I love a soft shimmering shade like MAC Shroom on the lid with a medium brown like MAC Soft Brown in the crease! You can add a little oomph by going darker on cheeks or lips or else keep those both rather natural.

I like MAC “All that Glitters” with “Twinks” and “Satin Taupe” in the crease. On the cheeks its NARS “Deep Throat” blush and lips is MAC “Syrup”

I do revlon colorstay in ivory on my face, with the prescriptives all skins minerals powder in level 1 cool over it, with MAC pinch o’ peach as blush, hue on my lips, MAC bare study paint pot all over my lid, naked lunch as a highlight, and satin taupe on the outer half of my lid and in the crease as well as under my eye, then i do almay liquid liner in brown on the top lash line and loreal voluminous mascara in carbon black on my lashes πŸ™‚

My “safe look” consists of:

Eyes- MAC Naked pigment on the lids, Espresso on the outer-V & halfway into the crease & Brown Script on the other half.

Checks- NARS LoveJoy or Orgasm blush

lips- Smashbox Pixel lipgloss or a nude lip

Light foundation applied with a damp sponge. Dust of translucent powder, peachy blush, neat brows, mascara and a lip stain.
Looks fresh and neat. Especially in this totally unbearable heat!!!!

i wear liquid foundation, mineral powder foundation, then for eyes, i wear brown/gold eyeshadows like MAC’s Gilt By Association and Natural Flare (both are limited) to my school or work. Then I draw my eyeline with a gel eye liner. For highlighting, I wear MAC’s Soft and Gentle MSF or By Candlelight MSF. Then Benefit’s Coralista or NARS’ Orgasm for cheeks! For lips, I wear nude-pink color like MAC’s Lady Day or Saint German

MAC Jest on the eyelid or another pretty yet neutral shade and tightline the eyes and fill the water line with a black pencil. Mascara. MAC Coppertone/NARS Lovejoy/Benefit Dallas on cheeks and a random not too bright lip.

MAC’s Brule on the lid with Wedge in the crease, a dark brown eye liner and dark brown mascara, a soft blush (MAC’s Dainty or NARS Sex Appeal), and a light lip color (usually a peachy pink).

Oh my e/s are the same, but with heavy black e/l and mascara πŸ˜€ Buddy Up blush (it doesn’t look dirty/sparkly on me), or Deep Throat, and Ever Hip l/s.

Ive been liking a cool tone brown or taupe all over the lid, darker taupe (Nars Bali) on the outer half and in the crease with a bit of black pencil liner (usually MUFE black liner) just on the outer half of my upper lid and lancome mascara. Ive been skipping foundation lately, favoring a lighter tinted moisturizer and pairing it with simple chapstick in place of gloss or lip stick.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in RSVP all over lid, MAC Satin Taupe in the crease. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow in Copper Penny on lower lashline and MAC Rice Paper as highlight on browbone.
LANCOME Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Cafe on upper eyeline and MAC Carbon on inner lashline.
Curl lashes and apply a fiber rich mascara in black – eg. Majolica Majorca Lash Expander.
Apply a light pink blush – eg. MAC Well Dressed and a lip balm!

I’m a nurse so I try to keep it simple but still make myself look put together. I like UD toasted all over the lid with MAC twinks in the crease. UD liquid liner in perversion (black) and L’oreal extreme volume collagen booster mascara. Bare Minerals matte, NARS laguna bronzer, and then a blush such as MAC coygirl or MAC bite of an apple. Then I usually leave the lips bare but every once in a while I’ll wear MAC hue l/s with MAC fashion scoop cremesheen glass over πŸ™‚

It’s either a shimmery version with All That Glitters or Retrospeck on the lid and Woodwinked or Tempting in the crease – or a shimmy peach on the lid with Gleam or Grain and a shimmery green in the crease with Greensmoke or Sumptuous Olive – or the matte version with BrulΓ© on the lid and Kid and Cork in the crease.
Soft pink cheeks and neutral lips.

i do my signature look every single day!
mac blot powder in light
bobbi brown gel eyeliner caviar (black-brown)
maybelline great lash mascara
white pencil on waterline

simply love it πŸ™‚

Eyes – I usually use Soft Ochre Paint Pot and Half Baked and Smog eyeshadow for lid and crease if I have time. Topped with some brown eyeliner and Plushlash.. Oh and Sweet Joy as my highlight πŸ™‚

Face – Mineralize Skinfinish Natural as a light coverage foundation and a peachy blush like NARS Orgasm on the cheeks

Lips – A peachy or nude shade of lipstick like Freckletone or Cherish, or just a lipglass πŸ™‚ Yay for Strange Potion!

eyes: just liquid eyeliner (not too thin), no eyeshadow.. maybe an inner corner highlight!
cheeks: pink or coral blush and a tiny bit bronzer
lips:sometimes a pink, coral or nude gloss.. and rarely a pink lipstick!!

of course i apply a light foundation (chanels’ vitalumiΓ¨re aqua or max factor’s weightless foundation).. and concealer to cover up any blemishes and dark circles!!

i also fill in my brows with brow powder!!

