We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I really enjoy the creativity of makeup. I like trying different combinations of color, textures, etc. It is a relatively inexpensive (LOL) creative outlet. The fact that new products, new colors and ways to use them are created all of the time keeps me coming back to try something new or use something in a way that I hadn’t thought of before.
The constant challenge, for one thing! For instance; trying new, interesting color schemes by using my newer stuff with my tried & trues, accomadating what father time is slowly serving up to me, pushing myself to learn and try to master new techniques and methods of application, and most importantly, keeping it fun!
I really love how makeup enhances and compliments my facial features. As I’ve gotten older I really appreciate all the help I can get ?
New products being shown how they enhance our beauty. Or old products used in new ways.
Innovation, new formulas and possibilities. And even better if all that new better quality (which is expensive at first) hits the drugstore shelves.
The possibility of creating endless new and exciting looks, as well as experimenting with colour/texture/application.
New products as well as Pinterest and Youtube.
The way it makes me feel my best. And that has been true from my younger days to now as the years have piled on.
Endless creative opportunities; those ‘aha’ moments when I try something new that works well; being inspired by others’ use and ideas; positive feedback from others. I’ve been playing in makeup since I was 11 — so maybe something in my dna is a factor too, like simple fun and vanity.
There’s just always something new – new colour, new formula, new product – and it’s hard to resist the “lure of the new”. I remember when there was no such thing as eyeshadow primers or face primers. Ten years ago, there were no Ambient Light Powders. It’s just wonderful the advancement in performance and the range of new stuff to try.
I agree with Christine! I love learning new techniques and working on my own skills.
COLOR!!! Color, color, color, more color.
Oh, and color. 🙂
LOL! Temptalia (solely) keeps me addicted!!! LOL!
I’v always been an artistic person, before I was into makeup, I would spend all of my time practicing water colour painting. Add in my mental health issues. I always like to have an artistic outlet. I love trying different shade combos, and textures, and looks. I love how I can make myself look like me, but better. Or like a totally different person. That keeps me interested for sure!!!
I also find makeup fascinating!! all of the new colours, and formula’s coming out. I feel most days, like I could never catch up with everything that’s coming out!!
There is always something new to play with. And all the pretty colors, textures, packaging, it’s like Christmas, and your birthday all year round. And so many talented people out there to help you find yourself.
That’s how I feel…always something new! Like a great surprise.
The creativity of putting together a different look every day. Also, the new colors, finishes, and products. There is always something interesting to try.
New formulas/products, the new mac metallic lipsticks are a good example.
New “crazy” colours getting more popular, the new mac colour Rocker matte lipsticks and the work it out mascaras are a good example.
The “hunt” for holy grail products. Trying out new products to find a holy grail product never gets boring.
I just love the creativity of different looks, shades and combinations to wear and experiment with. I also really enjoy reading what others think, feel and do on this blog.
New innovations and the improved quality of makeup is inspiring also.
The promise of beauty of course! Just like you Christine I love to see others creativity and I love trying new techniques. The possibilities are endless and trying new products is like Christmas all year. ❤️?
The ability to experiment and to improve upon. For instance, mixing different textures of ES and finding new products that are better than the ones you are currently using.
I love the “possibilities” of makeup. From everyday looks to complete transformations to something wild and exotic, there is just endless possibilities. Makeup gives me ways to express myself.
p.s. This is a great question!
This blog helps me along with different ways to apply eye shadow. I get very easily bored with eyeshadow I would rather not even wear it if I have to do it the same all the time.
I find the selection of the different products overwhelming so seeing what is rated good and reading comments seeing application helps.
Some blogs they just review what they like. Or what they are paid to hype. Christine reviews everything.
I live learning and trying new things. I’ve recently gotten used to a stronger brow and I’ve applied false lashes twice successfully. Not worn in public yet tho.
Next I’d like to learn winged liner and to get used to red lipstick.
As much as I live gardens as much as I live colors. Finding, mixing, trying on new textures on eyebrows, blush , lips. Face. Is so much fun and makes me feel unique and beautiful, lively, and relaxed when I play with it.
Creativity and innovation. Also I like good looking skin and I often feel I don’t have that without base. But then I’m so pale with base I need something on top, it’s a vicious circle.
The same things that keep me interested in fashion! New things, new trends…just when we get saturated in something, the pendulum swings! Right now it’s unconventional colors, then it can swing to basic neutrals, but with a new twist. Always fresh and exciting. Colors, finishes, textures, formulae…always evolving, just like us.
