We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Where to start???? Concealer is my Achilles heel (I typo’d “hell”, but that’s actually quite true) – I NEED concealer and I’m always looking for “the one”. It could be NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla. Colour was perfect but no matter what I did, it looked dry and scaly within a few hours. But I think Benefit Boing (the 2017 version in the round, screw top jar that has since been discontinued) was great for a while and then suddenly wasn’t working all that well.

Nope. There is no longer a Chanel makeup counter (only fragrance) anywhere at all near me and I’d need to be able to shop in person for a concealer or a foundation, especially at Chanel’s prices.

Since you mentioned the same Benefit’s Boi-ing I like, try Fenty’s. The texture is closer to NARS, but not as drying or thin. Test it though, before purchase because it’s not as moist as Boi-ing.

I’m so awash in concealers that I don’t want to buy one until I finish something new. What you said about it being thinner than Nars and not as moist as Boi-ing make me think it wouldn’t actually be all that good for me but I might give it a try.
The BEST concealer ever for me was Cargo’s Blu-Ray and, of course, it was discontinued! I used to scour Marshall’s and Winners in hopes of finding a stray tube here or there (I may have found one or two but in the process, I always managed to find other great stuff that I wasn’t even looking for!)

And Mariella is probably more pink than I & the Fenty bases all look yellow on me. Not warm, yellow. Per the SAs as well. Thought that was unusual, but I’ve read it a lot. Fenty is an IRL line. Bummed me out.

At present, I like Winky Lux in light and the Saem tip concealer in 1.5. The Saem is KB, available at big A, pretty cheap, and many light color choices. Not so hot for darker skintones. Neither has chem sunscreens. Important bec chems drop my temp to 93, which feels like imminent death. Far worse than wrong texture or color, lol. Both those concealers are medium and blendable. Yet they work with very sheer TMs. I need an annex to store my concealers, no joke. Each has pink u/ts, which admittedly is tough to find.

Tarte Shape Tape. I went through a couple of tubes of it, but finally decided it was too thick and cakey for my fragile, thin under-eyes. (I really, really dislike makeup sponges, so a damp sponge was not an option.) For the past several years I’ve been using Lancôme Effacernes, which works much better on me.

Literally ANYTHING I have tried that is prone to creasing and settling into fine lines, anything too thick and heavy also. Really not a brand specific type of problem as much as a formula type problem. I’m 64, not a lot of wrinkles one would notice without many concealers, and I do still need a high coverage one due to needing something that covers eczema patches and healing acne breakouts.

Also shape tape. I could never find the right shade for me and the closest was always a little too light. The coverage was just also extreme and when I sheered it out I found it didn’t wear well, it would just break up and look terrible after a few hours. But boy did I keep trying to make it work.

Cover FX Power Play. I picked up the Dior Forever Skin Correct concealer as an impulse purchase abt a week after it launched, fell in love instantly and stopped using almost all others, including my usual go-to, Cover FX. Unfortunately, I’m not a huge fan of the new reformulated version so when I use up my older ones, I may go back to Cover FX.

I still remember buying the Dior concealer because it was the day before NYC essentially shut down because of Covid and I stopped at the Sephora on 42nd St near my office before taking the subway home…and staying there for many weeks.

Milk Flex concealor. It seemed to have like, oxidized in the tube a few months after purchasing. Got too dark & thickened up real quick. Everyone says their Future Fluid is supposed to be bomb. IDK though. Think I’m growing wary of all these “clean brands”. I appreciate preservatives in my beauty products. But that’s a whole other topic. Lol
