What beauty-related questions would you like to see the community answer?

I need ideas! Now is the time to submit those questions ideas that may be floating in your head 🙂 Ideally, the questions for Temptalia Asks You are open-ended, discussion-based questions (vs. “do you like X” which can be answered with yes/no).

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

What’s dreadful about Nurse? I only have anti-socialite…admittedly primarily for the name. I think the formula is tuggy going on, but not as dry as most, once it’s on. Nurse is always backburnered for me.

My nurse lipstick is very matte and therefore very dry. It tugs on my lips and generally a pain to put on because it can be so messy. It transfers a lot and doesn’t last long. I expected so much more because of the price. My MAC lipsticks which are cheaper performs much better. But despite all this I absolutely love the packaging and therefore find it difficult to declutter.

Thanks. I think it’s ok once it’s on, with the abh mattes FAR worse. But antisocialite certainly is the polar opposite from Nars Audacious, as far as ease and comfort.

I dont know if some of these have already been asked but:

1. Favorite transition shades of eyeshadow
2. Favorite skincare brand and why?
3. What ‘cult favotie’ products did NOT work for you and why?
4. How much time do you give a skincare product before you expect to see results and when do you decide it is not effective? Are there any products you use based on the promise of results down the line that you don’t see the efficacy of as you use it?

I always like questions pertaining to brushes. As in “what is your favorite crease brush” or “what brush do you find best for bronzer”. I also think “how do you like to apply bronzer (or blush or dark crease color, etc)” is a good open ended question. It’s nice to see how other people do things and I always pick up some ideas that I can try.

3. Besides Temptalia, how do you find out about new products coming down the pike?
4. What makes you interested in trying a new and innovative product?

6. What do you do when you feel like you have fallen into a makeup rut? What do you do to kick-start your creativity?

There are a few questions that I have been thinking about:
1. Are there makeup or skincare brands that you refuse to buy from? And why
2. How have your preferences for eyeshadows changed over time?
3. What beauty brands would you like to see sold in your country?

This might sound silly dumb but I always wonder how do people identify their skin color with a few letters. Do you go go to a certain makeup counter where they tell you you are an NSRX whatever like a cell mate identification? Lol! I’m really lost and would like to find out my exact shade. I know I’m super cool like I never can tan (and keep dreaming only of the day) I burn, turn into a lobster within 15 minutes in the beach. Perhaps some brands especially at drugstores where you cannot swatch a thing they could include pictures ranging in colors such as redheads, or Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, J Lo, Beyoncé, Naomi Watts, Lupita Nyong’o to give some examples. Indian native Indians as well as Indian girls from India. There are beautiful women in every skin shade possible. Maybe they could pin point this item being more suitable if you skin resembles such model, famous person as cool, neutral or darker. But makeup is so personal and we all have different skin tones and features or issues we’ll like to highlite or hide that is merely impossible to suggest a model that’ll fit all. Just a thought. In fact, I think this has already been done as they’ll have a white girl’s face advertising some brand and a black girl advertising others. I really like Rhianna coming out with so many foundation shades including just about everyone in her line. I think she’s gorgeous. Way to go girl!
Ok. skin care! For dry/combo skin or aging. Skin care rituals, excellent products?

I find it interesting to know how people put looks together, so anything like:
What was the last event (night out, family gathering, brunch with friends) for which you consciously put together a look — what products and techniques did you use.
What is your ‘go to’ look for work? For a date night?
What are you wearing now?

What’s the last product you bought on a whim that became a holy grail?
Favorite drugstore product?
Most significant feature and how do you manage or make the most of it?
What HG product have you demoted and what replaced it?

Anything on skin care would be interesting to me since I’m all into that area these days.

As much as this is a beauty discussion, sometimes I want to know how people are dealing with personal skin issues using making or pre makeup. For example:

What is your skin issue (acne, redness, bumps, eczema, etc) and how do you use skincare and makeup to help?

How many times a week do you wear makeup.

Do you ever play and create looks at home only to wash it off after?

Do you feel the size of cosmetics products are a realistic and usable size?
