What brand's aesthetic most aligns with yours?
I like pretty simplistic packaging and clean lines, so a lot of the Natasha Denona packaging I enjoy – I also like how the eyeshadows can be rearranged in the eyeshadow palettes (super rare for a higher end brand).
I agree about ND packaging. I like Viseart’s packaging too– with that little pull to open, and especially when they put the mirror as well with that nice easel set up.
The original Kat Von D Beauty was my aesthetic — goth, punk, dark. Now I’d have to say Melt Cosmetics comes closest to that feel.
It’s gotta be Chanel (a challenge to get now that the local counter closed down) or Dior. I’m older than most here and that slightly less “out there”, more refined style is very much to my taste.
Trixie Cosmetics.
Black Moon Cosmetics, Unearthly Cosmetics, and Melt.
I like the clean simple black aesthetic of MAC packaging in the core collection. Their limited editions and newer products tend to be more colorful and inventive, not really always my vibe.
I just love the look of a makeup collection where everything looks the same and aligns / stacks perfectly. I don’t need colors, I don’t need whites that get dirty easily, I don’t need complex bulky packaging; I want simplicity and functionality.
Few brands nowadays stick to one color among all products, and most times is brown.
Oddly enough, I like some of MAC’s colourful LE packaging because it makes it easier to find in the glut of makeup products I have. A few of their eyeshadow singles and some of their liners are just easier to find because they AREN’T in the black packaging (and I really wish they’d switch to flat topped compacts….I have to stack a lot of things on shelves and the danger of them toppling over is increased because of those domed lids).
When they still had more in the way of customizable options for blush or eyeshadow palettes, MAC. I have also noticed that they don’t seem to have much in the way of LE collections anymore, either? At least not other than holiday. I actually love their more utilitarian, simple packaging!
Now, I would say that I’m feeling a bit of an inner tug of war within myself between Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona. With ND having so many more affordable options on one hand, but PML having some very rich, complex shades going for it.
But, now there’s also Lethal Cosmetics and Kaleidos, and they’re KILLING it with their products pigmentation, quality and very unique shades!
I have to say SG – because of their commitment to high quality eyeshadows and stunning range of beautiful shades, that are so affordable.
I know we’re in a fight with ColourPop right now (and rightfully so) but I love their packaging, especially the boxes. I love that soft feel and then the 3D words that feel different from the box itself. Does that make sense? I also love all of the different colors the palettes themselves are (not the shadows, the actual palette).
Rituel de Fille, I love their elevated goth look
YSL, Dior Westman Atelier and Chanel.
NARS! I love the generally smaller size of their palettes. I don’t like things to be too bulky or clunky.
I think I fall into the Charlotte Tilbury and Lunar Beauty packaging aesthetic, with a splash of Patrick Ta in the mix 😉
Concur with you on ND, BUT I like the weight and mirror in the Motherships (at least the one I have, Subliminal). If I could have one in Midnight Blue (metallic) or Deep Burgundy Purple, I’d go for just the palettes. That said, as for overall brand look, ND.
