Urban Decay Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette
Urban Decay Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette

When color is your drug of choice, you know where to get the good stuff. Satisfy your color addiction with Full Spectrum, a limited-edition set featuring 21 shades of our iconic Eyeshadow (the most ever in any UD palette!)—from bold brights to matte white.

We organized the shadows by color family, creating a rainbow of ombré trios: pinks, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, purples, and even a wildcard row that goes from white to black. The end result? A palette that not only looks stunning, but also delivers tons of options. Create dimensional ombré looks by working within the color-coordinated trios or experiment with multiple shade groups at once. With 18 NEW shades, three exclusives from past palettes, and a wide range of finishes, you’ll never run out of options.

In 2015, we launched Urban Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette in limited quantities, and people freaked out trying to get their hands on it. And if you thought that palette was amazing, you’ll be blown away by Full Spectrum. This set ups the ante with our BIGGEST, most colorful palette yet! From super-smooth mattes to shimmer-laced shades, this palette has something for EVERY color junkie.

Early access for Urban Decay Beauty Junkies 10/13, October 26th at Urban Decay, then at other retailers

I’m looking at this and I’m just like why…… I love their palettes but every year they just release the same variations over and over again. I don’t hear pros talk about these palettes much, so it must be still consumers who buy them. I wish they’d come out with something different / more groundbreaking.

Dyan Avatar

I’ve heard Mario Dedivanovic who is Kim K’s mua talk about UD. I’ve heard him talk about using the perversion liquid liner on Kim K for her wedding day and specific eyeshadow colors in various other videos with Kim K including the eyeshadow called vapor. Ive also heard Lisa Eldridge talk about UD in some of her videos too.

Maggie Avatar

Second on Lisa Eldridge–especially the afterglow blushes. And I see at least one Naked palette in every wedding where there was an MUA hired so freelancers seem to use it. But yes, I imagine pros tend to not use Vice or the other LE items UD churns out.

Julia Avatar

Wow! Definitely an attractive palette! It looks like they combined Electric + the original Spectrum palette. I already have both of those, so this is a pass for me. I am glad (it looks like) they learned from the complaints on the Spectrum packaging and hinged the darn lid!

Gina Avatar

I saw a release date of October 26th at Sephora, not sure of any place else.
I hope UD sells it on their site-I have been saving my UD Junkies rewards to use towards it.
I WILL be getting this-no question about it!

Maggie Avatar

I just headed over there and they mentioned the shadows were “sheer” and “wearable.” *Disappointed*

I think I am going to put this on the back burner and wait for your review. I might haul electric palette, some sugarpill palettes, and some viseart instead.

Chelle Avatar

I mean.. it’s a total rip off of last year’s Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix palette… but I don’t care, I own that one and I WILL own this one! I’m a total sucker for a rainbow palette! And it’s kind of nice to see Urban Decay do a whole pile of brights in one palette at once. The Electric palette was good, but there just wasn’t enough shadows in it and some of them weren’t even eye safe (not that it mattered to me – I put it all over my lids). YAY!

Francesca Avatar

I thought the same thing. They are cashing in on some of that money that Kat Von D’s line started to take away from them. I like the set up of this one more than Kat’s, and the packaging looks a bit more practical.

Katherine T. Avatar

Ooooh, I’m interested! I hope that white isn’t the only matte in this palette. And I’m not sure what to do with a white matte, but the other colors look very beautiful!

Denise S. Avatar

Linde you are doing pretty good for a sixteen year old if you own the Vice palette! When I was 16 I had 1 lipstick and a couple eye shadows and a black pencil eye liner. They didn’t make beautiful makeup like this back then. You’ll get a job soon enough if you are industrious. And spend your paycheck on makeup like us addicted makeup junkies, lol.

Rachel Avatar

🙂 I got my first job at 15 and spent all of my paychecks on makeup. Back then I didn’t have access to anything but drugstore makeup but I bought it all up! When you get your first job, it will be so awesome for you. I still remember how great it was to buy all the makeup I wanted. Now I’m an adult with bills and kids, so I have to budget too, haha!

Carrie Avatar

Gonna wait til swatches come out. I spy at least six colors (blues/purples) that are at a quick glancr are extremely close to the UD spectrum from last year.

Krutika Avatar

Hi Christine!
I am excited by a non-neutral palette, but do you think it looks wayyy too similar to KVD’s mi Vida Loca palette?

Also, on a side- note, do you happen to know what time the makeupbymario palette will release tomorrow?

Mo Merrell Avatar

They really do have the best palette designs.
As i now have three of their palettes and two with bright colors, this would be unnecessary to buy as it looks like the ones i have plus the colors are too bright for me but it’s gorgeous.

kjh Avatar

Very tempting, but think I’ll go with Viseart bijoux instead. Haven’t done any in this lineup, but with 4 vice palettes, must have SOMETHING pretty similar. Gotta cease and desist with the get it ’cause it’s gorgeous routine. Really hope it’s great and that everyone enjoys/gets a lot of use from it. I CAN resist.

HeavyMetalJess Avatar

I like that this has a row of dark tones, true brights, and lighter hues and NO NEUTRALS (aside from a matte white that I’m always running out of). Would really like to see UD make their palettes with removable magnetic pans and maintain a consistent size/shape between all eyeshadow palettes so we can rearrange them and switch them out. I have so many palettes that I would like to rearrange them by hue. Will definitely be picking this up.

anon Avatar

So very tempting but their palettes have had terrible quality lately. And this is from someone who has two of the original Spectrum. I’ll have to wait for swatches.

Mariella Avatar

Waaaay too bright and impractical for me – neon yellows, pinks and oranges – no way! If they’d come out with one like that but with more wearable shades and a bit more variety (the 3 blues look very similar to one another as do the 3 purples) I’d be buying it.

