all-over. :\
Diorshow – It was just ok… and for the price I expected better than “just ok”

Katherine Avatar

UD 24/7 eyeliner!Even the drugstore Revlon ColorStay eyeliner is so much better- rarely smudged on me but 24/7 made me a mess (panda eyes)!

ariana Avatar

i bought nars orgasm b/c so many magazines state this is a universal blush, but i only think it is pretty as a highlighter on me…mac pro longwear concealer doesnt cover up like i hoped and loreal voluminous clumps and gives me spider lashes!

Elle Avatar

Benefit’s Coralista! I always hear how pigmented it is, but to me, there’s barely any color pay off and I’m very fair skinned. Not to mention is sooo shimmery! I bought it and thought I had a bad one, only to return it and get the same poor pigmentation in the other one as well. Def not worth the price…

Urban decay 247 liners, I bought the black, it was barely black on me, looked like a disgusting dark grey, smudged ALLLLL over the place, and didn’t stay on for as long as i would like. Waste of $20…

At first when I tried NARS Orgasm, I thought it looked so great. But then I tried MAC Peachykeen and I realized Peachykeen was how I hoped NARS Orgasm would be. That time Orgasm disappointed me. (that’s a weird sentence :P)

Maybelline Magnum mascara. it clumps on me and doesnt make much difference on my lashes.

Nars Orgasm comes out nothing on my warm skin tone as well.

MUFE HD Foundation
NARS Orgasm (any product, hate the color)
Urban Decay Primer Potion (it did a good job of keeping the shadow but I couldn’t blend any shadows worth a damn!)
Viktor and Rolf Flower Bomb perfume
YSL Touche Eclait
Benefit Benetint

MAC Prep & Prime Line Filler – doesn’t work at all…it makes my fine lines even more pronounced into grand canyon size wrinkles! And i’ve tried to use it under make-up; just by it self…still no good…when applied over make-up it turns into a goopy mess.

MAC Feline – i had read so many rave reviews that i ended up getting 2 back-ups…huge mistake…it smudges like crazy and stings my eyes…so i end up looking like a red-eyed racoon.

With all the complaining about eyeshadow bases, I felt obligated to say I just use a cheap white eye pencil and blend it in with my skin wherever I’m putting the eyeshadow. it works great. & always be careful when using a brush to blend in the shadows, because the brushes always dull the original effect. Just leave it if you can, or use your finger or VERY light brush strokes. & use a VERY little bit of water on your eyeshadow applicators for the eyeshadows to stand out & stay on. I’ve used these techniques on many people with many different types of skin, including myself, & it’s always worked. Hope this helps 🙂

Benefit Bad Gal eyeliner it was not what I was hoping it was going to be. I like my liners to be blacker than black and Bad Gal went on really light almost charcoal and it made my eyes water. Also Lush soaps, I wanted to love them so bad but they broke my skin out which was sad because Demon in the Dark smelled amazing.
