We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Matte. The dewy look does not look good on me.
Mate (but not flat). I have nothing against dewy or luminous foundations, but that type of finish is just not for me. Even if my skin became drier due to age and geography, a mate finish still looks more flattering on me.
Skin-like! I found out that adding some MAC Strobe Cream to their Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation nullifies oxidation and doesn’t interfere with its longevity on my face, nor changes the original depth, tone or anything. It DOES make that and my Fenty Profilt’r Hydrating Foundation look less matte and more like actual skin, yet still covers up red or uneven areas on my face.
As to why I choose waterproof or long-wearing foundations; I live in the Desert Southwest and rely heavily on public transit, so I need for my foundation not to melt away or worse…drip down!
I like natural finish. I used to love matte, but my skin is drier now.
I tend to prefer a matte finish for my foundation because the dewy ends up looking greasy on me – especially as Melbourne Aus, where I live, is so humid.
I prefer a natural or slightly luminous finish. My skin is still oily, but aging and medications have made it dehydrated in spots. I can’t do the matte foundations I used to favor, as they now settle into lines and make my skin look dull.
A liquid-thin paint type that doesn’t fill-in my pores : PML Skin Fetish Sublime perfection and Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh (discontinued) best fit the bill.
Why? Because they are ultra light, great even during summer months, doesn’t move, are buildable enough for my needs (as a more mature woman), and aren’t drying. They may look like and go on like a paint, but they are just hydrating enough to work.
