It doesn’t usually differ much, but if we’re doing something where I won’t have time to swap out lip colors easily (I like to remove the previous lip product entirely before applying another shade to test), I’ll reach for darker, longer-wearing lip colors to test instead.

I go out more at night on the weekend, so I tend to wear more of a smokey eye, and a soft lip, while during the week I tend to wear a bolder lip, and more of a neutral eye.
It doesn’t really differ in the sense that “Oh well, it’s the weekend and that’s the ideal for more makeup.” It just differs in the sense that… it’s whatever I’m in the mood for…?
I usually only go out in the evenings on weekends. So by day, there’s no difference. But weekend evenings, I usually wear heavier eye makeup and highlighter.
If I wear makeup at all in the weekdays, it’s definitely lighter and simpler. I have more time on the weekends to go bold.
I go out a lot more on the weekend, so my one shadow/lip balm looks are swapped with smokey eyes and maybe even lipstick.
I rarely makeup at home on the week ends but I’m more likely to go out at night, so I end up wearing more usually then I do all week because I do a full face every night I go out!
Not at all, really, but I do tend to road test face and eye products on Saturdays, when I go to do several hours of intense ballet – if it can hang on through that, I’m usually impressed!
my looks don’t vary due to days of the week but by my moods and how much TIME i have to prepare before work or before i go out. but like the rest of you (i’m sure!), i generally carry at least 2 types of lipsticks in my purse (bold and natural) plus two dark UD liners which i can smudge out for smokey eye looks when the mood strikes 😉
Its funny cuz I actually go simpler on my weekend makeup. Like I would take the time to experiment new colors and products but I won’t go for a bolder look. I usually take the time to give my skin a break or take the time to experiment small things.
Not by much really I just add an eyeshadow a lipstick or darker/brighter lipgloss.
My daily makeup it’s really natural and simple. Concealer, brows, blush and nothng on the eyes. On the weekend I have more time so I go for a more complete look.
I use the weekends to have fun with brighter colours as my work week colours are always neutral based. I have time to fix experiments gone wrong before scaring everyone at the grocery store.
I don’t do anything different on the weekends. My makeup (and look in general) is always based on occasion/event/social setting and my mood that day.
I definitely wear more lipstick on the weekends. Usually during the week it’s just lip balm or a MLBB color.
I wear the absolute bare minimum during the week because I roll out of bed 20 mins before I have to leave the house! So weekdays are usually BB cream, concealer, blush, brow powder, mascara, lips! Weekends are whatever I feel like, but it’s a proper job!!
Working in a corporate environment does not always allow me the freedom to wear bold lips so I experiment on the weekends with bolder lip colors.
pfeh, I work weekends. exactly the same as weekdays for me!
Weekend might be bolder eye or lips.
Unless I have something going on, I typically wear less on the weekends. If I have something to do, I’ll usually go more dramatic (if it’s night time), or really light in the day.
It doesn’t-since I don’t have a job!
During the work week i wear tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara, tinted lip balm, and i don’t do touch ups during the day. i dont wear makeup on the weekends because i refuse to go into town on my days off.
I usually have more time to go all out so I may wear eyeshadow, foundation, concealer, etc. I’m pretty lazy during the week lol
I typically wear the same makeup, regardless of the day of the week. The only time it really differs is on special occasions; I may wear more eye makeup than usual.
During the week I work as an accountant during the day and go to graduate classes at night, so things are kept lighter during the day, then I amp it up a bit for class, which seems weird, but it’s the only social interaction I really get outside of my husband so I like to play with different looks then.
When the weekend rolls around…I tie my hair up, slather on skincare products, and catch up on readings, so no real time for makeup. I remember once I was writing an essay and I had a green face mask on and my husband walked by and asked if that was a new look. Sheesh…boys.
It depends what you mean by “weekend”… I’ve never had a “typical 9-5” job; even when I worked in a bank, I worked many Saturdays, and the rest of the jobs I’ve held have been restaurant, bar, or retail, so working “weekends” is part of the job. That said, on my days off, if I’m not doing anything special, I go with a TM & MPF, lip balm, & *maybe* some mascara, and simple eyeshadow. If I have plans, I do a full look, which is either bold eye/nude lips or naked eye/bold lip.
