Wet ‘n’ Wild Dragon Scales Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad ($2.99 for 0.16 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that features a warm, shimmery gold; soft, warm-toned brown; olive green; and deep forest green. I liked the color concept, though I was surprised to see how shimmery the “browbone” shade was–I think a satin or pearl finish would have worked out better to balance out the finishes in the quad. Though they did not wear great on me, they were fairly pigmented and easy to use, so if you’re someone who uses a primer normally, it might still be a good option.

Dragon Scales #1
Dragon Scales #1 is a light-medium brown with strong,w arm orange undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, moderately powdery texture that was prone to sheering out a bit on bare skin. It was improved over a primer, though it was a softer shade to use overall. It applied evenly and blended out nicely on my lid. The color lasted well for seven hours on me.

The formula is supposed to be "powerfully pigmented" with a "butter-soft" texture that "glides on like a dream." The majority of the eyeshadows are on the drier side, sometimes feeling loosely pressed and other times more chalk-like and truly dry to the point where a primer became a must for getting good adhesion and wear out of the formula. Most of the matte shades were quite pigmented, and I found they actually applied better to bare skin than some of the shimmers, which often appeared faded and muted in practice compared to how they appeared in the pan. The pigmentation varied from decent to mostly opaque depending on the shade, and the wear was typically between five and seven hours on me.
I did not keep most of the previously-released trios and palettes from the brand as mine, but when I compared 2018's formula to the prior one (and mine are likely five or more years old), the previous formula was far better for their shimmers--slightly more slip, creamier in feel, and typically more pigmented and true-to-color on the lid. I think the mattes, overall, are improved as they are more blendable and pigmented on the lid.

Dragon Scales #2
Dragon Scales #2 is a bright, golden beige with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was fantastic with opaque coverage in a single layer. The texture was smooth, dense but not firm, and blendable on my skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Dragon Scales #3 is a medium-dark green with soft, warm undertones and a pearl finish. The color coverage was opaque and adhered evenly to bare skin. The consistency was denser, firm but not stiff, and remained blendable on my lid. It stayed on well for seven hours before it started to fade on me.

Dragon Scales #4 is a medium, olive green with strong, warm unertones and a frosted finish. The color payoff was opaque, while the eyeshadow felt soft, slightly dusty, but blendable and was easy to apply to bare skin without losing intensity. This shade lasted nicely for seven hours on me.

I really like this color combination, but too much shimmer for me.
This reminds me a bit of a Smashbox Trio I got a while back – “Showmance”. This seems to have a similar vibe. Pretty colours for fall but not outstanding, which is a shame.
Since this is one of the pieces I have been most interested in, I am so happy to see that this did as well as it did! Yes, I’m ordering it!

This is a lovely little palette full of my favourite shades. Wet n’ Wild have done the olive greens really well and I like the colour combinations. This would be a good purchase for someone looking to add a couple of olives to their collection.

This is one of my favorite things from this collection. Kinda reminds me of the Comfort palette that I have and love. Still pissed that I couldn’t find anything in store from Wet&Wild”s Astrology collection! I had least wanted my sign’s lip gloss but not enough to order online and pay shipping .
I’ll have to check this out in store and see if it’s worth purchasing. I really like the colors, just hoping it’s better with primer.

The browbone looks too dark for me (to be fair, anything more than a few notches below white is too dark for this translucent gal), but overall I quite like this little guy and it’s the stand out for me among the eyeshadow palettes. Still have yet to see this collection in stores though, which sucks.
I agree. I’d probably use the browbone shade in the center of the lid for a halo eye effect.
