Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils ($20.00 for 0.04 oz.) now include these four shades in the permanent range: Corrupt (dark metallic reddish brown shimmer with silver micro-sparkle), Whiskey (rich brown matte), Roach (deep copper brown shimmer), Smog (copper shimmer), and Scorch (bronze shimmer with silver micro-sparkle). Out of these five Roach and Scorch are entirely new, while the other shades have been released in exclusive sets/kits.

Corrupt is a dark brown with a subtle cool undertone and multi-colored sparkle. It had good pigmentation in a single pass, and then it was buildable to mostly opaque color coverage. Urban Decay Bourbon is warmer, more brown, whereas Corrupt has a slightly blackened/gray coloring. CoverGirl Brown is more matte, slightly darker, while CoverGirl Brown is similar in color but matte in finish.

Whiskey is a medium-dark, slightly warm-toned brown with a matte finish. The color payoff was quite nice in a single stroke, and it’s very easy to apply it with full opacity. MAC Brownborder is similar. Chanel Brun-Teak is slightly less warm-toned. MAC Lord It Up compares best in terms of color with this shade but has a sparkly finish.

Roach is a warm-toned, bronze-shimmered, medium-dark brown with copper and gold shimmer. It had so-so pigmentation in one stroke, but it built up to opaque color when done a second time. Urban Decay Lucky is brighter, more metallic, and more copper-colored (less brown). Tokidoki Savana is slightly more muted.

Smog is a medium-dark brown with subtle warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had decent color in a single stroke, and it was buildable to mostly opaque color coverage. Urban Decay Lucky is darker and more copper-hued.

Scorch is a warm-toned, bronze-brown with a pearly sheen. It had decent payoff in one pass, and it built up to opaque color coverage when I went back-and-forth. Urban Decay Baked is a bit darker but slightly brighter/more metallic. Make Up For Ever #10L is more golden.

Some excellent reading: Bronze/Copper Eyeliner Comparisons, Brown Eyeliner Comparisons

Whiskey was the top-performing shade from the five featured in this post; it is nicely pigmented whether you use one stroke or go back-and-forth over it. Smog was the least impressive, as it didn’t quite build to full color coverage, even when layered, but it gets close. The other three had decent to good color in a single pass but were more buildable to opacity. The consistency was slightly waxy and creamy, so the color would glide across the skin without tugging, pulling, or skipping. I typically get eight to ten hours of wear with little to no fading, and I haven’t had trouble with smudging or migration with the formula previously. I will be testing the newer shades over the next few weeks, so if I notice any differences, I will be sure to update this post to reflect them!

I’m thrilled Smog is available in a full sized individual pencil now – it’s such a pretty color and I love using it for a softer look. The shimmer gives it a little extra oomph.

Oddly, Smog is my favorite liner for “no makeup” makeup, probably because it’s not fully opaque. I’m glad it’s being released as a full-size, as I was cherishing my travel size from the Smoked set.

I’m sad to see that nothing in their new lineup is really going to compare to Lucky as far as “copper” liners go. Hopefully I can stock up before it disappears. 🙁

I have Whiskey and I love it! I’m also super excited to buy Scorch because Baked is a pencil I use alllll the time (mostly on my lower lashline/waterline) and I was so sad when they d/c’d it.

I’m so excited that they made Whiskey a permanent color, I was so bummed when I used it up from my naked palette. I also love smog, I use the eyeshadow everyday!

I really love Corrupt! I may just pick it up. It’s strange how hard it is to find cool-toned brown liners. I find most of them are either neutral or read warm on my skin.
