Ahh and I forgot: Butter London nail polishes, Chanel Nouvelle Vague polish, MAC Mattenes and UD 24/7 liners. I make sure to check Temptalia if the item I want to buy has been reviewed yet. Thanks Christine for saving me from purchases that I could potentially regret! We definitely appreciate all your hard work and dedication in giving us beauty addicts sneak peaks and reviews of product launches.

Chanel Dragon, Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill shadows and MAC Jealousy Wakes are the first that come to mind.

More importantly, it’s saved me money by steering me away from under-performing products that I normally would have bought just because they were new or limited edition.

Thanks for all your great work Christine! : )

Armani Eyes to Kill! Lust Red is my favorite and I probably wouldn’t have known about them if you hadn’t reviewed them, Christine! also, Jealousy Wakes, Deborah Lippmann’s Lady Sings the Blues, and a lot of Zoya colors I own. πŸ™‚

OMG Christine, are you kidding ? Do you have 10 years to spare so I can get started on what I’ve purchased because of this blog ? LOL !

jack black lipbalm, giorgio armani eyes to kill intense, Chanel cleaning mousse with exfoliating beads(forgot the name), TheBalm eyeshadows… ANYTHING A+ πŸ™‚ !!

Nearly everything. Rouge Allure, Rouge G, Illusion d’Ombre, Burberry cosmetics. I research all prospective purchases on Temptalia and Makeupalley, but mostly on Temptalia. I’m quite dark, and if I see from your reviews that a product lacks pigmentation, I know to avoid it.

Thanks for your awesome site, Christine!

I forgot to add: A Clarisonic Mia, and Shu Uemura’s Dance in Glitter lashes!!

Will you be doing a look with those lashes? I’ve something planned with them for New Year’s Eve, but I’d love to see what you do with them! I was thinking of a bright silver-and-black eye, polished skin and nude lips, with big waves and my little black dress.

Thanks to your post about their Thanksgiving sale, I also crossed those lashes off my “Too Die For” list and gave in and bought them! I’m super ridiculously excited but also pondering the right look to pair with these! ;). I like your vision, Frances!

Let’s see…

From Urban Decay:
-Naked palette (I probably would have bought it anyways once I saw it in person, but seeing it here made me order it online as soon as it came out)
-5th anniversary eyeliner set
-5th anniversary eyeshadow palette
-Super saturated high gloss lip colour in F-bomb

MUFE Aqua Liner in 10 (red), and while I was going to eventually buy an Aqua Cream, this blog definitely sped up that purchase.

From MAC:
-226 brush
-Nail lacquer in Spirit of Truth (that navy blue that came out with Wonder Woman)
… actually, all of my MAC purchases have been prompted by this blog because I didn’t really start to shop there until after I started reading Temptalia

And if I can find it, I’m totally buying that green nail polish (not the glitter one) from China Glaze’s holiday collection.

Let’s see…… TheBalm eyeshadows, the 88 color palette from Coastal Scents… And now I can pretty much blame you for any Urban Decay item I buy because I always read your reviews πŸ™‚

I heard about theBalm nude ‘tude palette from your blog, and bought it after seeing the black Friday deal listed (on your blog too!) everything else, i always check your site for opinions before I buy. Thanks!!

Me, too! They had Shady Lady Vol. 1 and I got that and Nude ‘Tude for maybe $10 more than Nude ‘Tude alone! I was adoring you on Friday, Christine.

OMG, are you kidding?! I’d have to go back over two years to consider. When a new collection comes out and you review it, I create a document with the things I want from that collection. Then I set an alarm in my computer’s email client to remind me the night before it becomes available (especially if it’s a highly coveted item).

Just for fun, I’ll go back and try to figure it out. πŸ™‚

Let’s see here: Hourglass’ siren lipgloss, Illamasqua’s bacterium nail varnish, MAC candy yum yum lipstick, TheBalm’s Mary-Lou Manizer, OCC lip tars, Chanel’s beige lame eye shadow and the triomphal lip gloss, Urban Decay’s BOS NYC, Korres silicone-free primer, Sugarpill in lumi, goldilux, and royal sugar, NARS desperado nail varnish, and others I can’t think of lol! You’re awful hard on my wallet, Christine πŸ™‚

Korres natural blush! I had only ever used the lip butters and never taken a glance at their face products. It’s one of my favorite blushes now though :)I also always check here first before buying from new MAC collections.

One of the things I love about this blog is that you will still review (and other purchase!) things that have been proven to not work for you (eg MAC MES), because you recognise that they often still work for some- and to help others to keep saving their money for better products, haha!. So thanks heaps for being so dedicated so as to keep persevering with “dud” products!

For me, this blog has prompted me to buy tons! The latest was part of the MAC Christmas collections, and coming up is some very expensive (especially for us Aussies!) Guerlain foundation and powder. Which I will be putting under lock and key so my sis can’t steal it like all my other makeup, haha!

Just to name a few: Dior amber diamonds (favorite!!!) BE ready duos, various nail polishes, several MAC collections, Tarina Tarentino Palletes and Chanel Coco shines. Thanks a lot πŸ˜› Though you have helped me spend a lot you have definitely saved me from making quite a few inferior purchases!

oh, the list is loong but most notably are Dior Skin Shimmers, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Nectar, Chanel Rouge Allure Byzantine, Chanel Prelude, Armani Eyes to Kill, Chanel Rouge Coco, Guerlain Rouge G. Phew! and I’m sure this list is not exhaustive.

Too many things…Chanel RAL Dragon before it gets discontinued, MAC Jealousy Wakes so so, but I am fussy anyway.., MAC 226 got 3 of them in Aug. 2011, the BALM Shady Lady I and II, UD’s- Naked Palette, 15th anniversary pencils and the palette, AIW palette, Vol 3 and 4 BOS, Guerlain Rouge G Gigolo, Dolce N Gabanna- Rose the One Shimmer powder, Sugar Pill Collection.

But more items I would not buy than buy. At least, I know when something hits the market I can go test it out and see for myself. Got some intro also from readers such as Fyrinnae.

The best part is I get way way advanced notice as to when something I want hits the market and I avoid the mad rush.