Amee Avatar

This looks like one I wouldn’t mind getting this year. I’m from New Zealand so I hope it makes it to at least Australia this year. I purchased last years spectrum palette and while I love it, I don’t gravitate to it because its doesn’t have the friendliest packaging. This packaging looks more travel friendly. I’m hoping I can get this one and the Kat Von D one this year (I have to limit myself to 2 palettes) and UD doesn’t come out with anymore amazing limited edition palettes!

Asche Avatar

I’m not feeling it either. I just don’t like the majority of these colours, and a lot of them are so similar I doubt anyone would be able to see the difference once applied.

Kylie5 Avatar

I Love it. This is a Palette I will buy although I Will Never use it just because it Looks so good. Like the kat von d Vida loca which I did not buy and now it is hard to get. They all Want so much Money for it. So stupid. I want the Kat von d sooo much.

Nancy T Avatar

Right?!? Or last year’s Spectrum debacle either, we hope! This year feels like “makeup overload” between a few brands putting out 120 different lipstick shades and the avalanche of eyeshadow palettes. As of now, I still love Viseart Bijoux, which now has company with this Spectrum and the KVD Metal Matte palettes also gaining much interest.

kjh Avatar

Just got the kvd and the Ciate. That metal/matte is one huge, take up all your space behemoth. Even though we were warned. It certainly does not fit in my kvd bag. Haven’t dipped in yet, but did a warm eye/cool eye from Ciate, and liked both. The Ciate neutrals are unlikely to muddy, which happens to me with darker browns. Muy likin’ them right now!

Porkchop8209 Avatar

I always stick to warm neutral looks or more often no shadow, but I LOVE your idea! I feel like it’s justifying why I need this palette. ?

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

I am a complete UD shadow junkie but this looks really familiar. I think I must wait to see it in person before deciding. It is pretty.

Rachael Avatar

UGH! I love this and the packaging but I have two other spectrum palettes and rarely use them. I don’t need this in any way, shape, or form but I WANT IT! HAHA. We’ll see. The last Spectrum palette went on sale at Sephora. Maybe this one will too.

Nika99 Avatar

I love the look of this palette and I have Mi Vida Loca.So beautiful I can’t wait to get it!!I wonder if this is going to be the only palette or if their going to do Vice 5.

Jaz Avatar

I want both this and metal matte from Kvd. Also, the bijoux Royale palette from viseart. I think that covers my colors for the year lol. Maybe the Lorac pro 3 palette for my neutral fix for the season.

Dimana Avatar

Oh, Lord! Help me not spend all my money on UD makeup……….
I am sooo looking forward to swatches and reviews on this one. Strangely the blues and the purples look ve-ery similar to me… Hope that’s not the case. And I also hope that UD up-ed their eyeshadow game with this one…

Lorrin Avatar

Hmm there seem to be some hit shades here but for some reason this palette just isn’t screaming at me. I already have Spectrum and two Electric palettes (got the 2nd for a steal!). I keep putting faith in UD and they keep disappointing me. Might pick this up if I can get it on sale, but I think I’m moving away from the brand.

Alecto Avatar

I was tempted by the original spectrum palette, but the gaps in the “spectrum” annoyed me (and I didn’t need the neutrals). This is more like what I was looking for. Held out on everything similar, but I’m seriously tempted by this. If I got it, I might even leave it in its original packaging. 🙂

kjh Avatar

With you exactly on that. I’d do it now from Muse, but hope S will have it in time for the sale. My bet is on S dropping bijoux the day after the sale ends. If S does that, to Muse I go. Not like S needs any more of my pesos.

Porkchop8209 Avatar

I honestly don’t wear eyeshadow that often and when I do, it’s sheer and neutral. I bought the UD Gwen palette and the Tarte Swamp Queen palette within the last 7 months. Basically, I don’t need this palette. But yes I do, because I don’t own any non neutral shades. And gosh, something about that rainbow palette just looks so gorgeous. I kind of just want to own it to look at it. Nancy mentioned creating a rainbow unicorn lids and I think that sounds amazing!

Katherine T. Avatar

Oh dear. I already have original Spectrum, Kat Von D MetalMatte, and loads of colorful singles from ColourPop. Do I need this? Noooo. But do I want it? Yes. And nice to see a bunch of colorful mattes in here, even if many of them have “tonal pearl”– I guess that’s UD version of matte, but better than all shimmer shades.

Nika99 Avatar

I got this as soon as I got the update from @Trendmood1 saying it was available on UD.com!!So excited to create some looks with this one!!I have really been loading up on palettes ABH Master Palette,KVD MetalMatte,UD Naked Ultimate Basics.Im still hoping for a Vice 5!The Vintage Vault on UD.com looks awesome too!I have only bought one item from the vintage collection so far Smog Vintage Vice lipstick so I keep going back and forth with wether I want it or not.

Lea Avatar

The pinks and top and middle peachy oranges are surprisingly pretty. Surprising because those aren’t colors I tend to go for outside of maybe lips?

Helena Avatar

When UD first showed pictures of this palette, I saw there were 21 shades and wondered how much it would cost. Given the average PPO of their shadow palettes (between ~$2.6-$4), I thought it would either be really expensive or the shadows would be really tiny. I’m really pleasantly surprised neither is true!! According to UD’s site, each shade is 0.04 oz. Comparing this to the second Alice palette, you pay $5 less for one more shadow.
The PPO of this palette is $65.48. The “value” compared to their singles is $319.20!

Gerralynn Avatar

My palette arrived yesterday and very pretty and bright but its very sheer. Ive only done swatches without primer and even the finger swatches are very sheer.. I’m going to try swatches with primer underneath but so far it seems it would be good for someone who wants a wash of color not someone looking for really bold colors.
