I’ve been uninspired as of late.
Stuck in a rut with the same everyday look.
Luckily I remembered to check Temptalia for Fashion Week photos and hopefully tomorrow when I wake up, I will be inspired to play with makeup.

Have you tried Bobbi Brown’s concealor? It’s my HG, and I know a lot of people love it too. You can pair it with her correctors for extra coverage as well (I don’t do that though).

Jenni Avatar

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll def add it to my lemming list. I’m trying out Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer right now. I like it, but not sure if it’s HG. I think the next on my list is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer!

I was too but found MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer in a shade darker than my natural foundation shade worked for me. I tried Smashbox concealer stick and GOSH eye concealer but MAC works best. And I don’t put any powder on that area afterwards.

i am stuck with the same routine I have no idea how to combine shadows even though i own a lot. Really weird huh? I mean how do you even go about finding what colors go with what??

johnfiend Avatar

Im gonna go with foundation! Face & Body is so far the best, but just a tad oily, yet Studio Fix Fluid looks dried out on my skin! nothing seems to be the perfect in between! and I’ve yet to try any other brands! Damn combination skin 🙁 Anyone have any recommendations?

Hi! So i just bought MAC Viva Glam I and I am having a hard time applying it. I considered buying MAC prep+prime for lips but it’s too pricey. Would anybody please suggest a dupe and would petroleum jelly work?

Kelly Avatar

I’m a diehard lipstick fan, and for me what works is the following: Prep lips with a lip balm (nothing too sloppy). Let sit for a few. Wipe it off. Then I fill in my lips with a liner that matches their color (I like Rimmel). I apply the lipstick, blot, and apply it again. Perfecto!

JessicaM Avatar

Hey thanks Kelly! I’m gonna try that. I gave petroleum jelly a shot and its fine but the taste, ick. I am starting my lipgloss and lipstick collection :)) My allowance end up with lip things.

Finding a great all-in-one concealer. One that’s creamy, provides high coverage and that melts into my skin.

And Acne, ofcourse. Since using Benzyl Peroxide ruined my skin so much, i’m now following a 6 weeks Dr. Hauschka therapy for acne-prone skin. The goal is to help my skin to refind its natural balance, to shrink zits and unclog pores. The normalizing oil is great so far, the flakes who were all over my skin are now bye-bye.

Trying to grow out my hair that was cut into a bob last summer and I can’t stop dying it to compensate for not being able to cut it. I know the at home kits are damaging, but I can’t stop.

Storage for me too. I have a serious make up buying addiction and I’m running out of space! :S

Also, no idea how to get rid of acne under my chin (both sides) and the blackheads around my nose and mouth.

Tiffany Avatar

storage containers from walmart are so much cheaper and do the same thing as that thing! get some that can stack on top of each other and you’ll save tons of money!

Vertical lip lines! I never really understood this problem when I was younger but now I have them and my darker lipsticks will bleed out into the lines which looks horrible. 🙁 I’ve tried lip liner and other things that make it a little better but it’s still a problem.

Not having enough cash-ola to buy all the bee-you-tee-ful makeup I want to buy and that I see on your fabulous blog!!! (What a problem to have, huh?)

Emily Avatar

foundation shades 🙁
they keep changing!
i wake up and my skin is slightly different or something…
its weird.

But you should get a whole room to store makeup in! lol!

Dry lips. Plus, i tend to bite mine when they’re even the SLIGHTEST bit uneven. So that doesn’t help.

Also, I’m dealing with my bathroom lighting-its uneven enough to be awkward applying makeup, due to a window on one side, but not the other. Plus, my counter is long enough that, in order to see my eyes clearly, I end up leaning so far over that its hard to have any precision applying or blending colors, because my weights on my arms.

Storage is definitely my biggest problem. Housing my sprawling collection in a way that is both accessible to me when I’m choosing my look for the day and yet safe from my dog, who has chewed up more of my makeup than I care to think about.

Yay! My question was featured! Thanks Christine! XD

My current beauty dilemma is finding a good concealer. I’m trying out Lancome Effacernes Concealer right now. It’s pretty good, but I think I bought one that’s a tad shade too light. 🙁 Might have to exchange it.

mkdallas Avatar

I have 2 dilemmas; the first one is my unwillingness to part with my older lipsticks & glosses. Many of them are barely used (if at all) and I keep thinking I’ll go back to them, but there they sit, taking up space in the drawer & not on my lips. The 2nd dilemma is one where I would welcome any help! After a recent eyebrow was, I ended up with an ingrown eyebrow hair for the 1st time in my life. I was able to spot the hair and removed it with tweezers. I must not have gotten all of it because now I have a painful bump that won’t leave. I’ve tried doing the hot compress thing and while that helps, it is still there. What do I do now??? Thanks in advance for your help.

My skin is dull! It’s so upsetting, I want a fresh glow! I have pretty good skin, a little dry, I exfoliate regularly and moisturize religiously, but it’s still dull looking.

I’d like to try some sort of brightening cream or serum, as well as some highlighter-type things, if anyone can recommend any! Any tips would be so greatly appreciated.

My lips have a reaction to MAC Lustre lipsticks, but I absolutely love them. I tested wearing a lip primer under the Lady Gaga lustre lipstick and my lips didn’t have a reaction the next day. Any other lip primers out there that create such a barrier?

BeckBeck Avatar

Acne. 🙁 I had to reschedule my dermatologist appointment (due to a job interview – for a job I got – so yay on THAT part) and literally since the day I called to cancel, my chin has been covered in red bumps and blotches, and the area around my nose is also red and bumpy and itchy. And this is with NO routine changes and continued use of Retin-A Micro. I’m counting the hours until my new appointment next week. I promise I will never anger the skin care gods again!

Debbie Avatar

omg beckbeck, i feel you on this one! i too had to push back a derm visit for a grad school interview, and man was my skin unhappy about that! no changes in routine or products used also, but major breakouts that i have not had in months :o( im seriously begging the skin care gods to have it clear up (or at least calm down!) before my next few interviews

My main problem is my skin, pimples and oily skin. It´s very difficult to weare make-up because all foundations , all creams tend to make my skin worst..

Cherie Avatar

Oh, I guess my more serious problem is finding a vanity table/designing an area in my house where I can store and put on my makeup.

Any suggestions??? Links to photos?? What do you do?

Catherine Avatar

Storage and time. I’m finding my growing blush collection is overflowing my tiny vanity drawer, and I’ve been so busy I’ve barely been able to only put on mascara, blush and brow powder in the morning so my eyeshadows have been feeling a bit neglected lately.

Emm Avatar

My ultimate beauty dilemma is that those whole process is too time consuming and I don’t want to get up earlier to put on make-up or straighten my hair. I usually walk out of the house with no makeup and put on eyeliner/mascara at work and that’s it. So only on weekends I can put on different eye shadows and looks.

Lynn Avatar

Mine is to organize all my stuff…so so so many…

the other beauty dilemma, I have an ugly zit that sprouted out of nowhere and decided to settle right where my eye crease is – my guess, it appeared because I had threading done on my eyebrows last week and that’s the most sensitive area for me:( What can i do to get rid of it?

My dry lips! no matter how much vaseline i wear or water i drink, always chapped nasty lips! If i exfoliate they will be okay for like an hour but after, or if i eat or drink anything…Chapped lips! Its such a curse because i have tons of MAC lippies that i cant wear because it will look like crap on chapped lips! nothing works! i even sleep with vaseline on my lips…it’s horrible!

Leea Avatar

I need to find a way to keep my daily make up in a place where I can quickly grab and apply it, instead of having to move things and dig through boxes for it 🙁 helppp.
