On a make up product, it’s definitely my Cle de Peau concealer stick, which I’m not even happy with 🙁 For skincare on the other hand, it’s Creme de La Mer, which is worth every penny in my opinion!

Try the “Starting Over” cream, I use the oil free one and it’s delicious on the skin and it smells soo much better than the Dr Weil products!! I used to work for Origins here in Australia and I was given the products for free, the serum I used and kind of liked, but the cream was way too heavy for me, it’s been sitting in my cupboard going off for the last 4 years!! =/

Make Up Forever HD Powder. We don’t get that here in South Africa, so I have to ask somebody to get it for me and pay the postage as well! 🙂
Always a bargain though. I just love it. Fell in love with it when my ex fiance brought it over to me in 2008. I was more impressed with that little container of powder than with all the Victoria Secret undies and 3 bottles of Angel perfume put together! LOL!

My biggest beauty splurge was my recent IMANcosmetics haul in preparation for their YouTube leather and lace video contest. I believe I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $160.00 or close to it. Well worth the purchase….contest or not!

Amanda Avatar

MUFE’s HD foundation. It costs SGD$75 to get it in Sephora Singapore, which I think rivals the higher end foundation prices. I like it a lot, though I wished my staple foundation would be a tad more affordable.

I always feel like NARS is a splurge. $20+ for a lip gloss, lipstick or blush seems excessive to me, so I wait until I can get a discount or buy their products in value sets. I love the quality and the pretty colors. I even like the simple black packaging.

Dani Diamond Avatar

Haha i spent £750 at MAC in one day, then another hundred odd at other counters in House of Frazer, then i went back the next day and spentanother £200 odd, cant remember but i know it was nearly a grand in one week i spent when i was homeless with savings money i went and splurged, biggst ever spend!

Rosanna Avatar

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation AT $55 CAD! Good thing I got 15% off last year with their F&F printable coupon!

I also consider the NARS Duo eyeshadows bit of a splurge because they are so expensive at $38 CAD (+ tax…) but so worth it.

Heck, NARS is my splurge. MAC is my staple. XD

It was definitely the Guerlain Voyage Powder in Midnight Diamond that I tracked down on eBay, it cost me about $170. Ouch! (That is the normal retail price by the way, but I never pay that much for them, usually around or less than $100.)

Val Avatar

My Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale eye cream which cost me $169. I have 3 or 4 fine lines under my eyes and I always thought it’s because I am getting older (just turned 30 when I started having these lines). Turns out it because I have extremely dry undereye “bags”. I have better results with my MAC fast response eye cream but I still love the Guerlain one….

monika-luiza Avatar

mac “stylistics” sheer mystery powder for 52€, I bought it because I loved the compact so much and the quality of the powder + I could justify it because it came with a refill 😉

When I spent on more than one item during MAC collections from before Christmas until April 2010 (?) and then I stopped because I have to use up the things I have now at some point. When it comes to MAC or my makeup in general what I use up mostly are the lip pencils, lipsticks, eye pencils, mascaras, I used up one bronzer but I have only ever finished off one shadow! It’s ridiculous really.

Dusty Avatar

finally broke down and picked up chanel’s pro lumiere foundation earlier this week. not a HUGE purchase but i’m so spoiled on pro discounts that spending over $50.00 on a 1oz bottle of foundation isn’t something i do every day 😉

now the HORRIBLE part is that i’m so in love with it, i’m going back to pick up a few more shades to add them to my kit! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

the only other splurge i can think of is way back last year when mac launched “style black” i bought two of EVERYTHING that came out with that collection because i was so in love with it! lol!

baby in a corner Avatar

the prolumiere is definitely a good foundation. I used up a bottle before. Have you tried the dior skin nude? I use that now, prefer it!

Alexis Avatar

I just started that pricey habit of purchasing expensive perfumes. I didn’t think it was worth it until I discovered all these wonderful unknown scents!

Kalex Avatar

I just got Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume and Dior’s Minaudiere Clutch. The clutch was $80 before the FF discount so I’m glad that Sephora had it!

Jennifer Avatar

Nars Turkish Delight lipgloss…never thought I’d pay over $20 for one gloss…I can justify paying $40 plus for like an Urban Decay palette or something similar but not for a gloss or nail polish 😛

Margarett Avatar

My biggest splurge was for the entire MAC Venomous Villians collection. Yes, I bought 1 of everything (even the regular items not in special packaging.)

The most expensive single item in makeup I have purchased is my Make Up Forever Flash palette.

The most expensive brush I have purchased was a Hakuhodo blending brush.

Tara Avatar

My HAUL yesterday at sephora ff sale!!! i got lipsticks in illamasqua, guerlain, givenchy, yves st laurent, and dior… my first high-end lipstick splurge

Vanessa Avatar

I am ashamed to say i spent $400.00 on MAC VV Collection. Yup i was very bad and i will not be doing that ever again. I think i almost grounded myself! lol

Katie Avatar

I would have to say NARS Laguna. I think it’s about $34 plus tax or something like that. Maybe to some people it doesn’t seem like much but it’s just a bronzer. Nothing spectacular. I don’t even use it all over the face, just to contour. I guess that’s a good thing though because I don’t need to use much and the pan is huge so it’ll last me a long time.

I also splurge on MAC brushes because I think good brushes are absolutely essential to my make up routine. Also, MUFE foundations. Foundation sets the stage for flawless makeup, in my opinion. So it’s worth the splurge. And, I bought the Naked palette, but it was worth every cent!

