Urban Decay XX Vintage Eyeshadows & Nail Colors for Holiday 2016

Eyeshadow was the third product we ever launched. Lip and nail shades came first, and Eyeshadow hit the line a year later—but it’s never taken a back seat. Eyeshadow was (and always has been) Wende’s passion project. After 20 years, we’re getting a little nostalgic for the early days. That’s why we created UD XX Vintage Eyeshadow—a throwback to our first Eyeshadow collection from 1997, which consisted of 19 shades that were WAY ahead of their time. While six of those original shades are still in our collection today, others have disappeared over the years. Now they’re back in one ultra-exclusive collection! Get the cult-favorite colors you know and love in our bestselling, intensely pigmented formula.

Still mourning the loss of our long-ago-discontinued nail shades like Plague, Pallor and Bruise? You’re in luck. We’ve brought you UD XX Vintage Nail Color. To mark our twentieth anniversary, we’re resurrecting ALL 12 of our original shades in this exclusive collection. We get TONS of requests from our fans to bring back our original nail shades, so these are bound to sell out in a hot minute. Our UD XX Vintage Nail Color collection is also ultra limited-edition—so once these shades are gone, they’re gone for good! (Don’t say we didn’t warn you.)

Oh – loving the eyeshadows. I bet a lot of people are going to be excited that Gash is back! Very timely with the red shadow trend happening right now. The nail polishes are pretty, but I have one UD bottle and the formula is just the worrrrrst. 🙁

Hope they do this for lips, too, although I can’t imagine it, with the huge Vice redo. I lost my rust l/s, that had green microshimmer in a light orange base. In the late 90s, pretty avant garde, but still subtle. Miss it. Prob still have the majority of the e/s reissues in Zs. Had snow and roach as a liquid liners, pretty fun. UD seems much more mainstream now than then.

Good thing I already have most of the vintage eyeshadows that I like in my Vice XX palette, cuz I am gonna NEED ALL THE POLISH! I don’t think the last holiday release was all that great but this year, holy crap! And these weren’t even in that photo they teased on social media. Lord have mercy on my wallet!

I wasn’t into UD back then, so these are new to me, although I’ve heard people talk nostagically about them. Some of the vintage shadows are in Vice Reloaded XX , although people are saying the ones in the set aren’t as good as the originals. I’m hoping the single of Gash is as good as original. And some of those purple nail polishes are calling my name

Wow this is exciting!
It also draws attention to the grittier names they used to use. Nowadays the names are more glam rock than counterculture.

Are they?… You are $#!++!^€ me! So many have been lost or turned, though I think I’m a little old to wear shattered now. Rust, with the green patina, please. I also had a road stripe l/s, abc gum l/s and a few others that don’t spring to mind. Old UD was the place to go for unusual; now it’s the indies. I can justify the l/s more than I can the e/s. Bring them on!

They posted a picture on their Instagram account yesterday about the lipsticks. I didn’t own any of the originals so I can’t tell which ones they’re releasing but I’m super excited about them. I love the vice formula so I’m sure the vintage ones will be amazing.

As much as I love this, I’d love it even more if they made Gash permanent! I don’t know how I’m going to survive once I run out of it in my Vice Ltd XX Reloaded palette!

I wasn’t much into makeup (apart from lipstick) in the mid to late 90s, but I loved nail polish in funky colors and only had money for the cheap stuff at the time. I clearly remember wanting Mildew nail polish at some point but settling for an acceptable drugstore dupe.

I usually avoid LEs but have been interested in Gash for a long time, just not enough to buy the palettes it’s been in. So I need to get to the store, try it out in person before it gets gone.

I just ordered Gash! I have it already in Vice Reloaded XX, which I like, but it’s suppose to be different from the original Gash. I never had the original, which everyone keeps raving about, so I’m hoping the single is the same as the original, or at least closer.

I’ve got a couple of the polishes in the current style bottle. I like them, but they’re both darker colors that aren’t prone to streaking or being too translucent, so I can’t speak for different types of colors. But they were right in line with any other decent nail polish.

Julia Avatar

I hate their polish – but I only have one so maybe it’s a bad one? It dries a little bit gummy and not very shiny, and the brush is super skinny, making application harder. I would definitely recommend starting with just one if you’re really into the colors, just to make sure the formula is improved!

Jenny Avatar

In order to round out this collection, I’m trying to remember which current 6 are the original ones! It’s been forever, I’m thinking ABC gum may be one of them.

Lulle Avatar

The nail lacquers look great, but I’m really not on board with the release of Holiday collections in August. Is it gonna be July next year? Can we enjoy the end of the SUMMER? And then when most people actually start their Holiday shopping, all these collections will be sold out. I’m annoyed. Can you tell? Lol!

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

I think I have some of these shadows but I wasn’t buying UD when they launched so it must be the reloaded palette or maybe liners. I don’t do nail polish, no nails.

Elle Avatar

These are not available on the Canadian website. I’ve tried contacting Urban Decay for the last couple of days and they won’t answer me. 🙁

I hope vapour is a true silver! I’ve wanted a silver eyeshadow from UD for so long! Every time they get a new one that looks like silver online, it is dark grey on me once I get to swatch it!
Also the second nail polish looks awesome, but I got Gash earlier this year and it chips faster and more than any cheap drugstore polish ever has.
