There are some lovely formulas in their line, but they do not seem to innovate often. I’m always surprised that they don’t have a line of liquid/cream or powder eyeshadows (think Shimmering Skin Perfectors for eyes) and more face products (like more bronzers and contouring formulas).

It’s weirdly poor strategy on their part that they haven’t relaunched the beach tints, which would be perfectly on trend right now. I also don’t understand why they can’t come up with a good tinted lip balm. Out of every prestige brand, their beach image is the best fit for that type of product but they flub the formulation every time. Do they have ingredient sourcing issues or something?

Love their highlighters and occasional lipgloss, when they make one or two. Also, I do love all their collaboration cheek palettes and do want to get at least one of their lipsticks, as they look so comfortable.
Dislike the fact that overhyped the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter’s scarcity, then turned around and ripped it off from her. I think that was just plain wrong. Oh, and the atrocious quality of that eyeshadow palette they made in collab with JH reflected badly on her instead of on Becca. That one still has me scratching my head!

The biggest gripe I have against Becca is the fragrance in their highlighters and primers. I love them, but I am allergic to the fragrance, and theirs is really strong, to the point of smelling like cologne. I had to throw out the primers and liquid highlighters, even though I love the glow they gave me.

Jujubes Avatar

I have, though oddly it’s the only primer that didn’t work for me. I really love the backlight and first light primers but they are too heavily fragranced for me.

Has the Velvet Blurring Primer been discontinued? The only handy place for me to get Becca is at Sephora and I no longer see that one on their site? Is it available but just not at Sephora?

Lately I only saw the mini at Ulta, online only. Otherwise it’s available only on the Becca site, but I don’t know if they will still carry it; it’s not on sale, as typically happens to discontinued products. I’m always cringing when the foundation goes on sale, in case that means they discontinue or change the formula. 😆

I just noticed that it is still available on Becca’s site and also on Amazon.ca, where they’re charging well over the odds. I’ll keep my eyes peeled to see if it turns up at Winners or Marshall’s for a fraction of the regular price (I found a Nars Suede Voyageur palette there yesterday for $15, I think; it sells for $41 here so quite the saving, and it’s a fantastic little palette)

I think they have a strong, fairly consistent core range of lipsticks, blushes, bronzers, highlighters, and primers. However, they haven’t expanded these ranges or added new lines to attract new customers or keep people interested in the brand once they picked up the items that work for them.

So many of their products that I like have been discontinued. I know they had some eyeshadows or an eyeshadow palette 5 or so years back and it was pretty universally panned as really poor quality. I guess I sort of expect better from Becca, based on their products I’ve liked. So I’d love it if they came out with a good quality eye palette or 2 or a few quads, but, again, good quality ones.

I used to really enjoy their face primer, but then it quit working for me so I never repurchased. I did try their color corrector and under eye cooling primer years ago and they did not work for me – the color corrector and concealer were sticky and tacky on me (and setting them creased) and I didn’t notice any difference with the under eye primer. I honestly don’t own anything by Becca anymore. I think they have some very pretty packaging. I recently made an order and the hydra refresh powder was a rewards choice so I got it because I’ve heard good things. Overall my opinion on Becca is that it is a brand I usually hear good things about and it looks pretty on my vanity, but doesn’t excite/intrigue me enough to make a purchase anymore.

My relationship with Becca as a brand is very different from most people.
I’m not a highlighter person; maybe a little bit of illuminating powder, but something very subtle. I just don’t like how the brand is focused on those very strong, almost chunky highlighters. I don’t like all those Champagne Pops, Shimmering Skin Perfectors and other products people so rave about.
Maybe it’s because I’m not interested in the glow, but I swatched them in store, the formula is awful even compared to some drugstore options…

I don’t like the gimmick they tried to pull recently with their Zero Foundation which proved to be more of a primer. The primers they currently have in the line-up do a much better job at perfecting the skin and adding a lightweight coverage (well, if you are one of the few people who match the slight tint they add).

The brand is quite boring to me, the aesthetics don’t appeal me and I don’t see it as a cohesive innovative brand.
I also wonder why they don’t make more eyeshadows (that Pearl Glow palette is such an odd one, especially the aesthetic) and contour products.

