What lip product wasn't worth the splurge?
Louboutin lipsticks/lipglosses — the lipglosses were definitely NOT worth it at all!

Tom Ford Boys and Girls: There were some very unique colours but I find the tiny bullet daunting, like I might break it off at the base.
Dior. The fragrance really put me off; it reminded me of old lady perfume. I gagged every time I tried to wear it. I bought two from the holiday collection and I ended up tossing them. Which is too bad because they were gorgeous in color, formula, and presentation.
Treat Beauty and Fresh Sugar lip balms. The former were extremely oily and left a bitter aftertaste, and the latter melted so easily that they were impossible to bring with me when I left the house.
Pat McGrath BlitzTrance in Rebel Red. Looks great on many, but not on me. Instead, it winds up looking like a bizarre combo of “old lady” dark pink and a disco ball!
I bought a Melt matte lipstick several years ago. They may have changed the formula since then; IDK. It was so difficult to put on — people told me I had to warm it up on my hand first. Eff that. This was when they were online only, and the lipstick wasn’t even the same shade as their promo and IG pictures. I was so angry I never wore it.
I can make this really easy.
[Insert brand name} + liquid lipstick.
Dry, cracked, horrible. I went from having so many liquid lips to none at all because I realized I hated them. As in, really hated them. So much money spent on matte liquid lips…but I fell hard for that trend, and I tried to make it work for me, failing to realize that super matte liquid lips only look good on lips with filler. 🙁
An Estee Lauder lipstick that I bought years ago – beautiful shade, totally expensive and lasted about 10 minutes on my lips.
I totally agree! Louboutin is not only NOT worth it (lipstick and gloss), but not worth hauling the heavy packaging around in your purse! Does anyone agree with me on the packaging of some luxury products? Heavier does not make it better!!!
Shade shifting lipstick by Lipstick Queen. I bought the purple one (of course) that turns pink. Well, I can barely see the pink on my lips. At least I bought it on sale…
Gucci lipstick. The colors are odd and the texture is so dry that my lips cracked
I’ve had to get rid of so many lipsticks because of shea butter, which causes my lips to peel (I have a latex allergy so that’s possibly related). I splurged on YSL’s Le Nu at the Sephora sale because it was supposed to be a 90% dupe of my favorite MAC Jubilee, which I can’t wear anymore. Well, not only is Le Nu not a dupe of Jubilee at all on my lips, it’s a much pinker and more drying formula. I don’t hate it and will keep it, but it’s a huge disappointment for the price.
Anything Charlotte Tilbury. Her lipsticks are eye wateringly expensive, yet lack staying power.
Not impressed.
