What is your most used highlighter (of all-time)? Least used?
I don’t use it as a cheek highlighter but rather all-over and mixed with foundation: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter! For a more targeted highlighter, possibly Laura Geller Gilded Honey or Ballerina… more recently, I’d say MAC Fairly Precious. I feel like for the last five years or longer, it’s hard for me to just use one thing consistently… even if I could since there are SO many great products now! Least used for is… you know, a lot, since I don’t return to a lot of products more than a handful of times!
It’s a tie: Laura Mercier Baked Highlighter 01 and Dior Nude Luminizer in Pink Glow. LM for daytime looks, Dior for nighttime looks. Since I don’t wear highlighter every day, I think it comes out to a tie. My most used highlighter for travel is Wet ’n’ Wild Blossom Glow.
Regarding least-used highlighters, I have several that I never use: ABH Moonchild Glow Kit, Smashbox Petal Metal in Gilded Rose, ColourPop Lite Stix in Urth, ColourPop Disney Designer Collection in Big Tough Girl, and two ColourPop Super Shock Highlighters: Monster and Lunch Money. (I love ColourPop in general, but I’m just not a fan of these particular products.)
So funny! I thought I’d end up loving the Laura Mercier 01 but rarely reach for it…. but then ColourPop Urth and Lunch Money are in heavy rotation!
I love the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Light in Incandescent. Second place would be a tie for Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter and Colorpop’s Super Shock highlighter in Smoke and Whistles.
My go to favorites are Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder and Dior Nude Air Glowing gardens in Pink.
My most used highlighter of ALL time is Laura Geller Baked Highlighter Duo in “French Vanilla and Portofino.” It is the freshest, dewiest looking highlighter, with absolutely NO glitter. It is just so beautiful!
Oh I love that highlighter so much! I always forget about it, but you’re right, it’s so dewy and Portofino reminds me of pure crushed pearls.
Yes! It is so so gorgeous. I cannot be without that duo! I will go crazy if I hit pan and cannot find it again. Luckily it’s all over ebay and still on Laura Geller’s site (for now anyway). 🙂
MAC Lightscapade or Becca Moonstone are the two highlighters I’ve used the longest and most consistently
My least used are probably anything duochrome. Anything blue, pink, green shifting. Those were fun for a hot minute but I haven’t reached for them in some time and I don’t see myself reaching for them any time soon!
MAC Lightscapade or Becca Moonstone are also my two most used highlighters.
I think they just look so ethereal on fair to light skin tones.
My most used has been nudestix illuminaughty and Becca liquid champagne pop! Least used is probably colourpop flexitarian. It’s a little too intense for me, even for night time.
Really, CT Hollywood Flawless Filter is my most used highlight. I use it every single day, even layering other highlighters over top of it. Second was the pinky highlight in the MUFE Sculpting 01 Duo. I still love that highlight. I had Becca Moonstone for a while, but the undertone didn’t really suit me.
My least used are probably my newest, Bare Minerals Joy Highlight, and Kaleidos Makeup Star Surfer Highlight. I love them both, still!
Another vote for Laura Mercier Baked Highlighter 01.
Leasted used and I gave it away Becca champagne liquid
Mac Fairly Precious is the only one i have and love.
ABH x Amrezy, Ofra Glazed Donut, MAC Whisper Of Gilt, MJ Dew You Dew Drops and DoC Miramé are likely my most used.
Ofra Covent Garden may be one of my least used. Not because I don’t love it, I just don’t use pinky highlighters very often.
Maybe MUG Lustre because I have historically used it a lot in summer to give my face a tanned glow look without looking too warm. It’s that or ABH loose pigment Daiquiri. I grab that a lot too.
Not a fan of highlighters on myself. I just constantly buy the MAC Sculpting/Shaping powder in Emphasize and illuminate some areas of my face if I need something extra. I think I went through 3 at this point. Otherwise, I don’t like the look of straightforward highlighter on myself.
Of all time it would be Lush’s Feeling Younger skin tint for a cream product (my use of it is about 50-50 between mixing it into foundation or using it as a highlighter proper). I’ve probably gone through about 7 pots of Feeling Younger over the course of the years. For a powder product, it would probably be The Balm’s Mary Lou-minizer, which I wouldn’t say is my all-time favorite in that category, it’s just a nice steady workhorse suitable for most looks that’s easy to grab and apply in a rush without worrying about overdoing it.
