Bronzes, mustard yellow, blue brown type duochromes, swampy greens
Sparkly champagnes. Bronzes with personality!
Anything purple, although I do prefer blue-based purples, greys, taupes, mauves. Generally, muted, cool colors.
You may like the Smashbox Punked CoverShot palette. It has a muted cool toned purple/gray color story and the formula is great, especially the mattes. The shimmers have more of a pearl finish than the typical foiled metallics seen now but a wet brush can intensify them. Don’t be fooled by the small size because I’ve had mine for 3 years, use it regularly and just hit pan on the matte shade I use the most.
Ditto
My first weakness is purple and the pinks. And in general purple/pink duochromes
Yup – exactly the shade you described, Christine. Adaptogen is just the type of shade I love, along with colours like Sumptuous Olive (discontinued now, isn’t it?), MUFE Reptile, the CT The Rebel palette, ABH Bronx, 3 of the shadows in the Huda Jaguar Obsessions palette – all those murky greenish bronze shades. I could probably fill a page with favourites in that sort of category but I’ll leave it there, as it would be pretty embarrassing.
Good grief – how could I leave taupe in all its variations off my list? Shades like Insane Jane and Selfish (the Balm), Satin Taupe (MAC), Lhasa (Nars) and a whole bunch of other taupe beauties? They may have taken a bit of a back seat to that bronzed/green/brown sort of shade but I do still love them!
Depending on my mood (and outfit) I either go for coppery browns or cool taupes….I generally stay away from brights….maybe because I’m not 20 anymore! Really anything muted with color…..
Mint/tarquoise, the kind of shades which are a mix between blue and green. But not too much dark. Pastels or bright. I’m also a sucker for every duochrome/multichrome with a shifting in this direction. I also like pastel between liliac and blue. As for my neutral, shimmery orange-corals with gold and peachy shimmer.
Rosy coppers & antique golds/pewters. Metallic, of course.
Cool-toned purple shimmers are my biggest weakness. I’m also pretty drawn to blues, pinks, and greens. <3
Taupes, I love how unique and interesting they can be, while still being neutral and suited for everyday wear.
Berry/purple-leaning plums, taupes, red-leaning coppers, olives, weird acid/yellowy greens, specific shades of gold and bronze, pinky-taupe metallics.
Cool neutrals. I can never have too many.
Purple/plum/lavender and all the greens!
Olive greens and electric blues 🙂
Any shade of green (matte or shimmer); warm copper and light red shimmers; purple-based browns (matte or shimmer).
Yes. Your answer. And also blackened tealy metallics. The richer and more jeweled the better.
Peacock Blue, especially in metallic and DEFINITELY in multichrome (+green, purple, gold hues)!!!
Metallic avocados and sages, peaches and coppers, bronzes and grieges and antique golds, aubergines and plums….anything muted and metallic.
Also I am a sucker for a cool or neutral all matte palette.
Black, Gold & Pink.
Grey. For years I wore Lancôme’s eyeshadow in Gris. It was unique…not too black…no blue/violet. It was a satin finish and lovely. I tried to dupe it and gave up. I have a few grey eyeshadows. They are underwhelming but wearable.
Look at Devinah Cosmetics Eternal Night “palette”. It’s a collection of their matte singles in shades that go from bright white to black but most are varying shades of gray with different undertones. The collection can be purchased as a whole and it comes with an empty palette or you can buy the singles individually as they’re all part of the permanent line. The Devinah matte formula is fabulous – pigmented and blends like a dream but they’re very softly pressed so one tap of the brush is enough to get buildable color
Multichrome blue/purple/green for colors and for neutral, grungy olives.
Same, I probably have too many sparkly dark bronzy/greens and dirty pewter shades. Also indigo blues, teals, chartreuse and peachy coppers : )
Too many??? Pshaw! There is no such thing as too many of that gorgeous, sludgy bronzed khaki/greened bronze shade (well, almost no such thing as too many…)
Can you give me some Dark, antique golds/pewter gold eyeshadow singles that perform outstanding please Christine would love if you have some you can recommend. I own already like Mariella likes; MUF reptile, sumptuous olive, both of them I love….. also love retro beige matte by give me glow its outstanding!
Recommendations please I am light/medium (more medium) neutral yellow leaning so these shades really work well on me!

You nailed it Christine: Smooth golds (like PMG’s Gold Nectar), olive, mid tone browns (like Smog), rose golds, bronze/copper, sage greens, taupes…my very favourites.
Adaptogen is a classic colour….love it.
Pale silvery taupe or pale icy lilac both in metallic/shimmer finish for one and done looks
All the purples, cool toned greens, and metallic silvers!!
Taupe and mushroom-y colors, soft pinks, wines, grays/silvers, and purples are my favorites. I love doing a look with taupe and mauve.
Any blue brown like mac’s blue brown pigment and club.
Purple. I love how it brings out the green in my eyes.
(Rosy) bronzes, coppers, browns with a twist
Champagnes, and I’m always looking for a bright emerald green
Most of them!
TAUPE!! I have more palettes of taupe than I can count. Matte or shimmer. Doesn’t matter. Love that color!!
If I can only pick one it’s purple.
I also like greens, my favourite would be Sumptuous Olive from MAC, taupes like MAC Satin Taupe, greys and silver but also lighter golds and champagne.
I guess I like almost all colours but stay away from the warmest like yellow and orange, I also rarely use blue.
Purple, chartreuse, murky greens, and and mustardy yellows.
