What keeps you interested in the beauty industry?

Improvements in technology/formulations and (some) new releases go a long way, but these days, I get excited by seeing greater diversity across the community from campaign imagery to foundation shade ranges to types of brands, aesthetics, and styles of doing makeup.

Temptalia does! I love seeing what is new and what is of good quality (even if I’m not necessarily going to buy it), and this site keeps me in the loop. I also like seeing what’s new through some YouTube channels as well.

Though I have complete set of products, every once in awhile I find something new and useful to be excited about.
Also, I am interested in how brands operate — what decisions they make re marketing campaigns, LE strategies, influence on and response to trends, etc.

Innovation in formulation, especially creating make-up with skincare benefits, better properties, new textures.
I will always be interested in beauty, as a mean to `play` with my daily look… but no new colors we’ll be invented; it’s just the beauty industry putting emphasis on specific trends at some point in time.
I personally don’t pay attention to branding and campaigns, new launches. If, for example, a lip or eye color inspires me, I simply don’t care if it’s newly launched or years old; I don’t go with trends.

I think it’s probably my curiosity of what makes the “perfect” something, whether that be foundation, eyeshadow, or what not. Now this is definitely not a healthy attitude because it encourages me to buy many products that I don’t need to find that HG.

Im a licensed cosmetologist not currently working full time in this field.I have been obsessed with makeup ,skincare ,nails ,fragrance ,hair ,bath and body products for as long as I can remember. It is a true passion of mine. Im trying to expand my Instagram @nika2799 if anyone wants to check it out and create a YouTube channel but I want to have all the proper lighting and equipment and do it to the best of my ability so I’ve been holding off until I feel it will be up to the quality standards I want it to be. I watch Beauty based YouTube channels with a small amount of followers ones with a very large following and everything in between. I love comparing opinions of new skincare and makeup. I also do this and meet many people with the same passion for beauty on Instagram and on here of course. I have always loved scouring the new arrivals and value/gift sets of makeup and skincare at Sephora.com and Ulta.com. I love finding the new exciting drugstore and Target products in the seasonal displays and I also love reading new magazines like Allie and New Beauty about cutting edge skin treatments like lasers and innovations in skincare with new scientific technologies incorporated into the products with documented studies proving the effectiveness. This blog and @trendmood1 on Instagram keep me updated on the newest products and sales and I love that.

For awhile now, it’s mostly been wondering what’s next. As in; what will Brand #A come up with in an anticipated collection/collaboration? what colorway will it follow? how will that look in actual practice?
Also, I’ve been applauding and enjoying the growing diversity seen in newer, up and coming companies, and how this has begun to influence at least *some* older, established beauty brands. This has been a refreshing development! It has also shown up those companies who are lagging way behind, focusing on the not so subtle corporate racism, ageism, colorism within the beauty industry’s ugly side.
In the end, for me, it’s always about the “what’s next”.

Aside from the usual reasons to keep interested, fairly well informed and UTD, love the info on the business side of the industry and the history/trends of the decades.

The innovations in formulas and new colors; seeing interesting looks on pinterest and IG; my love of color and makeup and their power to transform.

I think it is mostly because of the artistic outlet. I like mixing shades and finishes and trying to get that perfect look, something artistic and yet wearable, LOL.
I also have to admit that given my current living situation, it satisfies a shopping urge, also. I don’t have stores in my immediate area and have no need to furniture, clothing, etc. I think makeup shopping and craft shopping satisfy that urge for retail therapy.

I really just love the variety of colours that are being brought out (having said that, I am tired of all the pinks, oranges and red eyeshadows) and improvements to the overall standards of makeup generally.
I like seeing the wider range of foundations being offered to include a wide range of skintones.
I don’t follow campaigns, nor am I interested in the packaging. But I just love makeup and reading Temptalia makes my day.

I am interested in new releases, new formulas. I always want to find better products. And I love watching youtube videos when beautiful girls do their makeup. And my English is better by watching youtube 🙂

Everything! From the beautiful colors to glitter, mermaids, unicorns, beautiful presentation of not they just whisper my name. Did I mention my brain in the beauty isles is like Dirithy🐠the fish? Oh! Look at that new pretty thing…there I go checking it out! Lol! Disaster! 🤦🏻‍♀️But I love it!
