I used to use clindamycin, too, and Retin-A. It did miracles in clearing up my acne!

Currently I use Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, belif Bergamot Herbal Extract toner, Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum, and Garnier Moisture Rescue for normal/combo skin.

Every once in a while I like to bring things back to basic and leave it at that while my skin readjusts to itself, like getting reacquainted. During this time, which is now for me, I’m only washing with La Mer’s foaming cleanser & using DE eye cream. Very basic.

Cracking my knuckles, doing a little shoulder shimmy cuz I love me a skincare post! I cleanse with the Hada Labo Hydrating Cleanser, then use my Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum (vitamin C serum 15% L-Ascorbic Acid + Pumpkin ferments + Marula Oil… delicious). After letting that soak in for about 10 minutes, I hydrate with my Mizon Hyaluronic Acid 100 Serum (got HA and ceramides), and end the routine with my Atopita Moisture UV Cream SPF 50 PA++++, a really nice physical UV filters only, alcohol-free Japanese sunscreen.

I hope it agrees with you! It’s really really nice, but a bit pricey. I’ve tried a bunch and liked it the best so far out of the Ole Henriksen, Nuface, and Murad ones.. but I’m trying to find something cheaper. Looking at the Kiehl’s one next!

*Cetaphil Daily Cleanser – very gentle, cleans without stripping
*FAB Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer – super lightweight, soothes skin, dot onto dry areas
* For summer, Supergoop City Serum Sunscreen SPF 30 and Paula’s Choice Shine-Free Hydralight Sunscreen SPF 30 (on T zone)

Yelizaveta Kotova Avatar

It’s summer, so I keep it simple. 1. Cleanse with Lush Aqua Marina. 2. Refresh with Trader Joe’s Aloe Vera Gel. 3. John Master’s Mineral Sunscreen (SPF 30) or Tarte Tarteguard Sunscreen (SPF 30)

Yelizaveta Kotova Avatar

I recently rediscovered it after not using it for years, and I don’t know how I’ve lived without Aqua Marina! Great cleanser for all skin types!

First I cleanse with Aveeno Ultra Calming cleanser, then pat in a bit of Fresh Black Tea Age Delay Eye Treatment into the undereye and lid areas, protect and moisturize with First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer spf 40. Really simple compared to my nightly ritual!

Wash with NuSkin 180° Face Wash, followed by Kueshi Revitalizing Toner. Next, if needed, I treat acne spots with Murad Acne Spot Fast Fix. Then I use Eslor Firming Collagen Day Cream, followed by NuSkin Restore Day Protective Lotion SPF 15. Around my eyes, I recently started using Olay Total Effects Eye 7-In-One Transforming Cream. So far, I’m very happy with the results.

I shower every morning so start with exfoliating cleanser in the shower. I use Korres Wild Rose Daily Brightening & Refining Buff Cleanser. I exfoliate every day – I’ve heard that you’re “not supposed to” but I find that my skin looks better if I do and the Korres is really gentle. Then I follow with Boots No. 7 Intense Advanced Serum and Trish McEvoy Retinol Eye Cream. If I am not wearing makeup then I use Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. I only use a tiny bit of moisturizer, less than pea-sized, and I warm it in my hands and pat on. If I am wearing makeup I follow with Amazing Cosmetics Line Smoother and Primer and either Amazing Cosmetics Anti Aging Face Primer or Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster (if I need more moisture).

Fab eye roller outta the fridge before shower while I have coffee and check emails and and stuff. Cleanse with Nude oil cleanser, VI Intense hydrating serum, skinceuticals C & E Ferulic, Caudalie Premier cru Riche, and Amorepacific SPF 30. I have some other sunscreens leftover that I am trying to get through that depending on what I am doing , I will use in place of the AP.

Proactiv+ Bar or Facial Cleanser
Proactiv+ Toner or prescription strength topical treatment
Clean and Clear Persa Gel
Clinique Eye Gel
Glytone even-tone product

Laura_Lou Avatar

LOccitane cream cleanser, La Roche Posay Effaclar toner, Clinique Dramatically Different moisturising lotion, Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream.

