Valentine's Day Beauty Getaway: Ritz-Carlton Spa, Kapalua
Planning a romantic getaway for this Valentine’s Day with your sweetie? Consider the treatments for two at the Ritz-Carlton Spa, Kapalua, which only opened this past June. It’s a 17,500 square foot spa with fifteen treatments, private outdoor shower gardens, iPod docking stations (wow!), robe warmers (I’d like one of those!), grottos, steam rooms, saunas… The works!
According to a press release, Kapalua is “based on the healing waters of Waihua, which the ancient Hawaiians believed was the most pure form of water which was captured by the leaves of the taro plant.” Staying true to Hawaiian roots, they also offer Hawaiian based spa treatments, like a Lomilomi massage. They also use a host of natural ingredients like pineapple, papaya, coconut, and pumpkin in their products. The lines they use are often Murad, Naturopathica, Eminence, and Mama Mio for the expecting.
Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is located on the island of Maui in Hawaii. I’m pretty sure I don’t need to explain why Hawaii makes an amazing place to jet off to de-stress and love your honey. I’ve never been to the island of Maui (my adventures have only taken me to Oahu, The Big Island, and Kauai), but I know it’s one of my parents’ favorite islands to go for their anniversary.
I’ve actually used several of the products they offer (especially Eminence, which makes amazing facial treatments and masques that you can purchase and use at-home), but I must say they do a brilliant job of incorporating the Hawaiian feel into many of the products used during your stay or available to take home with you. There is something about the scents of tropical fruit and the ocean breeze that get me!
If I could convince my boyfriend we could afford such a luxe vacation, I’d definitely want to check out Kapalua. If only, sigh! But hopefully some of you are more persuasive than I with your significant others 😉
