Crap… I’ve bought a lot of stuff I intended to buy when I had money (and I didn’t when I did), but I’ve gotta say the Makeup Revolution palette that looks similar to the o.g. NAKED palette. It’s only $7 ar ulta and is actually pretty decent.
MAC Mehr lipstick! It is the *perfect* MLBB shade for me, makes my lips look like I was born looking this way!

I ought to have been able to have figured that out considering that my adoptive Dad’s mother was 100% first generation German, and spoke English as her 1st language, but she and my Dad were also fluent in German. As I child, I spoke a little of it, but once I lived on my own I forgot almost all that I had learned.?

It seriously was a black-out buy. I don’t remember how or why I came across it, but it’s now in my possession. At least I like the powder, so that’s a plus.
Last month, I bought Jordana Matte Lipsticks in Matte Frappicino and Matte Bare on a whim. I wasn’t sure about Matte Frappicino, but I really like it. It’s a nice warm 90s brown color. Matte Bare is one of those pinky-brownish-nudes I like. I usually don’t buy makeup on a whim, but if I do, 9 times out of 10 it’s a drugstore lipstick.
Because you can’t go wrong with under $10. CVS can be dangerous if you have to wait for meds. I figure it’s the cost of a Starbucks trip!
Ha! Yes! I bought those while waiting at Walgreen’s for prescriptions. Like you said, you can’t go wrong for the money.

I rarely buy things on a COMPLETE whim, but I was at Nordstrom a week or two ago to pick up something I had preordered from Jo Malone and had a wander and picked up the Clinique Pop Glaze lipstick in 09 Licorice which I had wanted to grab but hadn’t seen in person yet. Swatched, liked, and bought along with a lip liner of the same name.
With a makeup collection like mine, almost every single purchase in the last 6 months, except perhaps concealer and brow pencil, is a complete whim. The last one was the too faced natural matte palette.
The Urban Decay Vice 4 palette, after the price was discounted everywhere.

At my local Ulta’s Urban Decy event on Saturday, Robert did such a nice job making up my eyes in a way I’d never think to do myself that I ended up buying the UD x Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette and brow box. I love the brow box — great taupes, not too light for me — and I was beating myself up a bit over the eyeshadow palette, but, it should actually work beautifully with my recently acquired Urban Spectrum palette, which I love 🙂
Fran, I followed your advice about using gel liner and a push liner brush in my upper lashline, and it worked GREAT! I used Tarte Clay Pot liner, as that’s really gentile on my eyes. I don’t why I didn’t think of using gel liner like that, but I’m glad you did. Thank you!!

Benefit’s Dandelion blush! Saw it in the travel sized section of Sephora. I’ve always wanted to try it and I was not disappointed!
It’s a toss up between the Stila Trust in Love palette (which I got for free using loyalty points, hence the “complete whim” factor) and Shu Uemura’s cleansing oil which I just grabbed when I saw it in those bins on the way to the cash at Sephora.
It’s not really makeup but Sally Hansen’s Mojito/Moheato nail polish! Great formula, as with all her other Complete Salon Manicure ones.
Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Illusion. I didn’t think, I saw I tutorial and I just had to have it. 🙂

I’ll admit beforehand that I did do about an hour (or 6) of research before buying it, but this year I made my first-ever Chanel purchase! I bought Sunkiss Ribbon after deciding I wanted a “palette” blush (you know, when you get sick of just finding ‘the perfect coral’ or ‘the perfect soft pink’, so you just want them all mashed together? that’s my life!) and it has NOT disappointed me in the slightest. It was actually supposed to be my ‘test-run’ with Chanel products but I loved it so much I almost-immediately bought the two Les Beiges Mariniere bronzer/blush powders from last year’s collection before they were gone. These products have taught me that even I succumb to the hilarious hysteria that sets in by hearing those three little words: “Exclusive – Limited Edition”. So, I guess you could say I kind of made 3 on-a-whim purchases recently. I’m also considering the Cle De Peau Luminizing Face Enhancer in Pastel but I don’t know if I want to mortgage my house to pay for it ^_^ I also have a couple good highlighters right now so I’m not sure if I should stray (MAC Lightscapade, Kevyn Celestial, Hourglass Incandescent)
Inglot eye shadow, #616 and #335. It was such a nice day in NYC and went to Macy’s(after going to Harmons and buying Berry Haute by Revlon and Vibrant Violet-Matte by Maybelline…which weren’t impulse buys). Since Macy’s had run out of #335(a nice, matte burnt orange), I went to the Inglot store on 48th or 49th St and was able to get the LAST one they had!
Probably the 5 MAC lipsticks I ordered from the MAC UK site! 2 from the Zac Posen collection and 3 from the Flamingo Park collection. I hadn’t really planned on buying the Zac Posen ones but since the Flamingo Park eye palette isn’t on the site for some reason, I bought those lipsticks instead!
No the 9 pan palette isn’t there neither are the blushes. They have just filled the gap with perminate ones. I was extremely disappointed as one of the blushes I planed to buy. I mentioned it on one of the instergram sites and they had no clue about the substitutions.
Urban Decay Solistice eyeshadow from the Moondust range. I knew from the review here it wasn’t the greatest performing product and the fall out IS kinda brutal……… but after I tried a swipe of it at my friend’s apartment I fell in love. I couldn’t find a convincing dupe in person so I guess I’ll have to invest in some hardcore primer.
I bought Bare Minerals serum concealer this past Saturday after the SA suggested it for highlight under the eyes. She said she loved it and all the girls at Sephora loved it ,esp. in winter. I have CDP stick which I love for hiding my circles. But,I was trying to find something to add to lighten up the are without creasing.
Bite Luminous Lip Creme in Pepper. Impulse buys are rare for me, and I’m glad I did because shortly afterwards that lipstick was discontinued!
It was a Sephora Rouge Shine in #16. It was my first and will be my last! LOL. Although I love the cool pink color and its comfortable feel on my lips, I absolutely abhor the plastic taste 😛
Hourglass Mineral Veil primer. I went in to get color matched, and the MUA recommended the primer and applied it with the foundation to my whole face. Fortunately they had travel sizes in stock, because that’s not a cheap primer!
Moonshot Cosmetics Jelly Pots in Cocoa Fondue and Mandheling. The bizarre gloopy, cooling texture may/not be a gimmick but it does blend out beautifully.
I’m going to give the Marc Jacobs Cover(t) stick colour corrector a go. Don’t have it yet, but just purchased it rather spontaneously.
The L’oreal true match Lumi cushion. I wanted to find a drug store brand foundation because I can’t keep shelling out money for my beloved Tarte Amazonian Clay. I stumbled upon it and it intrigued me. I must say, I love it! It feels like I’m wearing nothing at all.

