What is your current body skincare routine?
I don’t do too much, but I try to use a body cream–right now it’s Kiehl’s Creme de Corps–everywhere.

Other than keeping it clean each day using OGX Coconut & Coffee Exfoliating Body Wash over *most* of my body, I just use Sol de Janairo Brazilian Bum Bum Cream on my upper chest and arms. When the heat comes down upon us and I begin to wear my capri pants and bermuda shorts, then I switch over to sunscreen that is also moisturizing.
It probably sounds crazy but it works….before a shower, I’ll slather plain old Johnson and Johnson baby oil on my arms, leg, chest and torso to act as a barrier to the drying effects of the warm water. In the cold and dry weather of winter, it really does act as a “buffer” but when I get out of the shower, I’m not all slick and greasy and then I’ll apply one of several different body lotions or butters. When I need a “scrub”, I use Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub for Smooth Skin, generally applied on DRY skin and scrubbed around a bit before I get into the shower and then I’ll dampen my skin just slightly and work it in some more. It does a great job of getting off rough, dry skin very gently.
While not as extended as my skincare routine, I have a specific flow for my body as well.
My body care is all Paula’s Choice and fragrance free, I hate having my body smell of body care products.
It all starts in the shower with the Hair and Body Shampoo. I use the Body Cream in the warmer months and the Body Butter in the winter or when I have severally dry patches (sometimes it happens due to stress). Twice a week I use a body exfoliant, I alternate between AHA and BHA lotion (this keeps my keratosis pilaris under control). Twice a year I do a month of using the Retinol Body Treatment. During the day I use the body SPF before I leave home and have a mini sunscreen with me when I’m out.
Also, I consider partially deodorant as my body care. Deodorants used to give me irritation and dark skin, but I’ve switched to Native (initially because it’s plastic free packaging) and I can tell how the texture of my underarms improved. I also apply AHA/BHA regularly under arms and this helps a lot with sweat and odors.
I do have to have a body skincare routine as my skin is fairly dry due to my more mature age. What works for me is to use CeraVe’s Moisturising cream (in the tub) on my arms, legs and neck every second night after a shower, to lock in the moisture.
Cetaphill, Alpha Kerri, Dermeze, Dermal – all have excellent moisturising properties in their tubs, which are quite economical. I rotate my body creams because they are all a bit different in their composition. I get them when they are on sale too.
Weleda’s Body butter is another really good product (more expensive) and thicker – which generally I use on my hands and neck as well.
Really into L’occitane right now. Love their shower stuff, hand creams & body butter.
I use Lush’s Scrubee in the shower for hydration and exfoliation. I also like Nivea’s In Shower body lotion. Afterwards I use Lush Dream Cream body lotion and/or Eucerin Advanced Repair Cream.
Nothing fancy but it works! O’Keefs hand repair in the green tube (not the tub). It just works! Legs, hands, neck, arms and ears. I have zero idea what’s in this gem but it heals and soaks in and there’s zero fragrance. I picked up 4 tubes at my local Williams Lumber and put one in everyone’s Christmas stocking. It’s amazing. It. Just. Works!