Fyrinnae is from the Tacoma,Washington. It took me about 6 weeks to finally order something during this summer…because when I was ready to order, the site was either turned off completely or not active. The best time I found it to be active was between 11am-4pm PST during the weekdays. Finally I ordered my about 11pm PST, then it turned off again soon after I order. So you have to plan ahead to order, make a list and do it fast. Sometimes it would not have the pixie potion which I was eyeing for when the shadows were there or vice versa. Here is their blog link if it is ok for you to post. http://fyrinnae.blogspot.com/ I am just one of your readers who read this blog as a way of relaxation in my stressful life.

This blog has prompted me to look into and buy more Dior items (especially all the available Skin Shimmer Stars!), LE MAC items (btw, I love the comparison of re-released LE items to the older releases for pigment/color/texture differences — PLEASE keep doing that when available!), UD eyeshadow sets (Naked, 15th Anniversary set), Zoya nail polishes, China Glaze nail polishes, Korres stuff, Benefit stuff, and to some extent NARS stuff (bought the Sheer Glow foundation). I definitely wanted to purchase some Burberry shadows and Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill shadows. I’ll look into Hourglass later on, too.

I love this blog! <3

I absolutely love this blog, it’s been part of my daily reading since 2008. It has definitely prompted me to purchase countless products, especially ones that I may not have thought about purchasing had I not seen a good review on them. One of those products (which I’m now completely obsessed with) are Jack Black lip balms, I’m a complete convert, Thanks Christine!!! What’s more important than the purchasing of products is the fact that this blog has helped me to save money by not purchasing mediocre or under performing products! Thanks again Christine!!!

So many things! Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams, NARS lipsticks (I love a good, dry, matte lipstick), the Naked palette, goodness . . . . so many things!

Jack Black lipbalm (I bought 3 within a month!), Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Succubus and Inglot eyeshadow. Oh, and I’m eyeing several Bobbi Brown lippies πŸ˜‰

The Naked palette and OCC lip tars!! I haven’t bought everything that you rate an A+, but they are most definitely on my wishlist now!! I really love how you quantify your reviews by giving a scoring system and giving numbers or percentages on how much you’ll save or get on a product compared to other brands, it makes buying the item so much more justifiable!!!

I always check here first to see what u rated a product & your favorite products are. Some of the items I purchased are Benefit sugarbomb, coralista, watts up, skinny jeans, busy signal. MAC ricepaper, goldmine, nylon, lucky green, soft brown, bronze, dalliance, jealousy wakes, lychee luxe, stereo rose & brushes. Thebalm Mary loumanizer, betty loumanizer, muppet palette. UD 15 anniversary eyeshadow palette, 15 anniversary naked eyeliner set, clash set, lit 24/7. Chanel dragon, topkapi eyeshadow quad, espionage blush. Geez! The list can go on & on but I’ll stop. There’s way too much!

Seriously, I dont make ANY online makeup purchase without checking this blog first, especially the mac releases!
Ive bought with confidence several MAC brushes, Guerlain lipsticks, Illamasqua Lipgloss (my new LOVE!) Armani Eyes to kill intense, TheBalm eyeshadows and bronzers/blush ect and various other primers, eyeshadows, powders and polishes!
I always look for swatches here and on Karla Sugar but the one thing that makes your blog better than just a place to see swatches is your EXPERT opinion. I totally trust the opinions of EmilyNoel on youtube, Dusty O Hunter, TiffanyD, Xsparkage and Christine @ Temptalia

I think the first thing I bought was China Glaze polishes from the Vintage Vixens collection. After that, I was on this site shifting through swatches for ages (the swatch gallery has since answered this need) putting together my ideal MAC 15 pan. I love that this site has things as true to color as you can get with thorough reviews and I feel a ton smarter going in to a counter and having knowledge of the item I’m buying.

Jack Black Lip Balm! It’s truly been a lip saver for me.

I do appreciate your effort to make thorough and fair reviews of all your products. That’s not to say I always agree with you, but you can only give an opinion based on your own experience. : )

the balm palettes and eyeshadows, wet n wild eyeshadows…lord, there’s really too many things. i am getting overwhelmed thinking about it! thank you for all your meticulous, serious, respectful, hard work!!

Well many things i been following your blog for almost a year and this my first tie writing a comment…. Mac collections usually what gets me to buy especially lipsticks and the balm nude tube eyeshadow palette
urbay decay palettes, zoya nail polish and also when you have the weekly sales coupon codes that prompts me to buy and save money for more stuff… i love your blog!

Inglot and thebalm Marylou Maninizer and some mac limited edition stuff! I need to buy more stuff from thebalm though. Kinda bored of MAC, actually though I am cutting way down on makeup purchases, so its probably just going to be a few thebalm eyeshadow palettes. On my list based on reviews on here is the new thebalm nude palette. I missed the sale but oh well. πŸ™

I am catching some cyber monday sales so its no big deal :))

Thanks for everything

Since I started to check up on temptalia daily, I’ve bought the Urban Decay Naked Palette, theBalm Shady Lady vol.2 Palette, theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, theBalm Betty-Lou Manizer, and a Benefit gift set including That Gal Primer, Bad Gal Lash, and Sugarbomb blush! I’m not much of a high-end makeup purchaser because I’m 15 and my makeup obsession is not supported, so I’m proud of my little high-end collection (:

Wow, I cant even begin to name everything myself!! Although admittedly, I just started reading since a little earlier than MAC’s Venomous Villains collection. Chanel RAL, Chantecaille, Zoya… but I really appreciate everything your blog provides! I saved a lot of trouble because I wanted “everything” from MACs Wonder Woman and another collection (forgot the name but it was the one with the Sakura blush)… and I ended up with only a few good items. I totally depend on your lip swatches too, thank you!!

Ohhhh where to begin? Chanel rouge allure gloss and lacques, the five Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense eyeshadows, NARS Rajasthan Duo, TheBalm Mary Lou Luminizer, TheBalm eyeshadows, Milani Liquif’eye eyeliner, Make Up For Ever Aqua Liners, Guerlain Rouge Automatique and so on…

And I am so tempted to buy the Hourglass eyeshadow duos next time I am in the US… all because of you!

The Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polishes – I now own an obscene number of them – and the Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadows. When I first saw them at the beauty counter I resolutely walked by, but then I saw them on your blog and had to try them myself – I now own 5…

The blog was MURDER on my wallet when I first got into makeup! Haha, it used to be “Oh, Christine rated this an A+? Gotta go buy it…” Nowadays though, it keeps me from spending on dud products and I really only have products that I actually like. I literally check for a Temptalia swatch or review on any beauty product before I buy! Some notable things that I have bought because of Temptalia: Illamasqua Baptiste, Dior Amber Diamond, Nars Montego Bay, Urban Decay Naked lipstick, MUFE aqua creams, the Naked palette, lots of MAC (Stereo Rose, Marine Life, etc), Chanel polishes, hmmm probably almost everything I have since I look at reviews before purchasing! Heh, it’s a good hurt. πŸ™‚

When i see product launches on her, i pore over every item. I write down the ones that look good and then when they are reviewed i will decide whether or not to buy them depending on what Christine thinks and the product grade – and other products i may not have included may get an A grade so i sneakily add those to my list! πŸ˜€

The Balm (two palettes) – the only items you and I disagree on the quality πŸ˜‰ Armani Eyes To Kill – from 3 to 8. I want the new ones so badly, waiting for your reviews! πŸ˜‰ Almost everything MAC. I used to be a Guerlain, Dior and Chanel girl only.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lacque Dragon – sadly it didn’t look as lovely on my NC15 skin as it does on you! πŸ™

A lot of nail polishes, Rouge G lipsticks from Guerlain, and in general, it helps me decide what to buy – or not – from new collections!

oh sorry for the second comment but I too bought Armani shadows from reading about here, although I only have two. The one thing I can think of that I regret getting was Jack Black lip balm, I personally detest it, I dont like the texture, feel, taste, etc.

I bought the Naked palette thanks partly to your review, but I ended up returning it because I realized I had a lot of dupes or near dupes. The quality was great and I might have kept it if there weren’t so many other things I’d like to have. I value your opinions and your thoroughness and will continue to get psyched when you love a product! That Korres natural blush is awfully tempting :).

Everything, except for indie products. I’m surprised there’s no mob of broke beauty junkies coming over you already. πŸ˜€ (Kidding, I love your blog too much to chase you with a pitchfork)

Quite a lot! I’m a MAC fan because of you! I bought the MoistureCover because you recommended it, I wanted to get a Prolongwear liquid foundation, but it hadn’t launched in Hong Kong then, so I got a Studio Fix instead. Does this count?
I recently asked a friend in the States to get me some benefit powder, cover girl lipstick too, mainly because of your fabulous reviews.
I bought a Revlon lipgloss after I saw your beautiful swatches. I’m running out of my fingers… πŸ˜€
I love your reviews.

OMG christine, your blog has made me buy loads (i.e rose quartz msf, im going to selfridges to buy the giorgio armani eyes to kill in shade 14, when i visit birmingham, uk in two weeks, because it really looks fantastic on you!), and saved me tons of money as well (the recent paint pots, the big bounce eyeshadows).

Your swatches make all the difference and your views. In the uk we cant buy an item and return it if we dont like it after opening and swatching, so i really rely on your swatches and your opinions. Thankyou so much for the hardwork, i really appreciate it xx

Chanel Prelude eyeshadow quad. I wanted a neutral (taupe) palette, but found most of the neutral palettes at the moment to be orangey. Then I saw you review and the swatches looked lovely. I live in Europe however, so mine has the little round eyeshadows, still beautiful though. Thanks Christine!

Also, I just really want to shout out blogs and youtube beauty gurus… I have learned so much about makeup and beauty from these outlets. I have learned to do things with cosmetics that I didnt think possible unless I was a makeup artist. Beauty blogs really are such a treasure.

Several MAC collections (quite cute, dare to wear, glitter and ice.. and more)

China glaze tinsel town
Mufe HR foundation
MAC brushes (242, 217,219 and the flat foundation brush) I was using sephora brushes before.

Giorgio armani eyes to kill is on my wish list stillcant decide on a color (that i dont already have)
Urban decay 15th anniversary palette

And plz excuse the typos i am using my cell phone to read the blog.

Oh my – there is SO much!!! There are brands I didn’t even know existed before reading this blog and which have become standbys now (TheBalm is one example; Hourglass is another). I’d never have bought half the MAC stuff I have, nor would I have tried the CoverGirl lipsticks but I read here how good they are. My purchase of UD’s BOSIII was motivated by this blog (not being able to get Nars Rajasthan, which I saw here, and then reading that Loaded from BOSIII was very close!) and most recently, Tarina Taratino’s Dreamy Palette. Up next is the Nars lipstick that was shown yesterday!

I never really thought about it before, but lots of stuff, actually! I read a lot of makeup blogs and tend to do tons of research before I get anything expensive, but generally you have the best swatches and pictures and your reviews are always super thorough (and honest) which is great.
I would say most of my NARS purchases were influenced by this blog since I never really considered getting into the brand before based on its exhorbitant cost in Australia. It’s definitely your fault I spent $72 on Dogon, lol!
Most recently, I’ve fallen hard for Illamasqua, and although I would never in the past have spent more than like, $6 on a nail polish, I decided to splash out on “Throb” based on your raves about their formula and I am VERY impressed!
Your blog has also deterred me from buying lots of stuff I might have done otherwise and not been happy with, like certain MAC LE products, which is not a bad thing, believe me!

Ohhh many lovely things from Guerlain meteorites and a Rouge G, Jack Black lip balm to the Urban Decay Naked Palette. There are many more beauty products that I have bought either based on Christine’s recommendation or after checking what Christine has to say about an item that I’m interested in. I have not been disappointed yet so thank you, Christine! πŸ™‚

Oooh…where do I begin? hehe! I’ve bought a lot of stuff, like UD Naked Palette, Chanel lipsticks, theBalm Shadowy Lady vol. 2, MAC limited edition cosmetics…basically those products this blog has given an A to A+ grades. Temptalia is essential to me when it comes to shopping for cosmetics and skincare because it helps me distinguish between the bad ones and the good ones. So, again, thanks Christine! πŸ™‚

I had never heard of Illamasqua before this blog, and now I have three of their lip glosses. Their pigmentation is amazing.

