Out of curiosity, Christine, what made you change your mind on the foundation? I remember in the past that you said you weren’t a huge fan of it.

danza Avatar

This is my experience as well! I looked unbelievably good in pictures – but in person I was an oily mess! It clings to every bit of dry patch too 🙁 shame, because other than that I loved the coverage and the glide. Someone said I literally glow like JLo in my pics, but in real life that glow translated to be an oil slick. Sigh.

Emily Avatar

theBalm Sexy eyeshadow: I just dyed my hair red, and using this shade lightly over my brows makes them the perfect color!

theBalm Frat Boy blush

Maybelline Lots of Lashes

Darphin Intral Toner, Skinceuticals Daily Moisturizer, & L’Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black. I’m a MUA and even I admit that a good skincare regime eclipses makeup. Since spending the money on really good skin care products I actually eliminated the need tfor certain products… at least for me.

Audrey Avatar

1) My Neutrogena Mineral-Sheers pressed powder foundation
2) Maybelline Colossal mascara
3) Maybelline Define-a-brow brow pencil.

This is all I really need to feel comfortable while out and about, but I do like to add a few more things in.

Jade Avatar

MAC Studio Fix Fluid, MAC Brow Shader in Porcelaine/Browning (LONG since discontinued, I will cry the day I have to replace it with something else!) and MAC Blush in Peony Petal. I can happily wear these three things out in a rush and be happy I’m not nakedface!

Rachael Avatar

Too Faced BB Cream
Dior Addict Extreme lipstick in Fireworks
Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum

… and of course, whatever mascara is in my current rotation. Right now it’s Clinique High Definition.

Jennie Avatar

Wow, that Creator nail varnish is amazing! Christine, do you happen to know of any black nail polish that has black glitter? I’m on a quest to find some…not going well so far.

Dusty Avatar

Leaving out skincare (which is HARD!)

1. Estée Lauder’s Beauty Benefit Cream OR Estée Lauder’s Re-Nutriv Concealer (depending on how I’m feeling that day)
2. MAC’s Brow Set in Beguile
3. Guerlain’s Shine Automatique in #201

Those are my essentials. That’s difficult to do (I STILL feel like I broke the rules and wrote four! LOL!) I want to steal – er – I mean “pay homage” to this and make a video post about it 🙂

Maria Avatar

1-Face and Body Make Up Forever
2-Terracota Guerlain
3-Gel Liner Bobbi Brown
You are really lucky girls!, you can use a lot of products we haven´t in Spain…

Sunny Avatar

Chanel Rose Initiale, Guerlain Gracy Rouge G, and GA ETA #14 (though this has been a must-have ever since I laid my hands on it several months ago. Says A LOT considering how much stuff I own)!

Chiara Avatar

Since I’m having a major cystic breakout right now, I’d say my Epiduo cream, Salicylic acid 300 and MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, which I use as a concealer.

Ryou Avatar

Epically Epic lip balm, Steam Cream, and Dollywink liquid eyeliner.

Anyway, I remember way back when you first reviewed the MUFE HD foundation, you used shade 140, but on the recent videos it was listed as 125. How would you say the two shades compare, Christine?

Christine Avatar

Lighter, and the undertone in 125 seems to suit me better. 125 is a smidgen too light right now, but once I powder with Guerlain Les Voilettes, it’s great. 140 I think runs a little yellow on me – I am yellow undertoned, but on a 1-5 scale of 5 = strong yellow undertones, I’m maybe a 2-3.

Ryou Avatar

Thank you for the reply! I got a sample of the 140 around last year, and I thought it was a bit too dark on me. I’m around your coloring, although I think I’m a teensy bit lighter and have a slightly more neutral undertone (I’m undecided on this), so knowing what shades you wear definitely helps! Thank you! 😀

KK Avatar

Ole Henriksen’s Enlighten Me Kit (does that count? because it has 3 products in it!), Korres Jasmine Lip Butter, and Nubian Heritage African Black Soap body lotion (it calms my eczema and moistuizes like NO OTHER). None are really makeup related, I’m on a mission lately to make my skin look the best that it can look without makeup on it!

Jillian Avatar

This question is perfect for me, because I have only been wearing 3 products for the past few weeks!!

1) UD Underground eyeliner (I line both the upper and lower lashlines)
2) Lancome Hypnose mascara
3) Tarte Exposed blush

It’s a super natural, easy look – it’s become my everyday look!

