What kind of holiday products or sets intrigue you the most?

I like minis that are sold separately, so mini lipsticks or highlighters or blushes. Obviously, the quality needs to be there, but I think that mini sizes are often plentiful enough to give us a lot of usage but with a better chance at actually finishing up our products while paying less!

I like the big set of mini lipsticks like last year’s MAC Snow Ball or this year’s Bite Beauty Astrology. The reason is that several of us go in on it together, each person taking 2-3 shades and spending less than $20 each. It’s a fun way to try out new shades without wasting money on colors we won’t use.

I would love to do the same with other minis, but most of my friends and coworkers don’t wear much makeup. Lipstick is always wanted, though!

I usually stay away from holiday releases, but I tend to want the Bite Beauty lip mini sets the most because they usually have a good amount of product for a great value and great quality. I’ve found over the years that, generally speaking, the holiday sets either aren’t a great value for what you get (cough, hourglass, cough) or are pushed to the market so fast the the quality isn’t great.

Yes, I agree with Christine. I also love it when brands make a kit of their most popular products, as a good way for people to try the line at a discount-or simply be travel sizes of what they love at home. Mostly, I like this from skincare brands, and hair products too.

I love minis too, and I am also such a sucker for festive looking products. Special scents (e.g. philosophy shower gels in Christmas cookie scent), Christmasy packaging, sparkly colors, etc. Special edition of eye palettes are good too. 🙂

I agree on the minis and samplers. Otherwise, I’m attracted by sparkly holiday things and packaging; just fun items for a fun time of year. E.g., Bite’s duos with shimmer/matte of a couple of years ago, or last year I picked up a shimmer plum Buxom gloss.

Another on the mini train! I’m not really interested in “holiday specific” type things, as I’m not a Christian and am not attracted to Christmas-y themed things.

Well curated and good-to-great quality. Also, it really does help if I find the thematic of the collection to my taste, this both in the shades included and the packaging. Nars hit it out of the park this year on all fronts! But waiting for November to get going on this is going to take a phenomenal degree of self-control on my part.

Mini lipsticks and eyeliners 🙂 Blush palettes. The more the package looks like a tiny, tiny version of the original, the more irresistible they are!

I also would love for a brand to put out a quality set of mini brushes, but I tend not to see that. I would buy a mini set of NARS or Fenty brushes (the pink ones for Fenty) in a heartbeat.

I agree with you completely on this, Christine. I love little mini sets for a couple of different reasons. As you mentioned, I will not get through the lipsticks I own right now, in my lifetime but that doesn’t stop me from buying more!! Minis are great to throw in you bag or stick in your pocket if your running errands, etc. I carried a small lipstick and lip gloss in the pocket of my jeans all across Europe as I didn’t want to carry a purse and wanted my hands free. Worked great. The other reason I love minis is that they lend themselves to being broken up and shared. Rarely is there a set that I can use all the shades. I get to keep what I really wanted and I can gift the remainder. Lastly, along the same lines, I do an advent calendar for my daughter every year and am always looking for small things to stick in the boxes. Mini sizes work perfectly for this.

I love the skincare sets (DE, Biossance, Dr. Dennis Gross, Youth to the People just to name a few) and the body care sets (i.e. l’Occitance).
Makeup: mini lipsticks along with MJ mini eyeliners. I love the Bite Beauty formula although from last year’s mini set I can use only two of the minis. I just ordered the new Kevin Aucoin NUDEPOP The Molten Lip Color Mini Collection and can’t wait to get it. I love that it contains various finishes: a lip topper, two lip glosses and two liquid lipsticks.

I totally agree. I wish there was an option for everything-mini! and that way you can go through more without the guilt of having one too many full size lipsticks.

I am such a sucker for the holiday makeup! I usually make the most purchases during this time because of the Sephora 20% sale in November, Cyber Monday deals and love of the luxe palettes that seem to come out this time of year. I do look at the minis also for gift ideas or work gifts, and to also keep for myself because they are travel friendly and its a wonderful way to try products out. If I lose them or I don’t like a particular color, I don’t feel as bad not using it because I did not pay full price. I love to buy the Hourglass palettes during the holidays because they are travel friendly and to also give a few as gifts, which I’ve done since the Edit palettes have come out yearly around the holidays.

Mini lip sets for me too…I love the variety and I can give away some colors to family/friends as well. I also really look forward to the eye palettes. Even though I don’t really buy them, I like to see the gorgeous packaging ideas that some companies come up with.

I used to be into the skincare sets as well, but I’ve been really unimpressed with them lately. Some of the products in the set ls are so tiny that you’d be better off just asking for a sample of it in store.

Honestly? MAC and Too Faced’s holiday releases. They’re actually the brands I’d already decided to purchase from if their holiday collection would ever drop in my country. I’m also eyeing Hourglass and Nars’s holiday face palettes but with their price point I am unlikely to bite the bullet on them.

Sets of hand lotion, body lotion, foot lotions, lots of skin care sets! And single lipsticks wit some beautiful glitter on the design. Glitter in every box during Christmas times I love it festive. Red boxes, the trimmings. ?