I find that some concealer is enough to even out my skin tone, then wear a nice wheat colored eyeshadow (from Stila, no name) on the lid and a darker MAC Expresso eyeshadow to line the eyes, then finish with Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner in black along the lash line and some lining the outer edge of the bottom lash line. Then finish with some peachy blush.

My I-don’t-want-to-think-about-it, I-don’t-have-time-for-anything-complicated look is MAC Dark Soul pigment all over the lid, Naked pigment as a brow highlight and lots of black eyeliner. Nude lip and nothing on the cheeks.

I realize that might sound like it’s a bit dark and for some people, might be over-the-top for work, but I work in retail (dark or dramatic makeup isn’t really a big thing for us). This is just my simple, fast smokey everyday look!

I am a lover of understated makeup so all of my makeup looks are safe for either school or work, for I only wear a neutral eye designs, a subtle blush color and gorgeous lippie.

My “safe” and I would say “elegant” look for work is a great skin to start with (I always use foundation+concealer+powder), neutral eyes (beige+brown) + brown eyeliner + peach blush + pinky/brown lipstick with a creamy finish!

But for me using only this is kind of boring…..but I always get compliments on this look πŸ™‚

Face: Smashbox photofinish primer, Cinique superfit makeup foundation in neutral and MAC’s prep&prime translucent powder.

Cheeks- MAC’s blush in Danity

Lips- it changes every time but lets say MAC’s lipstick in Syrup (I think I use that one most often)

Eyes- UDPP, UD’s scratch on the lid,UD’s Underground in the crease,UD’s e/s in Zero in outern corner,MAC’s Blanc Type as a brow bone highlighter, then I line my upper lash line with UD’s 24/7 eyeliner in Zero and apply 2 coats of Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara.

I forgot, I also use The Balms Mary Loumanizer as a cheek highlighter. I actually purchased that one after reading your review Christine and you were right, it’s a really great highlighter!

It’s funny, I’ve only very recently gotten into neutrals. My go-to safe look has always been a medium silver with some lighter bits as highlights. I had an old W&W cream eye color palette I used to do this until I ran out. Lately, I’ve been using either Physicians Formula Smokey Shimmer Strip for Green Eyes and/or the silver/dark gray baked shadow duo from Ulta.

However, aside from crazy smokey looks, or doing bright neons up to the browbone or something, if I feel like wearing bright colors on my eyes, I usually do so. Since I don’t wear cheek product and very rarely wear lip product, I feel like I can get away with more in the eye shadow arena. So I’ll wear blues, greens, and purples all the time. I even have a shirt I (very) occasionally have worn a red with.

lately ive been doing lauren conrad kind of looks a lot but i also love wearing lightish purple smokey eyes. i keep the whole lid a metallicy purple and use a dark black purple in the outer corner

either Naked Lunch as a lid color and highlight or Ricepaper as a highlight with either Woodwinked or Satin Taupe on the lid, line my eyes with a soft black pencil (MUFE 1L) and add mascara

mine has been:

UDPP or Soft Ochre paint pot has primer
Kat Von D Clay on lid and highlight
MAC Wedge in the crease and outer third
Bare Escentuals Big, Bright, & Brilliant e/l in Midnight Gold
NARS Deep Throat for blush
A Smashbox cream highlighter to highlight my cheeks (don’t know the color as it was a quad)
MAC Strange Potion or NARS Easy Lover for gloss

So since its winter and I tend to have drier skin, I’ve officially switched over to liquid foundation for the season. I’m using Stilas Natural Finish Oil free liquid foundation. For my cheeks I usually go with Nars orgasm. I use diorskin skin shimmer in amber diamond to highlight my cheeks. I use smashboxes lid primer then usually Macs e/s ricepaper for tearducts n highlighter. Woodwinked on the crease and outer third of my lid n urban decays e/s in Sin on my lid. But it does vary! Some days I do Macs getaway bronze on my cheeks. Whatever looks good! Lol

UD YDK on the lid with UD twice baked in the crease
MAC satin taupe on the lid with MAC bloodline pigment in the crease (LIGHTLY)
then i don’t wear heavy blush, always with a light hand MAC band of roses blush then i love contouring so i do that lightly under my cheekbones
then i use revlon colourburst lippie in rosy nude which evens out any discolouration on my lips and disguises any dryness as its the same colour as my lips

Bright eyeshadow with toned down everything else is kinda my thing (and I tend to do it all the time if I’m comfortable with where I’m working), but if it was either a first day at work or a job interview, I’d probably go with: light layer of heavy mineral foundation (Meow’s Flawless Feline in Inquisitive Persian) with some glow powder mixed in (probably either Meow’s Crystalline Cat in Morganite or Canary Diamond), a touch of undereye concealer (Meow’s Undereye Concealer), UDPP in Eden, Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, Fyrinnae’s Koala e/s (a rose-taupe and probably my favourite neutral ever) all over the lid, a bronze-y brown (either Aromaleigh’s Aurelie or Meow’s S.E.T.I.) in the crease and outer v, Shiro Cosmetics’s Master Sword for blending, brow bone and inner v (a sheer shimmery champagne-y brown), with a good layer of mascara. If I bother with blush (not often), it’ll probably be something like Meow’s Starry Night (a sheer bubblegum pink, looks like a ever-so-slightly brighter shade of my natural blush). For lips, I’d probably just use Fyrinnae’s Lip Lustre in Pink Guitar (almost a lip stain that’s a MLBB shade with a touch of extra shimmer) or Maybelline’s Color Sensational lipstick in Pink Quartz (another MLBB).

