Tabac from Westman atelier. I have been disappointed in all the other shades. But use the others in the day palette as primers. Heartdog from on the horizon palette. Spot from Biba when I am feeling a bit edgy. I prefer having color on the outer v or my bottom lashes only. It’s a great trick for mature eyes.
Do you find the Westman products in general worth the cost? I was surprised at the price point, to tell the truth.
At the price I’m sorry you are disappointed.
With strong hoods and textured lids, I find one & done gradient is always my starting and often ending point , but 9 times out of 10…matte. Reds, oranges, & rose favour my brand of hazel eyes best
Sydney Grace – Trust – makes my eyes ridiculously pop. I wear this more than any other shadow listed
Sydney Grace – Lords a Leaping or Adore me for deeper or midtone rose
Natasha Denona – Pasha or Buff (Biba) – the originals and still going strong
Natasha Denona – Mindful (Zendo) – one shimmer I can do as one & done
Natasha Denono – Phoenix (I cheat and add Electra because they look so awesome together) (new Star)
Hi Wednesday,
That’s interesting about using Phoenix and Electra together. They always looked similar in pan so I would use just use Phoenix. Will have to try that.
Anything from Buxom! Mink Magnet is a big fave.
Mink Magnet is a beauty….I need to get my Buxom shadows out and use them more often. Sephora only has a very small selection of Buxom eye products (one or two palettes, I think, and none of the singles) which is a shame as I used to love purchasing the singles to make my own “custom” palettes.
Sponsored from the Jackie Aina ABH palette is my favorite.
Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. I choose one color and blend it into the crease. I also use it as eyeliner. Takes a minute to apply and stays perfect all day long. Favorite shades: Amethyst, Burnished Bronze, Au Naturel, Cobblestone, and Violet. Caviar Sticks are the only eyeshadows I use these days.
Colourpop Ritz, Tea Party or Party of Five; MAC Foiled Eyeshadow in Monaco-co or Sand Tropez, Stila Shimmer & Glow in Jezebel, Estée Lauder X Victoria Beckham in Bitter Clove, MAC Woodwinked
Chantecaille’s luminescent shadows in Rhino (olive green), Crane (burgundy), and Pangolin (lavender).
So many, since “one and done” is my style and suits my lifestyle. Currently, Marc Jacobs BravO!, Dior’s New Look #4, Nars Old Church Street (left side/#1), UD Casterly Rock, and ABH Chiffon or Chocolate Crumble. Most are fairly similar type shades and work really well without a lot of fuss.
ABH Incense or Volatile in the crease, depending on how warm or cool my outfit is. Sydney Grace Deep Water worn thin along the upper lashline with navy outfits.
Something in a mauvy rose. I rotate between the lighter shimmer shades in Fenty’s Cool Neutrals snap palette, ColourPop Big Moves from the Moving Mauves palette, Anastasia Beverly Hills Buon Fresco, and Sydney Grace’s Winter Garden. Cool mauvy roses are just my color, and more often than not I’m wearing it on eyes, cheeks and lips.
Not just current, but all time favorite: MAC Satin Taupe.
Pat McGrath Ultrasuede Brown (from the brown kit)
Victoria Beckham Mink
Suqqu Glow Touch Eyes (liquid shadows)
Due to me having very hooded, puffy lids, the only one and done eyeshadows I can do are matte eyeshadows that I generally use as transition shades: MAC Kid, Soft Brown or something from CP Going Coconuts or Yes, Please. MAC Satin Taupe can do it if I blend some Haux into the crease
The one & done looks you posted from the Sydney Grace x Temptalia palette! So fast, pretty and last all day!
<3
Pat McGrath Statuesque.. Honestly any of the matte browns from any of her palettes or any of the shimmer bronze/browns.
Mac Honesty, Saddle, Interrupted, Woodwinked, loose pigment in Naked
Does of Colors Heart of Gold- any of their Block Party eye shadows
ND Biba or Gold Palette- just about any of the mattes
I would LOVE to see your one and done look with this eyeshadow. Can you please show us? In fact, I would LOVE and be so appreciative to see more one and done eyeshadow looks.
Please show us this one and done!
I did! They are in my looks section of my profile!
Phosphenes!!! (SG x Temptalia)
Also Frappe from the Coffee Talk light palette (SG)
Phosphenes is a beauty!
There are quite a few one and done eyeshadows that I use – mostly neutral shades. These are:
SG – Magellan’s Light and SG – Earthbound from the Horizon palette; UD Smog, Toasted or YDK from the Nakeds 1 & 2 palettes, City Color Sandstorm or All Eyes on Me and some of the gold/bronze shades from Pixi Beauty’s Reflex Light palette.
A spot of olive green shades never goes astray on me and it is usually the one from Chanel’s Tisse D’Automne.
So glad you are enjoying On the Horizon, Genevieve <3
Everything in the Viseart Coy Palette, except Wink/#4 and # MAC Bronzing Foiled Shadow in Tide and Seek. All the shimmery shades in the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Vol. 1 and Vol. 3 (my go-tos for too hot summer days).
Charlotte tilbury Marie Antoinette (renamed oyster something) it’s absolutely perfect flattering taupey cream eyeshadow shade
Mac Satin Taupe.
Definitely Satin Taupe by MAC
For me it is any great deep blue or blue based purple. Against my skin tone, these are amazing. Lately for me, its been all about Sydney Grace with these (Deep Water, Our Starry Night, Calming Presence, and Celestial Bloom). I also use Sephora’s Astral Blue. These blue/purple shade just make me feel like a queen.
Great picks 😉
Love that blue/purple are your go-tos for one and done!
Anything shimmery and not too dark. I think the last one and done was Dear Reader.
I have really hooded eyes, so I need lightness and shimmer for my moveable lids to show up. For me the only thing that would help is surgery. I don’t know how many tutorials I have watched, but as my hoods are sort of baggy, the tutorials doesn’t work. Anyway, light shimmers for me.
Hi Helene,
I also have really hooded eyes too, and surgery is really the only thing that would help them. However, I did find BrittanyNichole on Youtube, who also has has the really hooded eye’s like mine. And, I’ve started to use her technique which is working for me and super easy. Maybe her videos will help you too!
I also love one and done shimmery or satin shadows!
Thanks! I’ll check her out.
I’m a bit scared of surgery, but I think I’ll need to get the hoods fixed as they actually block the vision a bit on my right eye.
I had pretty much quit wearing eyeshadow. Then your shadows came out. Phoenix Awakens is my favorite one and done. It’s absolutely gorgeous and makes my blue eyes pop.
Aww!! 💕
I can’t say I have a favorite, because just about any eyeshadow becomes a one-and-done if I’m not in the mood to do a more complex eye look. In practice, though, the last true one-and-done I wore was KVD Melanie 2 weeks ago. This past Monday I wore just a hot pink lid to work (the look I was doing called for a black crease and undereye, but I thought that seemed a little crazy for a boring Monday shift), so I just did the hot pink lid by layering 3 UD pinks on top of each other-Savage, Hell Ride, and Warning.
Same old disclaimer on UD Savage-it uses a red pigment the FDA has never tested but the EU deemed safe, so use with caution or avoid if you have sensitive eyes or your lids are prone to staining.
What’s a one-and-done??? Ha! Never for me.
Hi Jane! (I’m a Jane too, it’s my middle name!). One and done??? Only when the hubby is standing there saying “let’s go!!” and if he turns his back and I get a second I add more; there are too many pretties to not add another, and another, and another, and another…..
April
LOL – Too true April!