Laura_Lou Avatar

Missed out that I use Clinique mild liquid soap or The Body Shop microdermabrasion face scrub to actually wash my face before cleansing etc

Anne Avatar

How do you find the La Roche-Posay toner? I’ve been using the Kiehl’s Calendula one but I think it irritates my skina bit.

Also how are you finding The Body Shop’s microdermabrasion face scrub? I really like all the stuff I’ve tried from the Vitamin C range so that bodes well, but I’ve noticed sometimes they use microbeads for exfoliants which puts me off.

Dove Men’s Face Wash (started using it after Dove Face wash was discontinued, it cleans without stripping) with Clarisonic. Then Philosophy Miracle Worker Face cream and khiels wrinkle reducer eye cream. This combo leaves my skin moisturized and helps soften my fine lines.

Laura R Avatar

1. cleanse with either Korres Greek Yogurt 3-in-1 Emulsion or FAB Ultra Repair Wash.
2. tone with Etude House Skin Mageum Smoother with a cotton pad followed by Etude House Moistfull Collagen Skin that I apply with my hands.
3. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado under my eyes.
4 Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster on face & neck
5. treat blemishes with Etude House AC Intense Liquid Spot.
6. moisturize with Etude House Moistfull Collagen Emulsion + the cream from the same line.
7. Missha Time Revolution sunscreen SPF 50+ PA+++ or Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish SPF 50+ PA+++

Diana Avatar

Sibu Sea Buckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser, Lancôme Energie de Vie Dullness Relief & Energy Recharge Daily Lotion, CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion, Advanced Suncare Silky Sheer BB Face Lotion 50+. My skin is too sensitive to use acne products during the day 🙁

Erin Avatar

A Derma E Cleanser (usually the soothing one), Fresh Black Tea Age Delay Instant Infusion, and Derma E Hydrating Serum or an Oil… The oil is usually Fresh Seaberry! I’ll put on a sunscreen if I know I’ll have more then 15 – 30 minutes of interrupted sun. I’m vitamin D deficient so I only use it if I know I’ll be in danger of actual damage.

sophia Avatar

I have the lotion version and my understanding is that it is the least sensitizing version because it doesn’t have any bad alcohols. It’s also quite moisturizing on its own =)

Lulle Avatar

I cleanse with a micellar water, currently Vichy. Then i apply a vitamin C (Radha Beauty) serum all over my face, neck and decollete, and follow with a moisturizer containing mineral sunscreen (Paula’s Choice but I don’t like it). I also use a lightweight gel under the eyes (Regenfx) and a lip balm (Nivea tin).

Lee Avatar

Cetaphil wash, 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (from acne.org), Elta MD Clear 46 sunscreen.

I tried clindamycin and it gave me cystic acne. Now for my acne,, I use differin at night. Works really well for acne and has the additional benefit of making my skin look fresher.

Christine Avatar

Clindamycin is what cleared my cystic acne, lol! Differin helped with all the little bumps, but I still got painful cystic acne around my chin and jaw, so that’s why I got prescribed the foam – since then, one a month or less! Glad Differin is helping 🙂

Sam P Avatar

Oskia Renaissance cleansing gel (love that stuff), La Roche Posay Pigmentclar serum, Redermic eye, either Vichy Idealia or Nutrilogie 2 moisturiser depending on how dry my skin is feeling and Soap & Glory youthshield spf lotion. Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm.
Oh yeah, and colgate max whitening for the teeths

Anne Avatar

How are you finding the La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar serum? I use their Hydraphase one at the moment but mine is running low and I always have wandering eyes when it comes to serums…

Christy Avatar

I do the following:
1. Cleanse: Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover cleanser
2. Moisturizing toner/lotion: Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Lotion
3. Emulsion: Hada Labo Shirojyun Albutin Milk
4. Sunscreen: Hada-Labo UV Creamy Gel SPF 50/PA ++++
5. Serum: Paula’s Choice Resist Serum
6. Moisturizer: Mad Hippie
7. Primer: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

Deborah Austin Avatar

I wash my face every morning with some sort of Neutrogena cleanser. Growing up, I washed my face with soap : ) I must have good genes.