GUSnail Avatar

1-BB Oil free TM

2-MAC Blot powder

3-Undereye concealer (either BB Corrector or MUFE HD concealer)

Though I usually do wear more than this, if these things are on, I feel comfortable.

Dinitchka Avatar

1) ELF angled eyeliner brush (for cleaning up nail polish and polish mistakes)
2) baby wipes (to remove make-up)
3) Tosca Taming balm (for my curly hair)

Lauren Avatar

(1) Smashbox BB cream – coverage is medium, it feels like I have nothing on, and it has SPF 35.
(2) Urban Decay Naked Palette – I love variety but if I were stranded on a desert island with only 1 eyeshadow palette, that would be the one I’d want.
(3)Tarte Blush in Glisten.

Veronica Avatar

Sonia Kashuk tinted moisturizer, L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes, Benefit Bella Bamba blush

Granted, I rotate everything fairly regularly in my collection – these three have just been on the receiving end of a lot of mileage right now.

Wwendalynne Avatar

Does this include skincare? Because if it does, all three would be skincare products: The Sisleya range of Sisley products.

For just makeup products this is a really tough question:
1. Illamasqua brow cake
2. Tom Ford Platinum cream colour
3. Tom Ford Frantic Pink blush

Angie Avatar

My Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzing make-up base (bronze universal)
My Tarina Tarantino Dollskin blush palette
and…. this is hard…
Tie between my Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and the Colorstay whipped foundation =)

dtan0914 Avatar

Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup in No. 4, I use one pump for medium coverage and two pumps for full. Perfect shade match for me!
Smashbox Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Eyeshadow in Stone, beautiful color and this stuff really lasts. I love to enhance the look by layering powder eyeshadows on top!
Too Faced The Return of Sexy Eye Shadow Palette, very versatile for day and night time looks. Definitely one of the only eyeshadow palettes I truly need in my life!

Yumi Avatar

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunscreen
Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders

My skin care basics! Always have these on before attempting any make up, if at all!

Jen Avatar

I love MUFE HD Foundation, feels so lightweight on my skin. I think it looks fine in person, and you never know when you decide to go out after work and pics are taken, lol.

UD 24/7 liner in Perversion (soo much better than Zero, and goes on much more smoothly)

Blush (can’t decide really which one, but been using NARS Orgasm a lot this summer and just recently started using MAC Supercontinental.)

Suzanne Avatar

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara (it’s the best mascara I have EVER tried, and it’s $2!), Nars Liberté blush, and MAC Sun Dipped Pro Longwear bronzer (from Hey Sailor).

blueraccoon Avatar

Laura Mercier TM creme compact, Burberry Peony blush, and lately one of my Dior Addict Extreme lipsticks (currently Avenue). This my standard go-to makeup look these days.

Grace Avatar

Urban Decay Secret Service eyeshadow – I use it for my eyebrows
Benefit Bad Gal lash – I’ve tried other mascaras but always come back to this
Sephora Supreme Cleansing Foam – Best makeup remover I’ve found for the money

Kafka Avatar

I’m assuming this doesn’t relate to skin care or beauty “tools” like primer but actual makeup. (If one considered things like primer, NARS’ Smudgeproof would be #1 on the list!) Anyway, for pure makeup makeup, my 3 would be:
1- NARS Sheer Glow foundation in Punjab
2- NARS Copacabana Multiple
3- YSL matte black eyeshadow (liner, eyebrows, edges of the eyes, etc.)

blueraccoon Avatar

I keep meaning to pick up the Copacabana multiple and forgetting! I’ll be at the mall this week to buy my new computer (!!) so maybe I’ll drop into Sephora. Would you recommend Copacabana over Luxor for someone with my fair skintone?

Kafka Avatar

Hmm, really hard question, sweetpea, given my singular love for Copacabana. That said, probably the Luxor for you. My sister who is the POLAR opposite of me in style (subtle, subdued, sheer, understated colours!) and skin tone (extraordinarily pale, pale, pale olive but with some slight pink too!) went simply nuts for the Luxor. Nuts. She loved how subtle and delicate it was on her, and she asked me to order one for her *immediately* (which I did, though I ended up giving to her as a present). She was nowhere as keen on the Copacabana which, in Multiple form, is considerably more champagne than the pink it has in the Illuminator form. Me, I love the Copacabana like nothing else! The Luxor barely registers on my skin (though, one has to give it props for subtlety on ALL skin tones, I suppose). Given your perfect Snow White complexion, I think the Luxor may be a better fit for you.

