What are your go-to scents for summer?

What are your go-to scents for summer? Share!

I often just wear what I like, haha, so my usual staples like Tom Ford Amber Absolute/Oud Wood, but I have been wearing Tom Ford Noir and Noir Extreme as well. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino is the closest I get to “summer” type scents.

So far, it’s still Fresh Life. I really need something of that sort with our extremely hot summers; 5 months of just about every single day 100° and over. So I stick with that most days because it’s citrusy and just enough to keep b.o.away! Some days I go with using Juicy Couture Couture because it smells delish and yet sophisticated?

If you love neroli-based scents, I highly recommend L’eau de Neroli by Diptyque! I highly recommend Diptyque in general–their scents are very fresh and high quality. Another great Tom Ford is Jasmin Rouge and Azure Lime, though I think of Jasmin as something for fall.

Kat Avatar

I love Diptyque! Too pricey for me, but my mom used to love their fig-scented candles but they’re just so expensive so I got her one for her birthday. All there scents are unique and distinctive, but always classy.

I’ve only recently bought perfumes for myself, never really thought about them before, but I recently got Vanille Coco from Sud Pacifique and I’m addicted to the scent. It lasts all day and I feel like a tropical princess wearing it!

I’m a Bath and Body Works junkie (but I’ve calmed down now). I have so many body splashes that it could last me for 2 years. During the summer, I’m a gal who likes her coconut scents.
• Coconut Vanilla • Creamy Coconut
• Exotic Coconut • Coconut Lime Verbena

But if I wear perfume, my favorite summer scent is Kate Spade’s Live Color Fully. That scent just screams summer fun in the sun.

Tom Ford Neroli reminds me of this scent that is manufactured in Hong Kong….a cheap version. It is like fragrance water where you splatter on a hot summer humid day to cool you off.

Tessa Avatar

Hermes Le Jardin Sur Le Nil! It’s my all time top favorite fragrance, but especially for summer.

Also in heavy use this summer: Dior Pure Poison, Atelier Orange Sanguine, Hermes Eau de Merveille.

My summer favorite last year was Bvlgari Omnia Coral, but somehow I’m finding its sweetness a little too cloying lately.

Christy Avatar

Sur Le Nil is WONDERFUL, and I’m so sad that it doesn’t last on me! I would wear it constantly if I could get it to stick around–I don’t know anyone else who has that issue with it, though. Orange Sanguine is amazing for summer, too!

Tessa Avatar

Have you tried it in your hair? A little goes a long way, and it lasts (more “true to scent” for me, too) a lot longer!

I tend to spray the teensiest bit on a chunk/strand (toward the end of the hair shaft, because if the perfume’s alcohol is going to dry it out, I might as well sacrifice ends I’ll trim soon, anyway).

I don’t really have seasonal scents. I like what I like and I wear it year round. That would include Gucci Flora, Chloe, and Carven just to name a few. I love a good clean scent.

Deidre Avatar

I don’t have summer/winter scents.
But everyday to work I wear Dior Blooming Bouquet. On days off or weekends I wear Miss Dior or Dolce & Gabbana Floral Drops.

I generally wear what I like, but when it’s hot, I gravitate towards Dolce by D&G, Repetto, Tory Burch, and I always wear Chanel Chance (all-time favorite) and now Chanel Chance Eau Vive. I also always wear Burberry Brit because that’s my husband’s favorite.

I save Illamasqua Freak and Nest Midnight Fleur for cooler weather. They are very heavy, spicy florals!

My go-to is Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Toit! Other faves are Body Shop Coconut, Chloe L’eau de Chloe, LL Elle L’aime, Guerlain AA Flora Nymphae, TM Womanity, Agonist Vanilla Marble, L’occitane Neroli and Orchidee, and many more. I love summery fragrances the most out of my collection!

Tessa Avatar

My linen closet gets a good spray of Sur le Toit every now and then, especially in the corners! The rest of the house may be chaotic, cat and dogs and humans running amok… but when I open that door to grab a fresh towel? Heaven, I tell you.

I have a collection of perfumes – so I pretty much use whatever catches my fancy at that moment. However, if i was to look for a fragrance which reminded me categorically of summer or spring – it would be Clinique Calyx. Its the fragrance of freshly cut grass with rain falling….

