What do you like about ColourPop? What don't you like?

ColourPop
I remain impressed by their ability to be pretty consistent in quality over so many launches, and they are still at a more affordable price point, so it is a good way to try out trends without breaking the bank. I do think they could slow down the releases to something every other week instead of every week, though! I’d also love to see them have a more established core range.

I love their color range and cute packaging, but their eye shadows fade in like 90 minutes on me! I’ve tried and tried to make them last but just can’t get any decent wear out of them. I finally gave up and moved on to other brands.
Let me get the obvious “dislike” out of the way first: ColourPop needs to slow it down! Please! Too difficult for many of us to keep up with their continuous stream of new-new. It feels like running a marathon, for goodness sake! As a result, I’ve been noticing that the quality has very slowly and insidiously begun to decline.
As for what I do like/love: the price point is still quite affordable. Still have excellent access to their products, too. And every once in awhile, they can still take my breath away with something very innovative or unique in its beauty! Case in point: all 3 Star Wars palettes, Lux Lipsticks and some of the NBA team palettes.
I don’t like that they discontinue so many beloved shades and products – and that is a huge dislike. There isn’t anything else that really bothers me. I get shipments quickly, the products I get are usually quite lovely, customer service has always been responsive, they have good sales, and the list goes on of likes. I own a lot of colourpop and keep it around because it works for me and I truly enjoy using their products.
They have some real gems, but the sheer volume makes them more difficult to find. I get turned off with the churn and stop seeing them as an option. In terms of their eyeshadow palettes, not gonna lie, I sometimes get enticed, but wind up preferring other formulas in stash and so they get used for a brief bit, but then relegated to second tier stash (read: barely used). Mission accomplished, right? I feel guilty about that.
On a positive note, a great place to try something new. I applaud the affordability and inclusion and consistency. There are higher end labels who cannot/will not deliver that.
Colourpop has shown itself to be a fairly consistent brand over the past few years and generally their products have been really good.
I love their Lux lipstick range the best and their blushes are fabulous for the price.
As you say Christine, I do wish they would slow down their release rate a lot and do away with some of the really gimmicky stuff. I also wish that their eye palettes would vary more in their formats: 5 mattes and 4 shimmers – I would love them to put out a palette of all of their best shimmer shades.
I also would like them to retain more of their best shades – both eyeshadows and lipsticks in their core range too.
Like: price point, Shock eyeshadow in a few specific colors; glad they finally branched out from warm nudes.
Dislike: finding a great color only to have it disappear from the selection; the speed at which the Shock eyeshadow formula quality declines over time. The texture dumped out on mine in less than a year,
Yeah, I made the mistake of getting overly excited because it’s one of the few cream formulas that worked for me and now own 9. Last year I bought I duo that I used for work and actually used up the mid shade, but the light shade formula thinned out over time. So I’m thinking I probably should’ve kept my collection at 2. (I know people say you can revitalize them but my collection is large that I’ve already moved on to newer things by that time and lose interest in doctoring old things.)
You introduced me to this line, and I am nuts for their lipsticks and eyeshadows. I love that they are cruelty-free and mostly vegan, so I can recommend them to many others.
Prices and quality are really good, but the rate that they spew out new eyeshadows is head spinning and I can’t keep up and I don’t have any interest in trying to keep up.
I have been a fan of Colour Pop since the beginning and it is one of my favorite brands.
Likes: price, sales, quality, LOVE the super shock shadows, Lippie Stix are great, customer service (I received a broken shadow with an order and got a replacement a few days later), variety of products/colors.
Dislike: like everyone else I think they need to slow down on the releases but that’s really the only thing I don’t like. And I wish they would bring back the Wet lippy stix.
I love their products and order often, with no regrets. The formula, colours and prices are fantastic too but they discontinue items I consider should be core products. The Lux Lipsticks are my favourite lipsticks of all time but they keep getting discontinued. Their international carrier is just abysmal. The customer service agents are either fantastic or they answer a completely different question, there is no in between.
Nothing.
I like nothing about Colourpop. In fact, I’d like to see them tank so at least they stop manufacturing so much waste at the expense of the environment and the human labor required to churn out trash at such high speeds. I don’t click on their posts here any more because even that supports them. This one being the exception so I can give my debbie downer spiel about how they are literally ruining the world. (obviously someone will be angry at that statement and exclaim “What about ____??? They’re doing so much more!!” Let me ask you this is a person stealing a $5 bag not a thief because another stole a $15 duffel? The scale is different, but one doesn’t negate another’s actions. They’re both wrong)
I’ve purchased something from every category Colourpop offers over the years. It all performs as cheaply as it’s priced and I’m just not about that life. There are other options for affordability that doesn’t come at the cost of what feels like your soul hurting at all the plastic trash that will be inside of your children in the near future.
What I like best: it’s an affordable brand that releases many unique concepts. Sometimes there is a broad color/shade range in a collection.
What I dislike: too many releases (“fast fashion”); some of these releases look alike or the themes don’t match the products that are released. Sometimes there isn’t a broad color/shade range in a collection.
Super Shock colors
Super Shock drying out sometimes and paying shipping almost as much as the products purchased.
