When using one palette for a look, I’ll sometimes dip into another to get a particular shade, but I don’t really have any real pairings. The closest thing to pairing palettes that I do is to pair the Kaja Chocolate Dahlia trio with Colourpop’s monochrome palettes (Blue Moon, It’s My Pleasure, etc.) because I prefer a neutral eye with pops of color. My favorite way to do this is to use the lighter matte brown in the Kaja trio as a crease/transition shade, then use shades from the CP monochrome palette on my lid and outer V.

I tend not to combine palettes. That might seem strange but since I use, at the very most, 3 shadows in a look (more likely 2), and because I have a limited area to lay stuff out, I like a palette to have everything I need in the 1 “package”. And I guess that’s my gripe with some of my favourite palettes – I still need to grab another palette/quad or single for a “missing” shade.

I don’t tend to pair specific palettes. However, I’m wanting the new ABH Jackie Aina Palette in part to part to pair with Norvina. Some pairing I do like to use:

*UD Electric + Coloured Raine Vivid Pigment Bundle
*UD Electric + Sleek iDivine Acid Palette
*ABH Subculture + ABH Prism
*NYX Ultimate Palette in Brights + Too Faced Chocolate Bar (common travel combo for me)
*ABH Glow Kit in Moon Child + Tarte Pin-Up Girl Blush Palette (cheeks, obviously)

I have several palettes that are favorites to use with any palette that is lacking a full shade and/or finish range:
*ABH Modern Renaissance
*UD Electric
*UD Moondust
*Violet Voss The Rainbow Palette
*ColourPop My Little Pony
*NYX Ultimate Palette in Brights
*ABH Glow Kit in Moon Child (as eyeshadows)
*Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette
*Jouer Skinny Dip Ultra Foil Shimmer Shadows Palette
*NARS NARSissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette
*BH Cosmetics Modern Mattes
*Tarte Tartelette
*UD Naked Ultimate Basics
*UD Naked Basics
*My custom palette of bright, matte Coastal Scents Hot Pots
*My custom palette of Looxi Beauty Aurora Shadows
*My custom palette of NYX Prismatic Shadows

Melt Gemini + Melt Smoke Sessions, because the only thing better than one green palette is TWO green palettes.

Otherwise, I don’t think I specifically reach for the same combos of palettes over and over again. I do combine palettes but it’s highly dependent on what look I’m going for that day. Some of the palettes that I frequently reach for to combine with whatever else I’m using are the KvD Monarch palette, the Viseart Theory palette in Chroma, and the PatMcGrath Bronze Ambition — basically I have certain neutrals that I just love to pair with whatever colors I’m using.

About the only pairings that I do routinely is to take a nude palette that works well for me and add another palette to get a pop of colour or to add depth/transition to my look. In particular I usually use the Pony Glam palette and/or Too Faced Natural Eyes palette, (an oldie but a goodie). A lot of the time a particular palette will not have a light enough matte brow bone shade or a good transition shade that suits the look I am going for so that is my usual reason to pair palettes.

Oh, I forgot to mention probably my main palette pairing and that is when I am “stealing” someone else looks, like you Christine. I steal a lot of your looks because I love your shadow pairings so I have actually purchased a few shadows just to steal your look! I also do that with Tara and Allana on YT.

1) Pat McGrath La Vie en Rose + Pat McGrath Subversive
2) Pat McGrath La Vie en Rose + Natasha Denona Lila Mini

I combine most of my palettes with my singles (almost all Colourpop or Sydney Grace), but these are the few palettes I actually pair together. I love my smoky purple looks!

I really don’t pair palettes, but I do keep a CP palette of single shades on my vanity that has everything I might need should a palette I’m using need something. My most used shades in there are Paper Tiger, and a dark brown that I forget the name of and I’m not home to look.

So my homemade CP palette (about half neutrals and half colors) plus any other palette that needs support. I did just pull it out this weekend when I used the Morphe X Jeffree Star palette for the first time and was doing a soft pink look. There was a rosy brown in my CP palette that just worked with the rest.

Due to having a lot of my palettes being put away for lack of space and wanting to be organized, I don’t do pairings or dab into other palettes unless I have lots of time to do a look. If I had more space and a large drawer area or pull out drawers as in a map drawer, I’d definitely organize my palettes with the idea of those I use most being together and then those I use most with certain ones, etc.

As a couple of others have said, for now I tend to use my newest palette and only add in a missing shade or two (which usually is a matte highlight for the brow or matte lid transition-base color).

Natasha Deanna Sunrise + Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts
ABH Subculture + Viseart Dark Matte
Sugarpill Fun Sized + Too Faced Life’s a Festival
I often use Pat’s mattes with shimmers from other palettes, unpopular opinion, but I really like her mattes