Jenn Avatar

cle de peau concealer…. it is very pricey but worth every penny!!! It is the best concealer I have ever used. It lasted almost a year with everyday use. You get a good amount of product for your money.
I am also a sucker for the guerlain rouge g lipsticks! They are amazing!

Mires Avatar

I’d say MAC because when I go there I just end up buying more than one item and it is usually something I don’t really need but I become so impulsive, at one point I have bought all the palettes for a collection! now I don’t think I would ever do that again without researching first, that was also because I didn’t know about your blog. so this has helped my impulsive buying.

Miss Ruby Rouge Avatar

If it’s on a single product then it has to be my recent purchase of “Lancome’s Genifique Youth Activating Serum”, I bought the 75 ml which was a special size, for $230 (or it could have cost me more actually, I can’t remeber cos I got $20 off of my purchase for that day!!)I’m not complaining though, my skins never looked better so it’s worth every penny!! 😉

Alexis Avatar

it’s definitely fragrance related
Kilian’s Travel set – it contains a magnetic heavy black laquer container you slip the perfume into. It’s somthing I have been obsessing over for a long time. I figured I take advantage of the Saks sale and bought it during my lunch hour. Fragrance is very personal and an emotional thing for me. This was well worth the wait and money.

Emjoi Soft Caress Gold Cordless Rechargeable Epilator from 2 years ago. I would have been great if it worked with my “blonde” hair. One lower it would only pull on the hair but on high it would break the hair before removing the root. >_<

Melinda Avatar

When I was about to graduate I look for a polish to go with my dress, so I ended up buying OPI tickle my francey, dulce de leche, got a date to-knight, ORLY solid gold, ESSIE playa del platinum, and two Seche Vite. About 70$ I wasn’t proud :p

Courtney Avatar

Haven’t bought anything massively expensive, but for me splurging is buying a bunch of stuff, so my Mac VV haul was possibly my biggest makeup splurge ever.

leesie Avatar

Right now, I guess it’d be my NARS single shadow. It was sort of impulsive…
I’ve bought UD palettes, and I don’t consider them a splurge, really, because they’re such good deals, value-wise.
I haven’t yet splurged on any one item, although when I bought my first UDPP, I considered it a splurge. However, in a week or two, I’m going to stop resisting and order ChG’s DV8…on ebay. That’ll be the most I’ll have ever spent on a nail polish in my life, but it’s so gorgeous I have to have it.

Natalie Avatar

Definitely my TEMPTU airbrush system! It was a splurge but it was part of my college graduation present. I love it! My skin has really cleared up even more, since I’m not using brushes. It’s easy to travel with, looks great in photos, and stays on forever while looking totally natural. Definitely worth it!

Dani Avatar

I think my biggest splurge is my Nars Multiple in Luxor. Its $46 before tax in Canada for a highlighter. I love it but I do feel like I use it up quickly especially in the winter. Non makeup related my biggest Splurge has been La Mer eyecream! It is incredible and I love it but soOoo expensive.

maddie Avatar

Dior L’or deVie face cream… dont waste your money
ive tried lots of high priced creams/ serums… if anyone has a must have item in this category, let me know ..please!!!!

Jess Avatar

For someone who doesn’t regularly use perfume, D&G Rose the One (purchased at full priced at Sephora) was a pretty big splurge for me. With tax, it came out to over $100. Yikes! But I felt it was just a scent that suited ME, so I just went ahead and did it.

Kelly Avatar

I don’t really have one single product I spend my paychecks on… but I do love buying nail polish. Bottle after bottle, it’s definitely my favorite thing:)

Chau Avatar

Guerlain Place Vendome 6 color ecrin is the most expensive single purchase I’ve ever made. I don’t regret but will not buy any more guerlain eyeshadows.

Marian Avatar

$560 I went to sephora and got everything I wanted…including the clarisonic mia…I enjoy all of my products but I still felt a lil sick after I left the store…lol!

Crowstoes Avatar

On a single item., gucci by gucci perfume.
ANY of my MAC purchases….lol
for me mac is kind of like walmart., i just CANT leave that damn store without spending at least 100.00. 🙂
thank god i limit my visits!!!

Tina Avatar

Well, I like gadgets. I bought the Clarisonic — it gives me skin tags on my body and makes my pores bigger on my face :(. I also have the baby quasar pro pack kit, and I don’t use them much. The blue one doesn’t help with acne, and the red one just takes so long to use :(. I also bought fusion beauty lipgloss in nude. I love that lipgloss — it doesn’t dry out my lips, but since then, I have found Sephora lipglosses which don’t dry my lips. I use expensive skin care — Jan Marini — which costs me $300 for the kit.

Chrystal Avatar

I think mine would be the NARS Laguna Bronzer and the NARS Orgasm Blush. I wish I never bothered though, I hardly ever use the bronzer though I do use the blusher, it just wasn’t worth the money.

Mar Avatar

Over 100 euros on Estée Lauder Pore Minimizing Skin Refinesher serum and Self Heating Micro Peeling…
My skin looked radiant and clear so I guess the money was well spended!

Ave Avatar

My biggest beauty splurge was when I went to the unveiling of M.A.C.’s Venomous Villians collection. I spent well over $450.00. It’s embarrassing, but I have no regrets!!!

Morenaza Avatar

probably the Make Up Forever Face and Body foundation (like $40) And their Matte Velvet powder foundation ($38??), too. and their eyeshadows.

Also, epensive curly-hair products work the best on my hair as opposed to walmart products… so i bought a tub of Miss Jessies” curly pudding for… i cant remember i think like $50 for a 160z tub.

shees, being a female is expensive.

my next biggest purchase will be he MUFE beauty in the box. I might just buy the 2 aqua creams intend of the whole box tho.