But I love their complexion products, they are the unsung heros of Becca to me.
The Ultimate Coverage Foundation is my top favorite foundation along Double Wear and Prolongwear Waterproof. I just can’t believe how they nailed down coverage in such a lightweight formula (if you don’t apply too much product) that lasts all day without transfer.
The Aqua Luminous Concealer is amazing for people like me with dry undereyes, prone to creasing. I wish it had a little bit more coverage, but it stays put all day without creasing, it’s hydrating without being too emollient.
The Velvet Blurring Primer is another amazing product, one I would also put on the top of my list. Makes the skin look wonderful even before applying foundation, helps makeup look great all day long.
And I like all those products come in sturdy glass packaging.
I just wish they put as much effort in promoting complexion products, as they do with all their highlighters and glow adding products.

I love their highlighters and the blush I have from them. I used to have a foundation from them I loved, but they discontinued it a long time ago. It’s not that anything’s wrong with Becca, but it just seems we don’t hear much from them, and what we do see isn’t very exciting.

Then there is the new no pigment foundation which just seems a gimmicky ploy to get them talked about again, but I have heard more than a few reviewers refer to as “the emperor’s new clothes.” This isn’t the “innovation” we’re hoping to see from them. They need a new marketing team, developing team, or both.

I don’t have anything against Becca and I love the products that I do have, blushes and highlighters, but they haven’t released anything exciting in a long time and so I have lost interest and don’t even browse their site. It isn’t carried anywhere near me so I have to either wait until I go to the big city or rely on internet shopping but I just don’t remember to check them out.

I still love their powder highlighters! I don’t like their lipgloss because it tastes like sunscreen to me, or just has a weird scent. They’ve ridden the Champagne Pop train for too long! It’s like ok, we get it. A newer version of the same thing is not a new thing. It’s the old thing in new packaging. I was really confused about their new clear foundation and thought it was gimmicky at best. But at least they tried something new, I guess. I usually like their face palettes, but haven’t seen one in a while. Didn’t care for that compact with blush, bronzer and highlighter in the same pan (with the surfboard design in the middle). It was not user friendly, just cute to look at. I want to see more from them, I don’t know what, just that they haven’t been hitting the mark with their recent releases.

I was an early user of Becca when it first came out in early 2000’s. They made a great cream blush and I don’t know why they stopped. Nothing from the original launch remains. I do like the backlit primer as I really don’t wear foundation but it gives a little something. The original launch was very skin protective/skin perfecting focused. They had a wide range of shades ( at the time) although they do seem to have a wide range in their current offerings.

Genevieve Avatar

Like – I think Becca set the gold standard with their highlighters and they certainly have stood the test of time. Their blushes can be pretty good too.
Dislike – their forays into eyeshadows have been disappointing and their lipsticks so-so.
I just think they are expensive. The fragrance level in their products is an issue for some as well.

Nicole Avatar

Becca Glow Gloss is such a great product, and the Chrissy Teigen pallet is probably my favorite all over pallet of all time. I used that thing up, which I never do. I really wish they would bring it back, or at least something similar.

Brian Avatar

Their under eye brightener is the most natural looking way I’ve found to diminish my very very bad dark circles. If they ever discontinued it I would finally understand how people feel to lose a holy grail. Nothing else I have tried makes the same kind of difference this does. I usually use it alone but it also works really well over concealer.

Sarah Avatar

Honestly, they’re a wholly unremarkable brand that releases some pretty remarkable highlighters. Their primer – I mean, pigment-free foundation – was a puzzling addition that made me tune them out, I think.

Erica Avatar

I like their blushes but they no longer have them at Sephora or Ulta. Their Moonstone highlighter is one of my most favorite. But their releases of late have been duds so I don’t pay attention to them anymore. I find their No Pigment Foundation to be absurd. It’s a primer. Call it that. Stop with the gimmicks. Not cool!

Jen Avatar

I don’t have anything specifically against the brand but they come across as kind of…bland and forgettable. I’ve heard good things about them but they don’t come to mind unless I’m looking for a specific Becca product, compared to other brands where I occasionally pop in to see what’s new.