Finally settled into the right summer morning skincare routine. One of the things that sucks about moving from one climate to another (even if it’s a minor shift from Vancouver BC to Portland OR) is my skin decides to throw a hissy fit when it encounters new types of summer. Skincare routine that’s finally settling my skin down:

1) Lush’s Aqua Marina calamine-based cleanser
2) La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum
3) Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
4) The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturizer (this one is amazing for when it’s hot out as it’s a super lightweight gel-like moisturizer and has a zingy citrus smell to wake you up)
5) La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Fluid SPF 60 for face (if you are not using a sunscreen seriously you need to start skin cancer is not a joke)

Justine Avatar

I cleanse with Clinique extra mild liquid facial soap, tone with Clinique mild clarifying lotion (their only one without alcohol), add Boots expert sensitive hydrating serum, then Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer spf 47 and Cerave eye repair cream. It’s a lot for morning but I have very dry skin and this seems to help keep the flaky skin hydrated for most of the day.

Beth Lincoln Avatar

All my skincare products are from Paulas Choice, her Resist line. I cleanse, tone, use the 5% AHA to exfoliate, mix the antioxidant serum with her vitamin C, and finish with the moisturizer with sunscreen. I do this every single day and have gotten fantastic results. I love her products and my skin.

Kecia S. Avatar

I’ve tried so many different skincare products over the years, but I’ve finally found a combination that I love & that truly works for me.
1. Aveeno Brightening Cleanser or Nude Perfect Cleansing Oil (with my Clarisonic)
2. Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate (LOVE this stuff!!!!!)
3. Giorgio Armani Crema Nera Extrema Youth Memory Eye Serum
4. Nude ProGenius Omega Treatment Milk
5. Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm
6. Nude ProGenius Omega Treatmet Rescue Oil (when my skin needs an extra boost of moisture)
7. Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturize SPF 30

Maggie Avatar

Tandazap (if needed)
Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Gel (or Paula’s Choice 8% AHA Gel, I like to rotate)
if cystic acne or beginning signs of a spot: Peter Thomas Roth Acne Spot Treatment
if an already formed pimple: Clinique Acne Solutions Emergency Gel-Lotion
for fading acne: Paula’s Choice Resist BHA 9
Cerave Moisturizing Lotion (if needed)
Topix Replenix CF Serum (if needed)
Citrix SPF 40 Sunscreen

I do all my skincare at night, I don’t tend to get oily so I don’t feel the need to wash twice a day, and if I apply any treatments or anything in the morning my skin gets really red and inflamed. Everyone always told me “you HAVE to wash twice a day,” but that was just too much for my skin and it was stripping it totally dry and irritating it so much. I know it’s not what you’re “supposed” to do, but it works for me! I find my makeup applies better over untreated skin, and it gives my skin a chance to rest and heal from the night routine.

Emm Avatar

1. Cleanse with Cetaphil (oily skin one).
2a, If using BB cream or other products with SPF – Simple Gel moisturizer
2b. If not using above then Sephora Mattifying moisturizer with spf 20
3. Lip moisturizer – either Fresh Sugar Untinted/Lemon or Rosebud Salve

My night routine is way more involved.

Allison Avatar

Alright, so, it’s probably not ideal for my face for now, but I wash my face in the shower with the same soap I use to clean the rest of my body – Dr Bronner’s liquid soap, unscented. After I dry off, Paula’s Choice um…not the 2% BHA liquid but the other one, “Clear regular strength anti-redness exfoliating solution with 2% salicylic acid.” (though soon I’m switching to the 2% BHA lotion applied at night.) Then I moisturize with PC Skin Balancing ultra-sheer daily defense, which is absolutely my hg. I had to try like six moisturizers, including three Paula’s Choice options, before I found one that worked for me.