When I’m in the mood to buy makeup, I always page through the swatch gallery–that’s been an amazing help. While it’s easy to say this blog helps me SPEND money, I actually think in the long run I SAVE money because I’m able to check out a swatch first and really decide if something is worth buying.

Other products off the top of my head that I can think of, eyeshadows from the Surf! Baby collection, MAC Plushlash mascara, various Paint Pots, NARS Galapagos eyeshadow, NARS Angelika lip gloss. It’s SO helpful to see them on someone before buying, and your reviews are always honest and in-depth. You’ve been an amazing resource!

It’s quite a list, since your reviews are the best and I love your swatch pictures (even if Im paler!).
Due to your good reviews Ive purchased: most of the MAC Mega Metal shadows, both theBalm Shady Lady palettes and the Muppets palette (totally lucky on that one, but I love it!), UD 15th anniversary shadow and NAked palettes, UD 24/7 liners, NYC palette (the one you did a look with… cant remember the name), Wet’n’Wild Trios (just a few), MAC lipsticks, and most recently Bare Minerals Ready shadows in Escape and Truth. Im so loving Truth!

aw geez… off the top of my head.. and just within the last like.. 2 weeks..

Tarte Exposed
UD Perversion, but had to get it in a set
…..which led to buying both sets
Chanel Dragon
I could go on..

it helps because i know you’re actually REAL. <3

Absolutely-I have never been disappointed by anything you’ve even remotely recommended and have slowly over the years weaned my makeup reads to simply temptalia. i never think twice about anything you say.. gosh with perversion and chanel dragon.. you’re right on with that, it feels like i can conquer the world.

Guerlain lipsticks, Chanel many things (LOL), Guerlain Meteorites, MAC Blot Powder, Milk of magnesia for oily skin via comments on a post, many MAC lipsticks I can’t swatch in person, … I guess I could go on. I love temptalia to bits. πŸ™‚

OMG! Jack Black lip balm. I love it. I have the most sensitive lips ever and they stay healthy even when the balm is gone, something that has never happened before. Everyone with lip problems should try it. I use the original one.

I hardly ever forget it anymore, but I can definitely tell the difference when I do. I put it on right after I clean my skin, before the sunscreen.

I avoid applying to the cheek area because mine aren’t oily, so it gives me a tight feeling if I apply milk of magnesia to them.

Other than tightness if applied to a dry area, I haven’t had any side effects. It is also a cheap product you can find easily.

I highly recommend it for people with oily skin that want to keep the shine away for a longer period. πŸ™‚

-Urban Decay’s Naked Palette (I probably would have bought it anyways but your review DID play a role)
-Milani’s Liqi’eye eyeliner in black: I’m on a quest for the perfect black eye pencil and your compare/contrast was a HUGE help!

A product that sticks out in my mind was MAC Pink Cult blush. This blog definitely helps me edit down the products I need to have from new collections!

EVERYTHING! Most recently, Chanel Dragon. But I love the things you prompt me to buy, because I know they are of great quality. Like others have said, you have also steered me away from some lemons!

Just in the last week I’ve bought two MUFE Aqua Creams (16 and 13) and NARS Damage lipstick because of reviews here, and I’d say half of the cosmetic items on my Christmas wish list are Temptalia recommendations.

The better question is what has temptalia prompted me not to buy. Which is almost every mac collection this year (except surf baby amazing!) You did inspire my MUFE cream eyeshadows and Nars blush purchases

Let’s see…I’ve been following your blog since “Barbie Loves MAC” so there’s more than I can remember I’m sure, but off the top of my head: Chanel RAL in Ming, TheBalm Jealous Jordana e/s, the BE High Shine eyeshadows (the packaging actually works really well for me somehow!), Lancome Voile de Rose liptick, Wet & Wild Comfort Zone palette, OCC Lip Tars. And many many LE MAC items from various collections.

It’s been fun!

LOTS!!! I really love your blog and depend on your reviews for the products. I feel that you give an honest review of the product. Some of my favorites are Jack Black lip balm(LOVE), MAC lip products and my UD shadows/liners. I have bought and tried products I would never have thought of trying if it were not for your blog!

Wow, what hasn’t is prompted me to buy?? I love it. Christine you do such a wonderful job and helped me to step out of my box. I love Urban Decay and have recently tried both Tarina Tarantino Palettes Dreamy and Delightful. I have also picked up a couple of Givenchy lipsticks and love them as well. Oh I could go on and on…

I have always loved MAC, but after I found ur blog,I am more prepared for the launches so I pretty much buy it all.

A lot of products I would not have considered buying. I trust your opinion over anyone else’s. Like the new urban decay book of shadows, after reading your review I decided not to waste my money on it. Thank you for this blog:)

Nars everything for dark skin! I don’t recall how I ran across that post but I use it constantly. I wasn’t always a Nars fan but you’ve helped convert me. Now I can’t get enough! I also recently picked up the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser to see how I like it(I’m a skincare product junkie, too!).

I’ve been so anti-MAC in the past, but now I’m considering some of their products as well. My sister says I’m obsessed. I should blame you. πŸ˜‰

How amazing that the post helped you so much! πŸ™‚ MAC has some really great products — and their permanent range is definitely good overall. They can do an awesome product, but they can have some flops, too.

Listing the items that you’ve prompted me to buy would cause me to inventory my collections…and that might lead me to worry about the size of both. Let’s examine the quality of what I’ve purchased since finding your blog instead. Makeup is a large part of my budget, understandably. You’ve saved me so much time and money – not only in terms of product, but the gas that it took to get it and return it – that I can’t imagine making some of my purchases without you.

Okay, the UD 15th Anniversary Pallete: I woke up, got on my phone and brought your blog up, read your review and bought it. From reading your review to the purchase took about 10 minutes. You were right – it’s awesome!

I’m so happy to hear it, Kathy! It’s always been my goal to help others make more purchases they love and less that they are more lukewarm on (or even dislike) – so ultimately less returns and a stash you love more.

Thank you!

