Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

So many of my favourites have been discontinued already, or reformulated into Crapdom (I’m especially looking at YOU, Urban Decay Primer Potion). Honestly, some of MAC’s best powder and cream eyeshadows, ALL of UD’s really great shadows and the Primer Potion….I could just go on and on and on.

Sadly, I’m finding the same with UDPP, Rachel. It used to be my most reliable eyeshadow primer but my newest tube is so inferior to past tubes I’ve had AND it combines the worst aspects of their past packaging…. I dunno – maybe it’s me and my skin has changed but I don’t think it’s changed that much….

This whole move to “clean” is so meaningless – there are few or no guidelines or regulations as to what is “clean” and it reminds me of the early days of “organic food” – again, there were no meaningful guidelines. Just give me back my “dirty” UDPP and the other products that have suffered from this move to “clean”.

I can think of a few! MAC Orb Satin Eyeshadow because it looks matte, yet it applies with the smoothing effect of a satin which hides the eczema patches on my browbone. The other is Smashbox Always On Eye Pencil in Fishnet because it is the only one that STAYS intact on my upper tightline since Marc Jacobs Hi-Liners (and the entire company) were discontinued.
And, yes, I too would be devastated if Sydney Grace went out of business. I have quite a lot of their eyeshadows, and the hype is REAL! Sooo good 😊

I would definitely agree with you there Christine – Sydney Grace delivers the best eyeshadows – they are consistently of excellent quality and a very reliable brand. And, as Mariella, has so eloquently stated above, so many brands are still delivering sub standard eyeshadows of late. All the best ones have fallen by the wayside – SG shines like a beacon.

Honestly my love obsession of 2022 were the Kaja Beauty Bento stacks. Own 2 and love both, and they get tons of wear time in my collection since I tend to put my makeup on in the car (after parking, of course). I have 4 others in my loves list and plan to pick those up soon. I would add the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadows but I have only owned two since Xmas, so the love affair is still pretty recent, but nonetheless adored.

Wet n Wild Photofocus Eyeshadow Primer. Costs about $8 and performs better on my lids than Urban Decay’s eyeshadow primer. I have a feeling though that it’s on the way to being discontinued because it’s getting harder to find in my local stores.
