What brand do you think will be most interesting in 2023?

Danessa Myricks, perhaps, as the brand has gained traction and seems more apt to explore new formulations/latest technology as they have several multichrome releases now.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Since it’s been mainly Indie brands that have been bringing it, I believe that this trend will continue through this year, as well. When I see the very inspiring, unique color stories and willingness to step out of the box with brands like Nomad, Kaleidos, Phytosurgence, Lethal and Oden’s Eye, it brings a smile to my face and a ray of joy to my heart!

Once upon a time we would have all said Urban Decay – but sadly, that is not the case anymore.
It’s hard to predict – but I still think Sydney Grace has always a lot to offer, so too some of the indie brands like Terra Moons, JD Glow and Give Me Glow.
If Pat can get out of her pink or repeat shades rut, maybe PMG. It will be interesting to see what ND comes out with too.

Danessa Myricks is a good bet. Maybe Linda Hallberg? I hope About Face will continue to produce interesting products at a good price. I could see Rare giving us more interesting-in-an-everyday-way products. Of course I expect interesting shadows from indies w/ unique formulas like like Terra Moons, Clionadh, Sydney Grace, Give Me Glow, Lethal Cosmetics, etc. And I don’t know how unique the formula is, but I’ve been intrigued by Fantasy Cosmetica’s palettes. I think they have great colour stories (and a theme that appeals to my inner fantasy nerd) and look forward to seeing what they come out with next.

Suqqu was the most interesting for me in 2022 and in the first three weeks of 2023, the situation is unchanged. Their color stories stand out and they have some really good formulas. I hope they will not let me down!
The only downside is that I live in Europe and the only place I can order Suqqu from are UK retailers, some of which, as a result of Brexit, do not ship to continental Europe anymore. The rest are either super expensive or inconsistent on which limited edition collections they get/when they get it. The only other Suqqu retailer I’m aware of is a department store called Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris, but to my knowledge, they do not offer international shipping. I really hope that a Suqqu retailer in continental Europe would start shipping to other EU countries.

Agree with you on Danessa Myricks, seems like Pat McGrath lost her way on the unique formulations route (in my book). I also agree with Nancy on Oden’s Eye (been eyeing them, sorry for the cheap joke, LOL!). I also think that if they keep to quality and what they do “duo’ and “multi” chromes, Karla Cosmetics (UK) is definitely on the up! I wasn’t thrilled with their first palette (a quad) in that Bridgerton – PML kinda vein, but it did have slight Kevyn Aucoin vibe.