Anne Avatar

I don’t have a huge budget for perfumes, so I just have two for year-round, one daytime and one nighttime. When I run out I then decided if my tastes have changed or not and get another day/night perfume or stick with the one I was previously using. Currently my daytime one is Jo Malone’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt (my all time favorite!) which I feel like can pretty much be worn year round. Same goes for my evening perfume, which is L’Occitane’s Ambre & Santal (Amber and Sandalwood). It’s definitely a more woodsy, musky scent, and I kind of feel like both could be unisex (I tend to prefer those types of scents anyways).

txabela Avatar

It is citrus or figs for me in the summer. I rotate these:
-Jo Malone Mandarin, Lime and Basil
-Dior Escale a Portofino
-D&G Light blue
-Fico di Amalfi by Acqua di Parma

Angela Avatar

I don’t change fragrance seasonally but go lighter so rather than layer body lotion/cream under perfume I will use one or the other during the hot and humid days. My standards are: Sisley “Eau de Soir”, Creed “Fleurissimo” and Hermes ” Caleche” ( thought they no longer make the body cream…boo-hoo)

Kat Avatar

I actually only have one full sized bottle of Guerlain Petit Robe Noir, which I never ever use, and one rollerball of Fresh Brown Sugar, which I love. So if I wear perfume, it’s usually the Brown Sugar regardless of the season, but it never lasts as long as I’d like. On a related note (pun intended), if anyone knows of a similar scent that’s more long wearing than Brown Sugar, I’d love to hear of it!

Christy Avatar

My summer favorites are:
– Vero Profumo Mito edp is to die for — magnolia, green citrus, galbanum, cypress, stone — green, lightly floral, cooling, and long-lasting
– Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine — photorealistic blood orange
– Serge Lutens Fleurs de Citronnier — lemon blossom
– Ormonde Jayne Frangipani — frangipani and lime
– Parfums de Nicolai L’eau chic — geranium, musks (like “fancy soap” says my daughter)
– Parfums de Nicolai Musc Monoi — tiare, coconut, musk
– l’Artisan l’Ete en Douce — linden, hay

Vanessa Avatar

I wear whatever scent I’m in the mood no matter the season, but I’m super picky with perfumes! 90% of the ones I’ve tried I don’t like. It’s extremely rare that I actually like any scents with vanilla, heavy/warm musk, or spice in it. The ones I do like are:
-Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
-Roses de Chloe
-Beautiful Day (Bath & Body Works)
-Versace Bright Crystal
-Jimmy Choo Blossom
-Ed Hardy Hearts & Daggers
-Sweet Pea (Bath & Body Works)
-Mad About You (Bath & Body Works)
I know there are a few more scents from Bath & Body Works that I liked, but I can’t remember.

I’m obsessing over Margiela’s Beach Walk and if the “out of stock” status at Sephora is any indication so are many other women. I also love EL Bronze Goddess, Dolce Gabbana Light Blue, MAC Turquatic Heat, Clinique Happy. An old, discontinued fave is Ralph Lauren Blue. I wore it on my wedding day, I was a June bride.

Susan Avatar

I love a good lavender scent in summer. I also love White Wood by either Clean or Fresh. I can never remember to manufacturer. I also love Prada d’Iris and Donna Karan Cashmere. Hard to choose. I’m as bad in Winter. It may be the crazy northern Ohio weather. A simple favorite all year round is Nantucket Briar, not fancy but comforting.

txabela Avatar

It is back! Clinique are selling it now. I have sniffed it today for the first time at a Boots counter. Nice but maybe my expectations were too high as I didn’t find it thaaat special. I will try it again though.

I love estee Lauder Bronze Godess… the scent and the glitter spray>>> but boy does the scent not last long…. I spray liberally and the scent seems to be gone within an hour!!!!!

WildDove Avatar

Scents that have gotten the most play with me this summer have been: TF Jasmin Rouge, JM Wood Sage & Sea Salt, JM Earl Grey & Cucumber, TBS Moringa.

FUCHESS Avatar

Lol, I’m old school, I like White Linen, but, I also love,Candy and also Alien, Angel and Ellen Tracy…plus a few others! I love lighter, flower-ly, scents in the summer, but any thing goes for night time…:-)