Aida Avatar

1) Bare Escentuals READY foundation. For me it’s like hitting the jackpot, I love the look of this of my skin. But, because I could really get away without foundation on most days, I’ll take the liberty of adding a fourth product to my list *wink*.
2) Tarte Maracuja oil concealer, my HG for my dark circles. I could not skip concealer and this one is amazing.
3) Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara (the best I’ve ever used).
4) Burberry eye shadow in Midnight Brown. I love all my Burberry shadows (I have only 5), but if I had to pick one, it would be Midnight Brown, as I could wear it every single day and not get bored :).

Kathleen Avatar

1) benefit badgal lash- HG day mascara
2) kat Von d liquid lipstick in Backstage Bambi- I love this, surprisingly! 95% transfer proof and lasts a long time without being drying!!
3) Naked 2 palette- Some of the shades in the OG Naked look muddy on me!

Miss J Avatar

1. Hourglass No. 28 Primer – I had put NARS Sheer Glow here first, but then realized my foundation would skin would not feel and my face makeup would not look nearly as a good without this product.

2. NARS Sin – I have been picking this probably about 4 out of 7 days in a week.

3. Maybelline Mega Plush Waterproof – I use this as a base mascara to layer other mascaras over, and it holds my curl like nothing else.

Carmen Avatar

1. Nars Gina Blush (about the only blush I reach for consistently and I have 10 nars blushes!!)

2. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h foundation! My HG foundation perfect shade perfect match perfect undertone everything is perfect! Been through 3 bottles since it debuted! O_o !!

3. Mac Improper Copper cream color base. The perfect highlighter i’m in love <3

Maryrose Avatar

1. Too Faced Naked Eye palette- love!
2. NYX creme blush in Natural
3. Philosophy Take a Deep Breath moisturizer- best moisturizer for dry sensitive skin I have ever tried.

Titi King Avatar

1. BRTC water fuse bb cream SPF28, love this more than dr jart+ detox one

2. Paul & Joe creamy powder foundation

3. Alison raffaele blush gel stick in playful. Simply look best and much much better than tarte’s

Quinctia Avatar

Liquid liners! – Mainly UD’s, but Nyx has just released a similar product which I got in a champagne shade UD hasn’t made.

Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Bronzer in Vegas – Bronzer + Highlight in one pan for me.

Guerlain Rouge Automatique #160 – It’s neutral enough to go with a lot of things.

Tigerlily Avatar

In no particular order!
> Lancôme Definicils (in black), my HG everyday mascara
> MAC lingering brows pencil
> Lush pigment in Believe (coral), used as a blush

Nikki Avatar

In no particular order:

– MUFE Face & Body Foundation (LOVE THIS STUFF!!!)
– MAC Spice Lipglass
– La Femme Blush on Rouge Palette Lab (I need options!)

Ashley Avatar

1. Revlon 3D Mascara —> great alternative to Benefit’s They’re Real!
2. MAC Select Cover Up Concealer (NC45)
3. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (Cadiz)

Anne Avatar

Going just by what I’ve been wearing a lot of lately, it would have to be:

NYX Lip Cream in Sao Paulo (actually, they call it SAN Paulo, but that’s wrong :))
Stila Smudge Stick in Peacock
ColoreScience Menerils Face Primer (my dermatologist sold it to me)

Mariela B Avatar

What are your top three must-have beauty products right now?

1. Maybelline Define A brow. (It’s just a great mechanic pencil easy to use and quick for filling out the eyebrows) I use it in Soft black
2. Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 (Perfect for everything, natural shades and dark for any ocassion)
3. MAC Star Wonder MSF from the Heavenly Creatures Coll, July12. (3 in 1 product blush, eyeshadow & highlight, I love it).

Xaris Villa Avatar

After much deliberation, I have chosen:

– Vichy Dermablend Foundation – i can sheer it out if I need… and can double as concealer ^_^
– Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes in BLACK – I need eyeliner and if
– Mac’s Lovelorn Lipstick

Now, let me just lay down – that shebang was stressful (T^T)

Cinderella Avatar

Tom Ford Molton Cream Eyeshadow in Platinum (I’ll cry when I eventually empty the pot, it’s amazing).
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10
Clarins Instant Light Blush