… that looks like a lot now that I list it out. O_o

Neutral eye, using very similar colours to yours, Shroom or Brue as a wash and maybe Coquette or ARIA in the crease then MAC Fluidline in BlackTrack as a liner. I use a soft Pink Blush on the cheeks and nothing on the lips, maybe lip balm.

Face: moisturizer & MAC Select SPF 15
Eyes: MAC Rubenesque on lids & MAC Cork on crease
Cheeks: Adorned with Grace Minerals in Breathtaking
Lips: MAC See Sheer mixed w/ MAC Hug Me

face: MAC concealer
eyes: MAC all that glitters on the lid, satin taupe in the crease, gel liner that flicks out and white shadow in the inner corner
lips: chapstick!

My work-safe look contains YSL Touche Eclat, MAC Studio Fix Powder, some Well Dressed blush, Painterly Paint Pot, a neutral color on the lid like Shroom, Jest, Phloof! or Seedy Pearl, a little Slate line and black mascara (all MAC). On the lips I go with some YSL Rouge Volupte in Nr. 2 or 3.

a YSL’s five shadow palette in golden and bronze colours for my eyes. Golden and bronze eyeshadow, black eyeliner and black mascara. Subtle filled in eyebrows and some concealer.

Face: revlon colorstay foundation, mac msf natural, benefit hoola to contour, mac blushbaby, mac by candlelight to hightlight.
Eyes: udpp, mac all that glitters on lid, soft brown in crease, yogurt to highlight, maybe satin taupe or sable in outer corner. Ud 24/7 liner in bourbon on outer upper lashline, lots of black mascara.
Lips: ud naked lipstick or mac angel with ample pink plushglass on top.

NC35 Currently loving UDPP Eden or Soft Ocher base lid to brow. Arena on lid & tear duct, saddle in crease, satin taupe smudged on lower lashline, orb to highlight, darkened brows & lots of black mascara.

For whatever reason I find that pinks and purples tend to look pretty neutral and safe on me, or maybe I’m just so used to those colors because I lived in Asia for so long and of course it’s all about the pinks there! So I’ll do champagne/gold/bronze on my eyes or some pinks with a slight purple high light, any kind of blush blended in really well, and then lip gloss because it’s really hard to go too intense with lip gloss (but I haven’t tried Illamasqua yet.)

My work-safe look is pretty much my daily neutral smokey eye and light cheeks.

– Lancome e/s in Floralesque all over lid
– MAC mulch or Cargo light taupe in crease, outer corner, and lower lash line
– MAC e/s in Femme-fi on brow bone
– Lancome kohl in black ebony or mac fluidline on top lashline

Cheeks (optional)
– Rock and Republic blush in Tease
– Stila Bronzing Powder 01 (contour)

Ooh I so want R&R Tease! I’m so mad they’re discontinuing the blushes! I heard Tease is lovely and the swatches make me want to cry, you’re so lucky to have it!

MAC all that glitters on the inner lid, woodwinked e/s on the middle of the lid, espresso e/s on the outer corner and crease. shroom e/s to highlight brow bone and tearduct.
foundation, set powder, blush.
on lips, I like Chanel liquid lipstick in Santal.
I’ll only wear this look if im not feeling creative or I am late tho! I go to high school still, so no worries.

I go with satin taupe all over with smut in the crease and outer corner or honey lust all over and soft brown through the crease and outer corner with bobbi brown gel liner in sepia and black mascara. Always Nars torrid on cheeks and whatever pinky nude lipgloss is to hand..

My fail save look for work:

DiorSkin Nude foundation
A bit of concealer where I need it.
Clinique blended face powder to set.

On the browbone: MAC Next to Nothing (Tempting Quad)
On the lid: a slightly darker shade to contour my lid
Brown pencil liner

On the cheeks: MAC Peachykeen powder blush or Benefit Coralista
On the lips: a rosy lipstick or natural lipgloss

Eyes: UD Naked on the lid, UD Bare on the crease (if this is too boring, I add a little Sin in the center of the lid), lightly lined black or brown eyes, mascara;
Cheeks: Soft pinky/peach like LORAC Peach blush
Lips: Coraly pink like Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranite

For a wake up eyes look I just line my eyes with blue eyeliner, it really makes the whites pop.