A lot! πŸ™‚ But on the top of my head, Butter London nail polishes, China Glaze polishes, UD Naked palette, Zoya nail polishes – see a trend? I’ve become a nail polish fiend and I’m loving it!

here are just a few of the items you inspired me to buy:

UD 15th anniversary palette
the balm frat boy
mac lightscapade
jack black lip balm

i always look up reviews online before i buy things, so there are other items i wanted to buy, then read your review first which confirmed that i wanted to buy the item.

you’ve also saved me from many, many bad purchases!

Jack Black lip balms, Zoya nail polish, UD 15th Anniversary pencil set, and various MAC stuff over the past 2 years. (I also have Rouge Gs and Eyes to Kill on my wish list lol) You’ve also saved me tons of money with your great reviews! Thank you Christine πŸ™‚

Your swatches and honest grading system allow me to make an informed decision about most makeup — blushes and lipsticks especially. But there are times when I see an item and automatically know that it’s for me or not for me. You are an invaluable resource, Christine. Your passion for describing the product and its plusses and minuses is a rare find, anywhere.

A lot of things, actually, but most notably Chanel Dragon and you convinced me to try Guerlain’s Rouge G lipsticks, you naughty thing! My bank account will never be the same.

LOL! I hope you find that Rouge Gs live up to the hype. Honestly, still my favorite lipstick overall – texture, opacity (as I do prefer more opaque myself), wear, feel, and color range!

They are absolutely worth it. I figured I’d try one and now I have more than half a dozen. And I can’t wait to get more. These and the Rouge d’Armani lipsticks are the best ever. Although my bank account might protest, I thank you for getting me addicted!

Chanel dragon, thebalm eyeshadows, uh everything, lol. Work in a busy ER and we girls get together and ask if anyone saw your review for the day. We love you.

Several MAC products. Also, Chanel Dragon. I saw it available at a Chanel counter this Friday and I practically pounced on it, haha.

almost everything from the MAC Hello Kitty collection and on… I say thank you, my bank account doesn’t lol… great reviews and swatches helps me determine what to buy and what not to buy.

Way too many things!!
Before I started reading your blog I could put all the make-up I owned in the Bare Essentials starters box. My make-up stash has extremely grown since then! Before I purchase anything I always check Temptalia to look at reviews and photos. So thank you for your hard work!!

Chanel products(several ones), Rouge Dior Versailles, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, several Mac products…to be honest, these days, I only buy products that have been reviewed by you Christine…I just don’t want to risk wasting my money when your reviews are so amazing!

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque (in Santal, not in Dragon – I can’t carry reds off) and Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani which have become my favourite lipsticks!

MAC Jealousy Wakes, of course, and many nail polishes. Mostly, this blog has saved me from making bad purchases (hi there, MAC Big Bounce shadows!), which I would have done if Temptalia did not exist. πŸ™‚

Thanks to Temptalia I’ve been enabled to buy many things – in particular the Urban Decay 50th Anniversary palette, and Deborah Lippmann’s ‘Glitter in the Air’ πŸ˜€

5 Armani Eyes to Kill, MAC Disney’s Venomous Villains collection, Illamasqua Hermetic lipgloss (the way it looked on you made me cave), nail polishes from Zoya, China Glaze, and MAC, MAC Surf the Ocean collection, Chanel Illusion d’Ombre, and a lot of other products that I can’t remember. I’ve made a promise to myself for the year 2012, I will no longer purchase anymore cosmetics. I really need to finish what I have before I buy again. It can be very addictive buying the latest limited editions and newer cosmetic releases after seeing beautiful swatches, but nonetheless, I love what I’ve purchased through the years from recommendations you’ve made on your blog. Your hardwork is always appreciated Christine as well your boyfriend who keeps your blog up and running πŸ™‚

The Dragon Lip Lacquer from Chanel. There are tons of things that you recommended I want to get as well, but I have to force myself to hold back so I can save up for a house. lol

omg. So much to share: UD eyeliners, the NAKED palette, the LE blogger’s obsession eyeshadows and lip glosses, MUFE Aqua liner, Party Alice from Bobbie Brown… the list goes on and on.

I notice how much more I pay attention to the quality and price value of each piece I get. πŸ™‚

Quite a lot, but the two things that stand out are Illamasqua Ore and Illamasqua Hermetic, coincidentally my two favorite products for this time of year! πŸ™‚

to many to list. Especially eyeshadow and berry lipsticks, which is so funny bc you said dark lips are so over! lol i prefer your pics to any other. Although since we have different skin types i do take any skincare, foundation, etc with a grain of salt and usually just skim over.

When you posted that dark and berry lips were over literally fell of my chair, they look so good on you! So much better than zombie lips aka nude. I leaned in so close to the computer i slipped right out of my chair at work!!! I was sure i was reading that wrong LOL

Generally renewed my love for Chanel. I switch make up around so much, that I had forgotten how much I love Chanel.

I am sure there is more, but would like to say thank you for all your hard work and dedication. You have the best make up blog out there!

UD 15th anniversary palette, theBalm mary loumanizer, cream eyeshadow (now that i know how to use them), MAC JEALOUSY WAKES, and jack black lip balm.

seriously, i bought a tube of lavender/vanilla to bring my sephora order over $50 for free shipping and i understand now why you’re obsessed! i’m going to ask for the gift set for christmas.

i always check temptalia first for reviews whenever i want to buy a product. i just always check the reviews first, with a lot of brands you never know if something will be awesome or terrible (MAC i’m looking at you).

I get so excited when people fall in love with products I LOVE LOVE LOVE – like Jack Black. Not just a “this is a great product” but something that’s become a staple!

So much stuff it’s pretty crazy..

I actually used your site when I made my first ever MAC purchase last summer.
And these are the only ones I can think of right now! Thank you so much for your great swatches and in depth reviews!

So many things! Your skintone is only a touch lighter than mine so I tend to think that if things work for you, they may for me. A guerlain lipstick, illamasqua nail polish in phallic, jealousy wakes, thebalm muppets palette, giorgio armani jaquard palettes, lippmann supermodel nail polish, the list can keep going forever – been a reader for years (since your LJ days…)

Thank you for being such a long-time reader, Liz! <3 It's really just something that says, "you're still doing it right" when someone is still interested to read after all these years!

