Waterproof Makeup: CoverFX Natural FX Water-based Foundation

CoverFX Natural FX ($37.00) is a water-based foundation that contains SPF 15 that was developed to be long-wearing. It is a light to medium coverage, highly blendable foundation that leaves behind a dewy, soft finish and evens out skintone. CoverFX has made this particular foundation more water resistant than other foundatinos on the market, which makes it great for summer and humid climates.

I found that it wore throughout the day with no smudging or melting, and I didn’t feel like I needed any touch-ups, either.  I liked how blendable the foundation was, because it gave me plenty of time to buff it into my skin for flawless coverage.  It is also great, because it is liquid enough that you can sheer it out for light coverage, but buildable enough that you can make it medium coverage, as well.  The only real downside to this product is its price tag, which is a bit higher than the average foundation.

They have twenty shades to choose from, broken down into four series. The B series is for golden brown to ebony skin tones; the C series is for Caucasian skins with mostly pink undertones; E series is for Caucasian skins with both pink and yellow undertones; and the M series is ideal for those with yellow and olive undertones.

CoverFX is made for sensitive skin … so if you are red and itchy, you will love this stuff! My mom’s skin is so sensitive she can only tolerate water on it, but she swears by the Natural FX. It was developed here at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, so it is worth the price for us sensitive girls 🙂

I reviewed the primer on the forum. This line is great – they only make products that are beneficial, with the understanding that what goes on the skin will go INTO the skin… definitely worth the price tag if you have sensitive skin!! A great line!!!

I’ve been looking for a tinted moisturizer with good coverage that lasts. I bought Laura Mercier’s (with the hefty $40 pricetag), but its just not enough coverage for me. Do you think this might be a good alternative? I know this is a foundation not a TM, but it sounds lightweight enough?

It felt lightweight to me (it may be a touch more on the light to medium weight, but it didn’t feel HEAVY!). You can always sheer it out, too, which is what I love. It’s quite blendable, which allows you to have better control over how much product you apply and need.

i use cream foundation and i have oily skin and at times i tend to get very oily. i also want to try water resistant foundation. what is the difference between these two types – water and cream. I use B25 for cream foundation. can i also use B25 as under eye concealer, just a little bit. i use pimer full noushrishing foundation. should i try matte primer in summer, beause of that extra oil.
