What do you like about tinted moisturizers? What don't you like?

Tell us what you love and hate about...

I rarely use them, but I feel like in a world where I left the house more, they’d be something I’d reach for more often as a quick way to throw on a bit of coverage without faffing about too much.

All the time. I cocktail stuff w/ Paula. It depends on what direction I want to go…Coola for a moist look, Jane Iredale liquid minerals for more matte and cooler, Bare Minerals for neutral. I seldom put in the foundation I use, KGD, but that works, too. If needed, you can do a second layer w/o break up. Rare cases of disagreement w/eye cream and/or concealer. Too old for the full face foundation look. KGD aqua is pretty natural. If they make a TM, in my range, I’ll try it.

Actually, I don’t ever use tinted moisturizer at all. However, I DO use one very good coverage BB Cream by Lumene in Medium that I purchase through Amazon. More coverage plus SPF than the majority of tinted moisturizers, yet less than my Fenty Profilt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation or MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing WP Foundation.

Personally I don’t use them either, mainly because if I want some coverage on my face then I will go to the trouble of using a foundation, as I would want it to last all day. My skin tone is uneven at best, so I do need more coverage,
The main problem with tinted moisturisers is the tint – mostly it is not in my shade and it would end up looking weird on my face,

I like a light coverage with dewy finish, so tinted moisturizers can be perfect for me. I use my regular moisturizer underneath, I’ve heard people say that using your regular moisturizer underheath defeats the purpose of a tinted moisturizer, which they think of as an all-in-one, one-step product. However, I need the extra moisture and don’t think of a tinted moisturizer as a one-step product but rather as a light foundation.

If I’m using a regular foundation, I make it into a tinted moisturizer by starting with moisturizer on the face, then blending more of the moisturizer with the foundation in my hand, and then applying.

My moisturizer has been Clinique DDML+ since forever. My tinted moisturizers are MAC Face & Body, and Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. My foundation is MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation.

The early tinted moisturizers were too greasy and would make me break(and I have dry skin). Now mind as well mix a foundation with your moisturizer(I’m pretty bad at that as well lol). I’m in the market for a tinted moisturizer, I think I’m gonna pick up the one from Calliray..

I don’t use tinted moisturizer often but when I do it’s for a quick day outing or when I will be out in the sun and more coverage will be too much. For many years, my skin wasn’t good enough to consider using them but now, as I’ve become older, become more conscientious and less hormonal, and learned to use concealer better, this product is much more flattering.
