3 Must have Travel Products:
A good mask- loving the Charcoal ones to unclog my pores.
Lip Balm- love the one by GlamGlow (it’s a duo, but I will count it as one)
sunscreen- love the one by tarte.

Powder (Hourglass Ambient Light or Bare Escentuals powder foundation), mascara, and the 8 lipsticks that I always seem to have floating around in my purse despite my best efforts to be more minimal.

I just cant go anywhere without my clinique face cleanser and moisturizer ,they are giving me life and also I have to carry a lip balm , highlighter(mostly mary lou) , mascara and an eyeshadow palette (mostly smashbox full exposure)

Sunscreen (La Roche Posay 60 SPF)

Powder foundation (Amaterasu/Geisha Ink or MAC Studio Fix)

Eyeliner (Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blacquer)

[Lipstick is always in my purse/pockets/car/carry on so I won’t count that as something I actually pack]

Concealer, Mattifying powder for sure. Gotta look fresh and awake, and keep the good ol oily skin under control.

And I’m stuck between A bright lipstick, or mascara!! Both I think are important,

As I have small almond-y eyes that need concealer and mascara to look wider and awake.

But I don’t feel ME until I smooth on some bright red, pink, or purple lipstick!! 😀

No makeup products are a must for me, but I have to have some form of face cleanser, moisturizer, and an SPF (especially since I’m on lots of NSAIDs with can make you crazy sensitive to sun damage, as I found out when I drove down the UCSF med center the summer and basically got what felt like poison ivy rash but was just an allergic reaction to the sun…).

I suppose if I was going somewhere really nice, like to a wedding or something, the three musts would be some form of BB cream, a cream/stick eyeshadow and a blush (preferably in a palette with a highlighter and a bronzer).

Only 3 products, omg… let’s be minimalist.
– Mascara
– Lipstick
– Bronzer/Highlight/Blush palette (love the By Terry Sun designer palette)

I would like to take my foundation, but as I don’t wear it every day anyway, I can totally skip it.

Bronzer/Highlight/Blush on bare face is a nice way to look natural but better, especially in summer.

And of course I bring deodorant and face wash. Those are a given. It is about looking at your collection and thinking about what three things, beauty related, that you’d be lost without. Yes hard to narrow down to three but I can do it…

The TOP 3 are moisturizer, foundation, and mascara. But my bare face also includes a sheer lipstick and sheer blush. Traveling means leaving the house so actually, most of the time, I’ll do a full made-up face. It’s a 5-minute routine but I have full color on lol.

I can’t do only three. Even if on vacation where most minimal is ok, I have to have foundation, an eyeshadow, an eyebrow pencil, mascara, concealer, and tinted lip balm. It’s for the greater good that I’m not out in society will less than this.

Three? Really, is this a joke? Or does it mean “three products you ALWAYS take with you when you travel” (in addition to stuff like toothpaste and deodorant, face cleanser, etc.?). It would be a bit less painful to have to narrow it down to 5 and even that would be challenging. This is agony but the 3 things I’d never travel without: eyeshadow primer, concealer and blush. Or…eyeliner, tinted Clarins lipgloss, concealer…

Chris Avatar

Just 3? Definitely makeup remover (Bi-Facil), my makeup brushes & usually some sort of eyeshadow palette (Buxom, Urban Decay or Lancôme).

Paulina Avatar

I definitely travel with more than three products… I can’t help it! But My top 3 would be bb cream (UD’s One and Done), mascara, lip balm. I always take my skin care products along with me too… when I miss a day or two my skin shows it and it’s not good!

Foundation (CT Light Wonder or Lancome Teint Idole), mascara, and lipstick (though I’m sure concealer/ corrector would slip in.) ☺️

considering only color cosmetics…foundation, blush, lipstick
I cannot include skin care in this lol I have minimum 5 products for skin care routine

My travel staples are a small face palette (bronzer, blush, highlighter, mirror) and any eyeshadow palette I like (not too expensive but good quality, big variety and mirror). As third I would add my makeup bag, my recent favourite has two see-through compartments, I use one for face and one for eye products and brushes. This keeps me organized and allows to do my makeup no matter what are the mirror-window-lightning-table circumstances at the hotel.

Talya Avatar

Lip balm!!! Always. I have to have it on me at all times — I keep one in my jacket, my school bag, you name it. It sucks, but I get really uncomfortable when my lips feel chapped lol. Also whatever brow product I’m into at the time & my ABH #14 brush to use it. (I generally use pomades/products like MUFE aqua brow because they tend to last longer.) I guess that’s technically three with the brush, but I’ll pretend like it’s two and also say some form of foundation/concealer so I can cover up any surprise blemishes. Travel/temperature changes tend to stress my skin out, as annoying as that is.

Blistex, Ahava hand lotion, and an awesome face moisturizer or mask (drunk elephant Lala cream and Sephora rose sheet mask). (Non-beauty items would be Henri Bendel Jetsetter backpack, pashmina, and noise-canceling headphones.) Love these polls!

Deborah S. Avatar

1. Foundation, Chosungah 22

2. A Bite Multistick for my blush, lipstick and potentially an eye shadow, probably the shade Mochi.

3. Cover Girl Lash Sensation Black mascara in the waterproof formula.

Now, that is for makeup, but my skin care….

Silvia Avatar

Oh! This is torture or very close to it! Lol!
I’ll say spf, a light foundation, mascara, blush, chapstick. If I may of course I’ll add at least two eyeshadow colors, at least 5 lipsticks, deodorant a must, shampoo/conditioner and some light oil as Moroccan oil for my wavy hair. Bronzer, eyeliner and highliter would be nice too? I’ll cut my own nails before a short trip or get a manicure, a tweezer is nice if is a long vacation (highly doubt it) so I’ll leave as much as possible at home. Always carry bandaids! I also love perfumed powder or simply baby powder for inside shoes to keep dry or even on body under armpits and a light perfume if any.

So, it was so “normalizing” to come back here to read others’ replies and see so many others say “Only THREE???” or variations on that sentiment. In other circles, many people would have no problem with 3 but here…. It’s like the questions about “favourite e/s palette” or “top 3 e/s palettes” – for a lot here, it’s a tough question to answer but I’m sure there are many people out there who only have 1 or maybe 3 eyeshadow palettes in total!