It depends if I’m going anywhere or not… if I have special plans, I take advantage of the extra time and do extra fancy makeup. It’s also when I get more experimental and do looks I probably wouldn’t wear to work (I’ve been known to put on a full face with bright red lips just to run to Trader Joes). On the flip side, if I’m having a lazy inside weekend where I spend the day on the couch in my pajamas, I generally don’t wear anything but chapstick.
I spend a lot more time on my makeup when I don’t have to work – which includes 2 weekdays. I have a 5-10 minute makeup routine for workdays (CC, powder, blush, eyebrows, eyeliner, mascara and lips). But, when I have time for ME I generally spend about an hour on my makeup 🙂 I like a totally beat face and would do it everyday if I had the discipline to get up an hour earlier.
During the week I’ve been wearing a little bit of Lorac’s Porefection powder (it’s my HG of HGs), brow powder, and lip balm, but nothing else. I either drive up to see my boyfriend or he drives down to see me on the weekends so I make more effort…sometimes…LOL. It’s been 4 years-he knows what I look like without makeup. My favorite look is MAC’s All That Glitters with Quarry in the crease, and a little bit of smokey purple liner in the outer corner.
I go a lot simpler on the weekends generally. I have an office job so I wear a full face every weekday so I look “polished”. But on the weekends I may go completely without or if I’m running errands, only put on light blush, a little sheer eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara, and a sheer lipstick or gloss.
Changes drastically.
During the week I just use concealer, powder foundation, blush, mascara and lipstick.
On weekends I leave the drag queen who lives in me get up. hahaha (just kidding)
Smokey eyes, dark lipsticks, and a full face (with primer, liquid foundation and everything else I’m signed up for).
Gotta say that I love weekends. Feels like therapy to me.
I wear pretty much the same make up every day for work. On my days off I either go bare faced or experiment with different eyeshadow or bright lipstick which I wouldn’t dare wear to work!
My work is conservative enough that I stick to neutrals (and avoid overly dramatic/smoky eyes too), so weekends are time to play – that’s when I pull out the colors and the more intense looks.
I am a makeup artist, an assistant, and youtube blogger. I wear mostly matte and flawless makeup during the week, hardly any lashes. Weekend it’s time to play. Weekend glitter, lashes, foundation for recording my videos in HD. Deep contour. Hell Yeah!
On weekdays, I go for a quick and easy look that typically involves a quick buffing of face powder for even skin, filled in eyebrows, my go-to neutral blush and lipgloss, and a spritz of setting spray to make it all last. I’m off on the weekends, so I follow these same steps but trade my neutrals for bright lip and cheek colors. If I’m going somewhere special, I also apply eyeshadow (usual a smokey eye).
I like to wear darker lipstick and go for more of a goth look.
Well, since my current clinical requires me to leave before 6am, I keep things super quick. Then, on the weekends, I can take the time to do a more involved look.
It’s the same except instead of wearing a heavier red (think MAC Marcel Wanders Gesina, Illamasqua Box or Kat Von D Underage Red), I’ll wear what I call a “Saturday Red.” Reds like MAC Viva Glam Cyndi, MAC Prepare For Pleasure, Too Faced Stiletto Red, and Clinique Angel Red. My original “Saturday Red” was Clinique Rich Cherry (was so sad when they discontinued it!!) followed by Max Factor #280, Chianti. My first bright red was Lola’s Kimono Kiss!
I go for a natural full face look on work days.
On the weekend it really depends on my mood and my weekend plans. From wearing nothing over to tinted moisturizer, mascara and lipbalm to a full face with darker / bolder colors.
I never go anywhere, so I usually wear whatever I want to the university on weekdays and either wear nothing or very simple makeup on the weekends unless I’m going out that day.
My weekend look is usually a lot lighter than my weekday office look. Occasionally I will be a bit glittery and wear brighter shadows on the weekend (it is not like I can wear Urban Decay Heavy Metal to work). My weekday look is a full face with neutral shadows (such as the Naked 3 pallet shadows). Every day of the week I like to have a dewy completion with a nice illuminator (my favorite is Nars Copacabana).
During the week I obsessively rotate through my makeup to use it all evenly….I know totally OCD. On the weekend I wear what I want.
Good question! Because I find it’s a good time to relax, I wear absolutely no makeup so that my skin can breathe and restore. I’m still not sure if what I use causes any adverse reactions so I avoid makeup unless I go out.
