Tutorial - Smokey Gold-Green using Indianwood Paint Pot
This tutorial is designed to show you how to utilize the new paint pot formula with a smokey green eye.
Skill Level: Moderate
Eyes: Indianwood paint pot (gold tinted cream shadow), Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow (frosty light gold with green sheen), Tectonic mineralize shadow (yellow green), Velvet Moss eyeshadow (velvet olive green), Humid eyeshadow (deep green), White Tie eyeshadow (white-gold highlighter), Graphblack technakohl (black kohl liner), and black mascara.
Face: If you’d like to compliment the eyes, use Springsheen blush (warm coral) on apples of cheeks with Taupe blush to contour.
Lips: For matching lips, try Tiger Tiger lipstick with Apex 3D glass.
Start with a clean, bare eye.
Apply Indianwood paint pot all over lid and above crease using a flat, stiff brush like the 252.
Apply Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow with a small fluffy brush like the 239 to the inner third of your lid.
Apply Tectonic mineralize shadow with the same brush as before to the middle of your lid, wet or dry. If using wet, try using a brush like the 249.
Apply Velvet Moss eyeshadow to outer lid with a brush like the 239.
Apply Velvet Moss eyeshadow in outer half of the crease with the same brush as before.
Apply White Tie eyeshadow above crease and on brow with a brush like the 239.
Apply Humid eyeshadow directly in outer crease with the edge of the 239.
This is the finished product.
You my Dear are the Bomb! I love your site. Thank you bc its rare that I like the make-up done in how-to’s. Go girl!
Thanks, Crystal! I’m happy to help out 🙂
Would Moss Scape paint pot work well for this look too?
You could try, but I found that Moss Scape paint pot is quite dark and didn’t pick up light colors very well.
Thanks for the tutorial….they are great and you are very pretty too.
It’s my pleasure, Nydia! Thank you 🙂
Hey Christine, first I want to say great job as always. What would you use instead of velvet moss and tectonic, I think MAC has discontinued these colors.
Thanks, Chaneese! Try Humid and Swimming mixed together — there isn’t a great dupe for either Velvet Moss/Tectonic 🙁
Hey Christine! I absolutely LOVE your work!! I think it’s amazing!
I really love this look and want to do it for my matric dance this year… My dress is very vintage, but i wanted to know how to do the eyes in more of a mint/teal green and subtler?
Can you help?
I would just substitute the shades and use lighter versions!