Definitely theBalm! I don’t think i would have taken such a chance on them otherwise. now, I own shady lady 2 and 3, the muppets palette, the balm and the beautiful, some stainiacs — with meet matt and nude ‘tude on their way!

Urban Decay, too! I’m in love with their liners and shadows, but you’ve helped me avoid repeats, duds, fallout, and less-than-perfect packaging.

On top of that you are both bright and articulate; I appreciate the well-written nature of your reviews! Thanks, Christine!

Most recently Nars Damage Sheer Lipstick…I’m sure there are a couple other things. Mostly I see things and then search for reviews, or I see if things look nice from reviews and swatch in store. I tend to get a consensus from several blogs/reviews so I am not sure who to blame for most of my purchases.

illamasqua belladonna lipgloss and mac lucky green eyeshadow… and i love them!! these two are the first that come to my mind, but i never buy anything before checking out what you have to say about it! thank you so much!

The one I remember most clearly was skincare from Renee Rouleau – you posted an F&F code and mentioned a few things you would be stocking up on. No spot treatments EVER worked for me, so I took a chance on the Anti-Cyst Fluid and also one of her toners – and I really liked them both.

I also totally sent my mom links to posts of yours – I remember you swatched almost all of the UD 24/7 eyeliners, and I linked her to that photo when she was trying to pick a color. Your skintone is closer to hers than mine, so your swatches help me when making recommendations!

Ahahaha, you’ve started way too many lemmings for me to recall, Christine, but I’ll try.

Let’s see… the Chanel Rouge Lacque Allures to begin with… I bought one because of you. I also count on Temptalia reviews before I buy anything MAC. The entire bloggers collection… mmm, and the Clarisonic Mia!

Good lord, what hasn`t it prompted me to buy!!!

– Hunting for the Wet n Wild palettes
– items from more MAC collections than I would have even looked at (last two years of Holiday items
– hunted for but failed to find Hibiscus lipstick
– spring colour 2010
– Oh so Fair beauty powder
– my only NARS lipstick, Cruisin
– Shell pearl beauty powder
– so many MAC eyeshadows
– Estee Lauder Peach Nuance (cuz I couldn`t get Ripe Peach)
– Estee Lauder eyeshadow in Twilight Rose
– Revlon lipglosses (would never have tried them w/out your review!)
– Revlon’s new lipsticks (I bought 3 so far)

I’m sure there’s more specific items, but I’ll add that I do look for dupes for items and try more companies since I started reading here!!

Pretty much everything since I discovered your blog in December 2009. I previously started to write a post with everything but this computer does weird things when you accidentally hit the center button the the keypad and erased it, :-(. It has been A LOT though! And I’ve loved purchasing every bit of it! Thanks Christine!

OH wow! I’m grateful for your blog because I found sooooo many amazing products that I normally wouldn’t have tried til I saw them reviewed here. Thanks soo much Christine.
I have to say my faves that I bought are MAC 226 brush, NARS duo eyeshadows ( love them )they have replaced my MAC e/s. UD naked palette and most recently Chanel Dragon laquer! The most amazing red I’ve ever seen! Love u 4 that!!
MAC msf’s. Also, you’ve kept me from purchasing items that look lovely from afar but have horrible performance. Thanks!!!

My faves are Rajasthan, ( first one i bought btw ), nouveau monde, melusine, dogon, tzarine ( the grey shade is sooo pretty ). im now waiting for Taiga to come in! Thanks for your reviews on these amazing duos!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! πŸ™‚

Chanel Rouge allure lacque in Dragon. Wasn’t sure at first that i wanted to pay 47$ (CAD) for a lipstick but i ADORE it!

many things!!! but good things since i always check reviews before i purchase makeup espcially MAC. because im from New Zealand and all products come here late. this site is extremely useful christine!
espcially the reviews and swatches for MAC. its part of my daily routine when i get up-something i look forward to every morning πŸ™‚
x x

Jack Black Lipbalm. I have very full lips that NEVER seem to get enough moisture, and I always envied how healthy your lips looked in swatches. I recently bought a tube after reading on the site that it’s your go-to balm, and I have never been so impressed with a product. If lip-balm can be considered life-changing, then that’s what Jack Black is. I don’t think I would have discovered it otherwise!

I agree with you too. I’ve never found a good balm and when I saw Christine’s review, it prompted me to get one. I never regret getting it.

oh, i just bought a jack black lip balm a couple of weeks ago, and i dont know how i lived without it! my husband even likes to use it.

Do you know I don’t buy anything without checking your site first, Christine? I love your reviews!! Even if I’m at sephora or other department stores and I’m about to grab something new, I search on my phone to see if you have reviewed it first πŸ˜‰ Thank you for all you are doing, and yes I saved tons of money from not buying some products as well! I trust your opinion and you never let me down!

Chanel Dragon, MAC Jealousy Wakes, Chanel Mademoiselle…and it’s also prompted me to add some things to my wish list, like guerlain parure gold and rouge g, and the eyes to kill intense.

I nearly always check your blog for swatches now before I buy *anything*.

I don’t think I’ve bought a beauty product in the last several years without checking if you have a review for it! I always trust your reviews 100% and use them to guide my purchases.

So many things. Mainly different Chanel lip products but also Armani eyes to kill and UD Naked eye palette. I am tempted to buy the whole Guerlain Holiday collection because of how beautiful you look wearing that. But mainly the blue eyeshadow palette that is part of the holiday collection because I think it might compliment me as well and the highlighting pearls.

This blog has prompted me to dip my feet in to higher end cosmetics. Such as: Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense shadows (omg Lust Red!!), Chanel Illusion d’Ombre shadows, Guerlain’s Meteorites…. and some brands that are “inbetween” like Hourglass and Illamasqua.

All n’ all reading this blog has been a costly venture and I should probably stop doing it. :p

theBalm Nude ‘Tude palette (yay for Black Friday savings!). I had never heard of the brand until you did a review on the Muppets palette. Can’t wait to get it and try it out.

