Wet ‘n’ Wild I’m Feeling Retro Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio
Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio: I’m Feeling Retro
Wet ‘n’ Wild I’m Feeling Retro Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.12 oz.) is a mix of bright pops of color and a softer brow bone shade… that actually makes sense! The brow bone shade is a pale white with a frosted finish–it’s a touch sheer. The crease shade is a moody medium-dark blue with a frost finish. The eyelid shade is a fuchsia-purple with a pink iridescence/duochrome–think shades like MAC Stars ‘n Rockets and Urban Decay’s Fishnet.
my thoughts on the formula: Color Icon Eyeshadows are definitely some of the best eyeshadows you’ll find in the drugstore, and this trio is well-pigmented, smooth to the touch, and the colors themselves performed well in a wear test–easy to apply and blend while lasting the eight hours I wore it for (without any fading that I could see). The brow bone shade wasn’t quite as pigmented as the other two shades but I wouldn’t say it’s sheer (decent but not good, you know?).

Thanks!!!
Just bought it last night on sale for $1.49 in my local drugstore!))) LOVE LOVE it !! 🙂
The WnW palettes are actually good for the price. I love this one. Best $3 spent!
hahaha french translation on this product is sooo bad xD
Haha that’s funny I never noticed that 😛
Oooh the swatches look like how I frequently do my eyes with UD Shattered, Asphyxia, and Vapor (w/ Electric 24/7 liner of course). Guess I’m heading on over to Walgreens tomorrow… 🙂
I noticed that as well! I’m not a huge bright eye shadow fan, but I might just purchase this one. Can’t beat the price 🙂
I can’t thank you enough for reviewing Wet and Wild! I wish I could afford Guerlain and Chanel but I lost my job in this recession and times are tough. Reviews like this that help me find stuff on a budget really make me happy! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Christine! And good luck with your last essay 🙂
The first thing I thought when I saw this was “clown colors” because of the cotton candy shades. Ehhh.
I purchased this palette and love it! I tend to layer the blue and fuchsia together to make a kind of duochrome purple that I really like and it similar to one Lorac recently came out with. Lovin’ me some WnW!
I just LOVE your blog. It’s one of the first few websites I check every day! You are an excellent writer, and all of your content is so well organized. thank you for bringing this to us!
Thank you, Michelle!
I own all the new palettes except for two of the 8 pans and OMG, the color payout is fantastic for “cheap” makeup.
I am so glad to see Wet N Wild reviews here, Christine! Thanks for including drugstore brands 🙂
I did a recent review on these and loved them all except this one. On my fair skin it was hard to see and not very pigmented at all which was a bummer cause i was really excited for the fuchsia color.
🙁
Oh I am SO buying this. Thanks for putting this up!!
Annnnd BOUGHT. Can’t wait to wear it!! 😀
My first eyeshadow that I EVER owned was a Blue and Purple matte Wet n’ Wild duo! This palette REALLY does make me feel “Retro” I’m getting this one A.S.A.P for old times sake!
I’m definitely going to keep my eye out for this!
I wore this today!! I luv this trio!!
i really regret spending so much money on UD and MAC eyeshadows now that all these new WnW eyeshadows are out!
I just got this but haven’t used it or opened yet, looks pretty!
I agree! WnW shadows are amongst the best drugstore shadows! Great swatches, I recently purchased this but have not tried it yet. 🙂
I really am impressed with the quality of the WnW Colour Icon shadows (singles and palettes). I’ve only discovered these in the last year or so. But the colours in this palette are ones I just don’t wear so I’ll be taking a pass on this one.
This line looks great. If I can find it at a store near me I’ll probably buy as many of the pallettes as I can
What MAC blue would be the closest to the WNW blue? I want to use what I already have. I have Pink Pearl and that is close enough to Stars and Rockets for me. Thank you!
Maybe Surreal or Steamy, though neither are that close, IMO. Steel Blue pigment would be closer!
got to get 🙂
I wish Wet ‘n’ Wild had been this good when I was in junior high!
The colors are so pretty! I’m glad to see a drugstore brand develop fun shades.
I just bought this one and the “sweet as candy” trio. Great product at such a low price. My first WnW purchase ever. I might be picking the others as well… Thank you for reviewing this Christine!
I just went out and bought this after reading the review 🙂 are you going to review the other WnW trios? I saw some others that I liked!
i have the shimmermoss and stars n rockets eyeshadow from mac….you have already mentioned that the purply-pinky shade looks like mac’s stars and rockets….but do you think the bluey-tealy color would be similar to shimmermoss???
It’s bluer!
yayyyy! i saw this review when you posted it and today i picked it up at walgreens! yayy, so pretty 🙂 thanks, christine!!
FYI, the pink in this palette is a really good dupe for MAC’s Swish. Maybe just a tiny bit darker, and actually more pigmented. It’s got the same purple-blue duo chrome.
I haven’t touched drug store makeup in years, not only because a lot of company’s are not cruelty free, but I never could get the end result I wanted. The brighter and crazier the color the better. I’m mostly a loose pigment eyeshadow wearer, but recently I’ve been buying cake shadows for those on-the-go days. After seeing these wet n’ wild swatches I decided to give them a try despite poor quality of a lot of their products. I picked up “I’m Feeling Retro”, ” I Got Good Jeans” and “I’m Getting Sunburned” . I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The frosted shades were soft and very pigmented. The crease shade in I’m Getting sunburned was very dark and sparkly, I loved it! I’ve been recommending it to my friends who are looking into playing with bright colors. And Wet n’ Wild are cruelty free! The only thing I noticed when I tested them on my hand is they wiped off easily so make sure to use a base 🙂
