Matte Bronzer
I like that you can get more depth and true-to-pan color when applied over the right base products. Like most matte powders, they can darken noticeably when applied to bare skin or anything that it’s really dry/matte already, so they’re not as versatile, can be harder to blend, and then require adding more product on top make it look skin-like again.

All I know is that anything TOO matte and dry looking can look like I smudged dirt on my face. Probably because of my skintone having an olive undertone, it’s not a good look for me.
I do, however, enjoy wearing natural finish or more satiny matte bronzers! My favorite bronzer of all-time has to be UD Jawbone, which is matte, but has a very natural skin-like finish to it, plus I love the color of it to liven up my face. As I’ve hit major pan on mine, I know that I’m going to be quite sad in the near future when it’s gone.
A matte bronzer is my go-to option. But liking matte bronzers it’s a matter of finding the right one… most matte bronzers tend to apply patchy… and there’s always the search for the perfect shade. Once those two items checked, they are the most flattering on me, and I love I can easily skip blush but still look chiseled.
My fav is Nars Zen which is a blush actually. Just the right pink brown sadly discontinued.
That was a happy find.
Since I quit (fake) tanning, the use of bronzers have diminished too. I only have the CT bronze and glow, and the beach stick left. They will carry me for years 😉
I have never used a matte though, I love my glow.
I love matte bronzers because they are the easiest way to make me look naturally tan, or emphasize the tan I do have without looking fake.
What I (only sort of) dislike is that you need to use a light hand to avoid looking dirty or patchy.
LIKE: I love matte bronzers. It’s easier to find a shade that suits my skin tone, and I think they’re more natural looking on someone like me who doesn’t tan, fake tan, or use bronzer all over the face.
DISLIKE: They’re harder to find than shimmery bronzers. They tend to have limited shade ranges. While it’s easier to find something suitable for pale skin, that’s a relative term, and most brands don’t have a shade light enough for me, or else they run too orange.