And Jack Black lip balm. I can’t thank you enough for that one! It has helped to heal my lips so that I feel comfortable wearing lipstick more often because my lips are in better shape than they’ve ever been before. Liberation from a lip balm sounds so silly, but that’s honestly what it’s done for me. Woohoo! πŸ™‚

And I agree with so many others that you have saved me from buying mediocre products, saving my time and money. Temptalia is my fave beauty blog. Don’t know what I’d do without your work. Thanks!

Mac eyeshadows!! grr.. I wish I could buy more! You should do a post on your absolute favourite products narrowed down.

Well, for starters, this morning it was three Eyes To Kill shadows (Lust Red, Purpura, and Pulp Fiction – green eyed girl here) that you made me want, along with a bottle of foundation so I could use the Armani code you posted. It took me a few hours to pull the trigger on that haul…come on, FSA refund check!

Jack Black lip balm, Korres Natural blush, Cover Girl and Maybelline lipsticks and I have a huge wishlist based on things you review. Plus, I never buy anything without looking it up here first! πŸ™‚

So many things! I found your blog before I got into makeup so almost everything I own either inspired by your blog or I see an item I like and check out your review on it!
I have gotten UD Naked palette (which I had never seen before I ordered it from America after seeing your review), all my MAC eyeshadows, blushes and lipsticks, BB Pot Rouge, Surf Baby bronzer both stick and powder form as you recommended both, the 239, 217, 219, 188 and 165 brushes and a whole list of other things! So I owe you a huge thank you in helping create a makeup collection and love and enjoy to use. Thanks Christine!

I have been reading your blog for a year now and this blog has prompted me to buy Jack Black Lip Balm and many Wet n Wild’s products. As far as lip balm goes, I never felt that me spending more than a $1 on it wouldn’t make any difference and they were all created equal. Then I read about how much you like Jack Black Lip Balm. I was skeptical about spending $8 on a lip balm but later I found it to be the best investment I have made. It actually keeps my lips hydrated and I have many backups. When I was younger, Wet n Wild made mediocre products and they were pretty much the worst you could buy in my opinion. Then I saw your reviews on the color icon eyeshadows and saw that you were impressed with the quality. I bought the palettes and so happy I did. I have most of their palettes and I have most of their silk finish lipsticks too. Thanks for helping me discover products I would have never any considered if I didn’t read your blog.

everything! i NEVER wore makeup (besides mascara) till i started reading this blog. i’ve since bought the black palette, the naked palette, a tiny stila palette, lipglosses…

I am kind of chicken when it comes to makeup purchases, because I really HATE to end up with a dud product. I never know what to do with it! I found your blog doing random searches for reviews, and I’ve found it to be the most comprehensive and formulaic, so it’s very reliable.

I’ve built (am building) my collection of MAC shadows on your recommendations and swatches, and they also help me to decide which LE shades I need. Also, there are some I missed, so I appreciate that you always suggest dupes. I love your previews of upcoming collections!

It’s gotten to the point where if you or one of the few other beauty bloggers I follow don’t review a product, I won’t purchase it.

Off the top of my head:

MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator
MAC Margin blush
MAC Nymphette lipglass
MAC Pro Longwear foundation (okay, I haven’t caved & bought it yet, but I tried a sample!)
LUSH face masks
And of course, Jack Black lip balms!

I never purchase any beauty product without checking your site for a review or swatch first, so thank you so much for all the work you put into Temptalia!

(I must add that I still have a ton of things on my wishlist β€” Naked palette, Chanel Dragon, Korres blush, to name a few. I actually had Origins Make a Difference Ultra-Rich Rejuvenating Cream on my wishlist ever since you reviewed it LAST YEAR. I was about to finally buy it this past Black Friday…but it was sold out on Sephora. -_____- lol)

mmmm. well you definately saved me money on the big bounces… didnt buy ONE and also a few quads that just swatched like crap but looked amazing in the pan…
I think you are particularly helpful to me as I buy all my makeup from the US and hate to go into one of the two mac counters where I’m from just to swatch and not purchase πŸ™
so thankyou christine.

TheBalm eyeshadow palettes and Chanel Dragon were two things that I never would have even heard of if I didn’t regularly read your blog, but I often just jump over here to check your swatches before I buy anything I’ve been eyeing!!

majority of what i own, i got the idea of it from here.. πŸ˜› if Christine says this product isn’t at least a B+, i wouldn’t get it EVEN if i really really liked the packaging or the color.. i even recommended this to my friends and they do the same..

we love your reviews and especially the pictures!! the products come late to our country so we drool over the pictures first.. LOL!

Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation and all the MAC limited edition collections! I’ve used it as a reference when getting several MAC eyeshadows.

Definitely Guerlain’s rouge G and their foundation. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for delivering so many great reviews xoxo

Almost any beauty/skincare product I run through Temptalia to check first. My absolute favorite is the Editor’s Choice, though! I pretty much just use that as a shopping list πŸ™‚ Can’t wait for the 2012 version!!

I only discovered your blog (and the online beauty community) in the beginning of September 2011, but it feels like ages already xDD Temptalia is definitely my #1 stop anytime I’m looking for reviews or swatches of a product I’m thinking about buying. Whenever product photos for collections are released I make my preliminary list, and your reviews always help me cut it down (or build it up LOL!). πŸ˜‰

Some things I can think of off the top of my head: UD Rollergirl, which then prompted my purchase of Naked, the 15th Anniversary palette, and both of the 24/7 eyeliner sets (in my defense, I had 3 liners before that, and not one of them was black)… the mattenes from Posh Paradise, which are actually the first things I ever bought from MAC, as well as paint pots… the Sultry Lip Kit from Ice Parade that helped me discover Deelight <3… there's definitely more but I can't think of them right now.

You've introduced me to products/brands I would have never tried before (theBalm, Urban Decay), shown me some brands that I now really want to try out (NARS blushes/lippies, Benefit, Chanel), and also stopped me from buying products that were already similar to colors I already own — me and my red lipsticks. πŸ˜›

Thanks for everything you do, Christine! It's definitely appreciated. ^_^

I have brought so many things based on your reviews and you never steer me wrong! I really value your opinion of products. Just a few I’ve purchased after reading your reviews 6 Armani eyes to kill eye shadows.226 brush by Mac. Two Guerlain rouge G lipsticks.Too many to name from MAC collections. Your reviews can make or break a product for me! So glad you take the time to check out the quality of beauty products for us! Love your blog!