The Natasha denona shadow palettes. I was angry the an item I have been waiting for had compleatly sold out (I had it in my cart and it wasn’t ment to be) that same night in the car to sheperds bush the notifications went live about the palettes being available on beautylish and that was it I had to have one. I paniced, I was happy, I had buyers remorse, people thought I was crazy. (But I do that sort of thing with makeup all the time,I don’t plan -when I do they sell out- I am a compleat emotional buyer) But it arrived, I loved it, I brought the other one. So I didn’t plan to buy them at all. I had chosen what 3 products I was buying this month and yet these palettes showed up at my door instead. I’m lucky I love them coz there was no way I paying to return them to the states.
I bought 4 of the discontinued NYX pearlized pigments that came in the little bottles. They were marked down to $1.49 each at Ulta and since Iike mixing my own custom colors, I figured I could always use them. One was a gold-sparkle orange, one was a reddish orange, one was lavender and one was a darker purple. I was there to pick up some stuff for my hair (which they didn’t have) and some of the NYX lip lingerie colors that they were sold out of (again).
I haven’t purchased Covergirl in years. But, I came across a good sale and I had some nice coupons, so I purchased them today. We’ll see how that goes.
One of the blushes from the last MAC collection. I totally regret it because I have so many blushes already i didn’t “need” another one. I think its going back.
A lot of my makeup purchases are well thought out. However, I did buy a few Kiko products on a whim. They all turned out to be great, though.

Shimmery lip glosses from VS; I was returning something and saw they had a 2 for 1 offer and thought, “Why not?” Got a compliment today when I was wearing one of the glosses.

After reading so many great reviews of Catrice products I was thrilled to see our local department store start carrying their line.
Yes, it was a grand splurge of about $7.
I love it! The shadows are all just pale, sheer, “barely there” shimmery/pearl highlight shades. Not chalky at at, lasts a good 5 hours without primer, no fallout.

hmmm… I believe it was the Urban Decay Vice 4 when it went on sale! I haven’t bought anything on a whim since last year, so that’s good. I did buy a few products, but I’m project panning and so I’m trying to use what I got and remember why I bought them in the first place. I’m also trying to save money, lol.

Yesterday I bought a NYX lip cream called Creme Brûlée. I have been trying to low buy so most purchases are considered. This was bought on a whim because it was so cheap. I also got 2 X lip liners and an eye crayon but I actually wanted these so would not consider them whims.
Armour Gloss’ Grace. Blast-off-level fuchsia (true fuchsia, not hot pink) with blue shimmer overtones. Have no idea how often I’ll wear it, but it just looked like too much fun, and it’s buildable. Can’t wait for it to get here! ?
Armour lip gloss is AWESOME. Full pigment, long wear, great shades, non-drying. And doesn’t look neon/ridic/too young against my pale skin, even for work. Makes base colors in other brands, that aren’t very nourishing, more wearable as well.
Also the Lipstick Queen Béte Noire trio when I finally found them,from a reliable seller, for less than $40 apiece! Also awesome. Will wear often! (Er, sort of whimsical, as in snatchified before the stock ran out.)
Mostly drugstore stuff on sale. I usually regret it.

2 Charlotte Tilbury cream eyeshadows and 2 Viseart matte palettes… the warm neutrals and the cool matte neutrals. Was kinda disappointed with the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadows but loved the Viseart palettes… I can see why people rave about them now
Mattel liquid lipsticks from Notoriously Morbid.
The last thing I bought on a whim about 2 weeks ago was from HSN, they had 3 Lancome nudie lipsticks for $30 along with free shipping I had to jump on it!! The colors are fantastic 1 is a nudie pink, 1 is a nudie beige and the other is a nudie nude, they have great staying power and are pigmented but not too pigmented – I LOVE THEM!!!
Other than that I get sucked in at Ulta with 2x’s, 3x’s or 5x’s the points – I don’t NEED anything and most likely don’t WANT anything but for the points what the heck!!
I bought two new lippies from La Splash Cosmetics in Catrina and OG Ghoulish and they are glorious! I hope they stand up to all the hype because the shipping was ridiculous!