Least used by circumstance is my Ofra Cloud 9 that came to me smashed and I was too lazy to try to exchange it since it was by mail order and Ulta doesn’t have it in store. Least used because I’m not a huge fan has to go either Bobbi Brown Pink Glow shimmer brick which was just too dark and glittery for my tastes and the Stila Shade Mystere thing that I impulse bought before reviews and was just odd looking and chunky on me.
Most used of all time would be Notoriously Morbid Osteomancy and City Color Cosmetics Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder (DC, but I bought 2 backups). Runners up would be ABH Moonchild Glow Kit (especially Pink Heart and Lucky Clover), and Looxi Beauty HLs in Charmed, Ever After, Voodoo, Wicked, and Luna.
Least used — Cream highlighters. I give most of them away. Creams don’t usually last on my oily skin, but I have a few that do, and I end up forgetting that I kept them. I recently put a couple of them on my vanity so I can remember to use them.
I just finished MJ Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter, I would put it on all over on top of my foundation. I’m a little lost now that I’ve finished it and I’m not sure if I want an all over highlighter again, I’m starting to get some very fine lines on my face and they are starting to be “highlighted” by highlighter. I am using RMS Living Luminizer in Natural right now on select areas on my face. I have an old KVD highlighter that I don’t use any more.
I layer Evanhealy Serum, a touch of whipped shea butter, and Burberry‘s Fresh Glow Luminous Base in nude radiance underneath a mix of NARS’ Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Groenland/Terre Neuve. It’s glowy and radiant but not overly so so I spot highlight with Burberry’s Fresh Glow Highlighter Pen. I’m getting fine lines and can’t wear powder highlighter well (at least I haven’t found one that works) so I stick to the creams and liquids.
My most used is Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, I use it every day. My next used would be ABH Amrezy. My least used is Ofra Pillow Talk & Becca Pearl in cream formula.
Currently my most used is Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter (Moonstone) but only because I shattered my favorite Jouer Cosmetics Highlight (Citrine) which I just repurchased in the Sephora VIB/Rouge sale so it will once again take it’s spot at the top of my list for powder highlighter. When it comes to cream highlighters I use Tata Harper Cheek Tint (Very Highlighting) or rms beauty Living Luminizer because I love a glossy sheen more than any other kind of highlight.
Natasha Denona All Over Glow. The only highlighter I have ever come close to panning and I have repurchased. It can be built up. Doesn’t show texture. Can be used as a lit from within glow. I use it before other highlighter to kind of even out the transition. I wear it before running (like alone…in the woods…) just because it makes me feel better. Ofra Glow Goals is my favorite aside from that.
I don’t use a highlighter because I find I prefer a matte looking finish to my face.
Probably NARS Satellite of Love highlighting blush, just due to how long I’ve had it, although ColourPop
x Disney Midnight Masquerade Andalasia has been getting quite a bit of use since I got it as a birthday gift last year!
MAC Soft & Gentle, followed by ELxVB Modern Mercury. Chanel’s Eclat du Desert is in heavy rotation these days!
My favorite powder highliter is Becca Champagne Pop and a similar color by Laura Mercier. I also use the Color Fx liquid drops in Rose Gold, Gold, or a soft white pearl either mixed with my foundation or a drop blended at the top of my cheekbones and nose.
My least used, if I even still have it is NARS Albatross, a powder.
Most used is MAC Extra Dimension highlighter in Double Gleam. Not sure the least….I guess that would be “all the others”, lol.
Definitely the Balm’s Mary Lou-Manizer. A classic, and I’ve hit pan on it multiple times which I never do with makeup normally! Unfortunately lately the packaging has seemed to detach and it’s fallen and broke on me multiple times, so I am looking for something new.
Most – Either Becca Pearl or a reeeaaaalllllyyyy old (and sadly hasn’t been available in years) Essence Cosmetics “Soo Glow” cream to powder.
Least – I collect Melt Cosmetics and added Nova to my collection just to have it, but it’s way too dark to ever be a highlight on my fair skin.
Most used would be Jeffree Star Sarcophagus – it is the most beautiful peachy glow, and Becca Champagne Pop. Even though it’s a little dark for me, I still love it.
Least used would be ABH So Hollywood and Becca Moonstone. They just don’t flatter me.
Of ALL time I’d have to say Hourglass Luminous Light but that’s mostly because for a while it was my only highlighter (I now have close to 30). In the past 2 years it’s definitely been Becca Rose Quartz. My least used is Essence Pure Nude. It’s beautiful but it’s buried in my collection and even though it always looks lovely when I use for some reason I hardly reach for it.