Some Quite Cute items from MAC, one of the Blogger’s items from MAC, and the soap opera themed eye shadow palette from theBalm (you know the one; the one that’s the same as the Muppet palette). I’ve also been keeping an eye on OCC now.

Guerlain Blush G! I was so on the fence about it but your glowing (ha…no pun intended) review made me take the plunge. I’m so glad I did; it’s one of my favorite products I’ve ever purchased.

I also just bought Illamasqua Taint and Kink after seeing your swatches…among many other things over time :p

As a relatively newcomer to your blog, you have helped me scale back on some of my purchases, yet add items that I had originally decided to pass up. For example, I purchased only one MSF from the Posh Paradise collection. After reading your comprehensive reviews I’ve since purchased two more. I LOVE that I contact my local MAC store to pre-order and they are always miffed that I a) know about the soon to be released collection and b) that I’ve decided exactly what I want. I feel so confident in your reviews AND the MUAs usually agree.

Because of you Christine, I’ve also tried products that I otherwise would not have considered. I love what you do, and you do it VERY WELL!

I just bought $100+ worth of theBalm makeup during the sale, thanks (or no thanks) to you!

Haha, I love your blog so much! Keep it up!

I think I share at least one of your “weaknesses”: antique gold/bronze shadows and eyeliners so I make sure I don’t miss any of your reviews of these products. So I have ended up buying Benefit Skinny Jeans, Bobbi Brown Gold and Chrome Patina cream shadows, Chanel khaki dorΓ© and khaki platine eye liners, UD Stash…and I am trying to stop myself from buying GA Eyes to Kill in khaki until payday at least! There are many other products I have bought/not bought based on your fantastic reviews. I am a great fan of Bobbi Brown cream shadows/pot rouge and lip colors and Party Alice lipcolor will be mine very soon thanks to your recent review! You really are the best, Christine, congratulations and thank you for all your hard work.

Oh wow quite a bit an have loved everything I purchased that you rated with a stellar review. You have saved me money on stuff I would have otherwise purchased but held back due to poor performance/pigmentation reviews: i.e MAC Mineralize shadows. They don’t work for me either.
Recently I bought: Changel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque and Peridot nail polish. Love them both the quality is unmatched!

Let’s see… UD Naked palette; MAC blushes in Happy Together, Pet Me, My Highland Honey, Bite of an Apple; Mac lipsticks in Hibiscus, Ever Hip, Jazzed, and one lipgloss in Strange Potion; the Cremeblend blushes in Joie de Vivre & Optimistic Orange; Benefit’s Sugarbomb; WetnWild palettes in Silent Treatment, Walking on Eggshells and Comfort Zone; Milani Liquif’eye; and theBalm Frat boy

Hello Christine,

I was tempted to buy the Nars Smudgeproof Eyashadow base after reading you review. Among all of the bloggers I read, your opinions are the only ones that I trust without a doubt. Thanks for your awesome and honet reviews.

I have bought many items based on your reviews but the one that comes to mind immediately is the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill shadows. I absolutely love them and intend to get the whole collection.

I started following this blog 2 years ago when I found it looking for swatches of the MAC pigments that were released for the holidays in 2009. I was 31 years old at the time and had not been much into makeup previously, certainly not high-end makeup at all. I bought the Smoky pigment set based on your review at the time, got hooked on the blog, and pretty much all my makeup purchases since then have been influenced by your reviews. I am now a makeup and skincare addict of sorts, though I buy cautiously on a limited budget. Learning about makeup has become one of my favorite hobbies, and I thoroughly enjoy your blog!

I’m a nail polish nut so a lot of my nail polish purchases have been influenced by your blog. Which means, it sucks to be O.P.I because I used to buy their polishes after I’d see your swatches. Since they decided they don’t want free marketing, the only color I have bought from them is black. I would rather see swatches and reviews of other colors before buying them. Well, sucks for them because I started buying more Zoya polishes after seeing them on your blog.

Make-up wise, I usually play it safe and go with what has been working for me for years. So the only thing I bought after seeing it here is Urban Decay’s Naked palette. Although, I have to say, I have been itching to buy Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in Gigolo since I saw your review of it. You have no idea how many times I have looked at that post and sighed from despair. It costs approximately $52 in Canada!

So far I’ve bought Laura Mercier foundation and blush, plus have three OCC nail polishes coming my way. And I just found this blog a week ago…

The Urban Decay 15th Anniversary palette and the UD Feminine palette. It would have inspired way more purchases if I didn’t have to buy food and pay bills.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows and Sugarbomb Blush! I probably would not have even considered checking out Benefit if I had not read your great posts. And MAC Megametal Eyeshadows – I thought at first these would not be for me, but after your review I knew I HAD to get at least one (I got three in the end :-D)
Your blog is my absolute go to when I want to check out a product – you write such complete and honest reviews and they are always so helpful! If I could I would get at least one of each product you recommend! Love ya!!

Oh my πŸ˜€ so many Things. I guess the most important is my new-found love for red lipsticks. Your site is just a wonderland full of beautiful lipsticks in all shades one ever could dream of. So of course I had to buy chanels dragon. I love it. Right now I am waiting for one back up to arrive, as well as guerlain’s rouge G in garΓ§onne. I just couldn’t get this color out if my mind so I had to buy it πŸ™‚ this site is NOT good for my financial situation πŸ˜‰

I haven’t been here in over a month, so I’m looking at everything that I’ve missed, so forgive me for commenting on an old post. xD

I bought a lot of Wet N’ Wild stuff based on your recommendations. The quality of the trios are great, and the mega eyes creme liner is fantastic. I believe I also bought MAC Cranberry after seeing swatches.

There are a lot of high end stuff that I wanted based on your reviews, but thankfully I’ve never been close enough to any makeup counters because then I would have killed some big bucks. -.- But your opinions are trusted, so it’s natural that anyone would go out and buy items that get your good word. πŸ™‚
